I was really disappointed with the horchata coffee latte. It tasted like straight milk -- if I had stayed home and poured myself a glass of milk, the experience would have been about the same. I ordered this drink because Starbucks had a version, and I figured an authentic take on it would be even better. Unfortunately, I didn't taste any horchata flavor, coffee, or anything that made it feel special. It was mostly just milk with barely any coffee flavor. I didn't try the food, so I can't comment on that, but the coffee alone was absolutely not worth the trip. I won't be coming back. Love supporting small neighborhood businesses! Third spaces like this are so essential to community building. I came here for brunch with a friend and really enjoyed the ambiance. Pretty spacious for larger groups and was not crowded on a weekend morning. My coffee was tasty. Where do I begin? Ah yes, the coffee. 100/10, highly recommend. Didn't catch his name, but whomever it was knew how to make the perfect cup. I had the Panela shaken espresso with oatmilk, Horcha-latte (horchata and espresso), Matcha X Chai Latte, and the seasonal El Otoño latte...::sigh:: All delicious, all perfect, and my only regret is not staying to enjoy the ambiance. Everything is calm and clean, which is a surprise considering they're located right off 198 (next to Luchador). It literally feels like stepping into a different world. I loved how the baristas TOOK THEIR TIME. Do not expect a super quick cup because they TAKE THEIR TIME, and that's why it tastes so good. Well, that and the quality. They use Mayorga Coffee, which needs a review in itself. High quality beans from people who care about providing a quality coffee experience. They also provide food from La Casita, which is DELICIOUS! I had the plantains with crema and it was the perfect midday snack :) They also sell books from Latin authors (think poetry and short stories), which are located along the wall along with various cups and coffee beans. Parking is a bit tight. So if you're looking for a cup to-go, bringing a laptop and/or a book, having coffee with a friend or date...this would be a great spot. Very lovely, warm, and inviting aesthetic on the inside. The staff were kind with quick service. I was more so disappointed with the food, which pains me to say as I was looking forward to coming here for a while. The Horcha-Latte (Horchata Latte) was the best thing I tried- I tasted the sweet, creamy cinnamon base that paired perfectly with the coffee. The most disappointing was their Guava pastry or Pastel de Guayaba. I LOVE guava pastries and had to try it. I expected it to be soft or at least easy to break, but it was HARD. The crust was super hard to cut and the pastry wasn't as filled. It tasted like they put store bought Goya Guava Paste and plastered it in there. I expected it to be more elevated or homemade with care and good quality ingredients. The texture definitely disappointed me the most! The food was just okay. I haven't had pupusas in ages, so I got one frijol + queso (bean and cheese) and one Revuelta (pork + cheese) pupusa. My fav was the frijol + queso; the Revuelta was super bland and lacked flavor even with Curtido/the slaw. I asked for a side of fried Yuca, but they didn't have. I have had a few opportunities to visit Centrado Cafe. The staff are always great. It is very nice Cafe and cool vibe. It features a small retail and bakery area. They can make most coffee drinks. Over the years I've found it difficult to find a cafe that serves decent coffee, so I was very excited to have discovered Centrado, especially since it's in my neighborhood. My first time I just had a cappuccino and I was very pleased so I've been back there so many times since. They not only serve coffee but combine American with Mexican cuisine, great for brunch. The breakfast "guanaco" burrito is a must try, and if you do not mind beans- pan de dia is also a great option. They have friendly staff and there is plenty of indoor seating, I've seen a lot of people enjoying a cup of coffee and working/studying, it has a very relaxed ambiance. The only reason I've given it a 4 star is because I ordered their açaí bowl once and that was very watery and not fresh tasting BUT I still highly recommend this place. read more

Came here with a friend for the first time, and I enjoyed myself! It was def a vibe. A bit difficult to turn into from the road at night so keep that in mind if you struggle with directions/GPS like I do lol. There is a free parking lot as well. I got a gluten free brownie for $3.99 that was a good portion size, it was just dry so I wouldn't recommend it. Then I got a regular sized caramel frappe with one shot of expresso & almond milk for $6.75. (I mainly took off one star because I had to wait over 30 mins for my coffee because they forgot about it) It was absolutely delicious!! I'm not a big coffee drinker but I love sweet things so it def hit the spot for me. My friend got wings and really enjoyed them. My biggest regret is not getting to try more food. I decided to stop by Centrado Cafe today and had a Plesant experience. The barista walked me through the menu and after her recommendation I tried the Dulce de atado latte with a quesadilla. The coffee was delicious, the quesadilla wasn't unfortunately. It was extremely sweet, and did not mix well with the coffee. The pan de dia was pretty good. I did an online order as I was with the toddler in between swim meets and it took roughly 30 minutes to receive my order...it's Sunday morning so I understand. If you order a cold drink remember to hold the ice or your coffee will be watered down....no worries they remade my drink for me without a hassle. I ordered a few different food items...custom Açaí Bowl, rice and beans, and breakfast burrito...the Açaí was just ok...they should change the base but keep the fruit...the base doesn't have much flavor. The rice and beans were ok...and the burrito I probably wouldn't get again....lacked flavor. Centrado is located in the small shopping center of burtonsville and is a cute cafe with plenty of seating, a private parking lot and even a bar in the back of the restaurant. I've had their breakfast before and they have a good variety of hearty American or Latin cuisine and healthy açaí bowls or smoothies. They have a self-ordering system upon entering the establishment for take out only to speed things up. Otherwise you can walk straight to the counter and order--doesn't take long at all. It's adorable inside - on a beautiful, sunny day, I couldn't resist sitting at a barstool in front of the windows, but the whole cafe is beautiful and comfortable. I was overcaffeinated on my travel coffee when I arrived, so I ordered a maracuya (passionfruit) agua fresca to enjoy with my breakfast, but they have an extensive coffee menu - something for everyone (cortadito, café de olla, shakerado, banana-nana latte, horchata frappe, etc). Then for food? They have everything from açai bowls, pastries (pastel de piña, quesadilla salva), tacos, burritos, breakfast plates, and more. Found myself off work on a Monday morning and decided to check this place out. It's a popular place for people working from home. At least 7 people were sitting on their computer with headphones having Teams calls or otherwise working. There's music playing and the gentle din from the coffee bar meant that the i couldn't hear any particular conversation, even though there were a lot of people talking. It strangely wasn't too loud. There are only a few parking spots out front, but there's more in the back. The place to order is clearly delineated, I selected some coffee beans to take home and ordered a slice of coffee cake and a horcha-latte. They took my name and said they'd bring my items out. So I sat at a table and 5 or so minutes later they brought my items out. They warmed my coffee cake up and it was delicious. Not too sweet. My latte which was horchata style was sweet, though smoothly foamy, I loved it. The vibe of this place is old restaurant that's been updated with character. The atmosphere is calming and has a friendly, quaint design. There is sufficient parking and the setting is neat and quiet.. The sugar-free lattes were nice and foamy, not too notch but not bad. We were satisfied with the plain coffee cake that we ordered because it was not sugary and tasted more like lightly sweetened cornbread than traditional coffee cake. Thus, it went well with the lattes. The service is pretty quick, but sad to say, two of the 3 clerks that I have encountered on my only two visits here lack cordiality and customer-friendliness. Actually, one young lady seems borderline snarky and a tad passive aggressive. Maybe, she faces challenges that make life tough or frustrating. I was polite to her and thanked her. Still, there was one cashier who was quite sweet and welcoming and her manner is the opposite, thank goodness. Did not get her name but would describe her as a very professional, sweet, Caucasian young lady who seems to make an effort to assure that patrons want to return and that her customers feel valued. The other two young cashiers/baristas could learn a lot from watching the customer service that this positive, enthusiastic Centrado team member provides. I most likely will not make a third visit bc the lattes are not that outstanding, but I do appreciate that one team member whose attitude is helpful and whose tone is one of warmth and appreciation. Ok, this place is hoppin' on the weekend. We managed to get there before the lunch rush and proceeded to squander that success because we needed time with the menu. The line to order was pretty long but went fairly quickly. The drinks and food were good. The chai was really, really good, and the miel y canela was spot on. We also ordered a two dishes. I think one was a sort of vegetarian burrito bowl thing which was tasty. The plantains were excellent. And my smol one ordered a smoothie bowl of sorts. For that one, the fruits mixed in were super frozen and challenging to eat. Why the three stars? It was super duper loud, and it took forever to get the food. This is a perfect cafe that has some excellent food as well as drinks. The Miel y Canela latte was really good and bonus each of their hot beverages are served in porcelain cups. The plantain and avocado bowl was filling but all the flavor came from the salsa and salt on the chips. Service was OK. Bowls weren't brought out with silverware and we had to stop a server who passed our table 3 times for one. Bowls were somehow also brought out before the drinks.
