Love supporting small neighborhood businesses! Third spaces like this are so essential to community building. I came here for brunch with a friend and really enjoyed the ambiance. Pretty spacious for larger groups and was not crowded on a weekend morning. My coffee was tasty. I do wish the bowl had a little more flavor, especially seasoning on the meat but it was pretty filling. The bagels are locally from the Bagelry which is a plus!

The fact that I've never reviewed Centrado Cafe Shop!? And I visit all the time!? This coffee shop is a local shop to Burtonsville, and is minority-owned. It's home-y..cozy. It's always busy. Their coffee and speciality lattes are delicious. My go-to is their Iced Miel y Canela Latte (honey and cinnamon) and I love their breakfast burrito with chorizo. The owner and staff are really nice and honestly, is another I keep giving them my money :-)

Very lovely, warm, and inviting aesthetic on the inside. The staff were kind with quick service. I was more so disappointed with the food, which pains me to say as I was looking forward to coming here for a while. The Horcha-Latte (Horchata Latte) was the best thing I tried- I tasted the sweet, creamy cinnamon base that paired perfectly with the coffee. The most disappointing was their Guava pastry or Pastel de Guayaba. I LOVE guava pastries and had to try it. I expected it to be soft or at least easy to break, but it was HARD. The crust was super hard to cut and the pastry wasn't as filled. It tasted like they put store bought Goya Guava Paste and plastered it in there. I expected it to be more elevated or homemade with care and good quality ingredients. The texture definitely disappointed me the most! The food was just okay. I haven't had pupusas in ages, so I got one frijol + queso (bean and cheese) and one Revuelta (pork + cheese) pupusa. My fav was the frijol + queso; the Revuelta was super bland and lacked flavor even with Curtido/the slaw. I asked for a side of fried Yuca, but they didn't have. I had to opt for a side of plantains which were lackluster, a bit burnt, and nothing special.

Cute café with options for all diets including vegan and vegetarian. They have fresh juices and smoothies as well as a variety of speciality coffee and teas. They have a large mexican inspired menu. The food was delicious and made fresh and the prices are reasonable. A great place to grab a quick bite, chill, or study. It's an order at the counter and sit down place. They bring your food to you when it's done. You can also order takeout at the kiosk in the front.

Cute busy cafe with good service and food. Horchata latte: 5/5 this was a unique latte for me. The flavors were deep and something I've never had before. I would come back and get this again. Plantain & avocado bowl: well seasoned rice. The plantains weren't sweet but paired well with the rice, avocado, and beans.

Came here with a friend for the first time, and I enjoyed myself! It was def a vibe. A bit difficult to turn into from the road at night so keep that in mind if you struggle with directions/GPS like I do lol. There is a free parking lot as well. I got a gluten free brownie for $3.99 that was a good portion size, it was just dry so I wouldn't recommend it. Then I got a regular sized caramel frappe with one shot of expresso & almond milk for $6.75. (I mainly took off one star because I had to wait over 30 mins for my coffee because they forgot about it) It was absolutely delicious!! I'm not a big coffee drinker but I love sweet things so it def hit the spot for me. My friend got wings and really enjoyed them. My biggest regret is not getting to try more food. I would def go back and I do recommend them. Great spot to chill and hang out, have dinner or study.

I decided to stop by Centrado Cafe today and had a Plesant experience. The barista walked me through the menu and after her recommendation I tried the Dulce de atado latte with a quesadilla. The coffee was delicious, the quesadilla wasn't unfortunately. It was extremely sweet, and did not mix well with the coffee. The pan de dia was pretty good. Filled with egg, crema, beans & chorizo it was delicious. My only complaint about it. It was cold when it made it to the table. Coffee 8/10 Quesadilla 5/10 Pan de dia 7.5/10

Service is mediocre and they are the only coffee shop in Maple Lawn. I got a vanilla latte for $7 and it tasted like a worse version of a Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee. Don't get me wrong, I like Dunkin' if that's the price and expectation I have for my coffee that day. Too much cream, too much sugar, and no espresso coffee flavor. The hot lattes don't even have latte art and that's expected if it's going to be an overpriced coffee shop. I should have known it was a red flag when she didn't ask me about any milk options. My boyfriend ordered a pineapple smoothie and that was good. The only saving grace to us giving this 2 stars. The cafe is outdated and needs to be updated if the coffee is going to be terrible. I would rather go to Starbucks or Dunkin' than here in the future. Such a disappointment for a coffee shop in Maple Lawn.

There was also a beautiful mural. In terms of food, I was really excited to try both the sweet and savory crepes. There was one couple ahead of us who walked in at the same time as us, so while their order was being made, we perused the menu. There was only one employee at the shop making the crepes so their order took awhile (they waited at least 15 minutes for two crepes). We finally got to put our order in and the employee said it'll be 15 mins for what we ordered (chicken & shrooms crepe, shrimply the best crepe, and s'mores crepe). Each crepe is moderately priced but I was pleasantly surprised at how big the crepes were. However, while we were waiting for ours to be made, the couple who got their order ahead of ours came back saying there was a foreign object in their crepe and they wanted a refund because they had no time to wait for a new one to be made. The employee seemed to not be sure how to refund the order and had to make a call which made our wait even longer. It also made me a little nervous for what I'd find in my crepe - but our crepes seemed okay. The employee also forgot to make our s'mores crepe so there was more of a wait for that, but we dined in so it wasn't a huge deal. The service overall could be improved with better staff training and just more staff in general to handle orders even on what they might think is a slow day. We eventually got our crepes and the shrimp crepe was delicious and had a little spicy kick to it which i loved. It also had a little salad in there so half the crepe was cold which I didn't love but could deal with. The chicken & mushroom crepe was also fantastic and had even more flavor and a kick to it. The s'mores crepe was also a perfect sweet finisher to the meal. All things considered, I'd come back once in a blue moon, but once they add more staff and have a more efficient process, I'd come back more often for those delicious crepes.

Rolled ice cream is made by flattening an ultra-thin layer of ice cream out and then rolling it up. See the videos I posted if you've never experienced it. The flavors of rolled ice cream that I tried are ube and blueberry. The blueberry had a blueberry puree on top. The ube was served with whipped cream and toasted coconut. Delightful. I only wish that I had a double espresso to go with it. The flavors of rolled ice cream that are most popular here, so far, are: 1.) Birthday Cake 2.) Strawberry Cheesecake, and 3.) Cookies and cream The team here was also passionate about the ube flavor. We also tried the strawberry yogurt shake, which was delicious. BTW, someone ordered a croffle and it smelled like a buttery breakfast. It is a croissant pressed into a waffle form. We *needed* to get one to share. They have many toppings, but if you're going to order this croffle for breakfast, the plain whipped cream (vs. the mango cream) is not sweet, but creamy and satisfying. The croffle is substantial and eggy. It is very surprising because it's hearty bite after bite. There are no light and flakey bites and before you know it, it's gone. You get your dollar's worth, here. It's a good breakfast. And you can dip the croffle into your house coffee which is even better. I also put some of the croffle cream into the coffee. The house coffee is made from a machine and tastes dark and sweet. Yum. I am wondering where else you would find this no-longer trending trend - of French rolled ice cream - in the DC area. I found 10 places on yelp but only 3 mentioned rolled ice cream in the search result descriptions. The staff here are friendly, informative and patient. The environment is simple, yet elegant. A definite new texture and flavor adventure was found here, to be sure. Thank you, Laurel!
