The food was good, however the girl taking my order was so rude. I had a coupon for a meal and when I told her that I had it she snatched it from my hand and rolled her eyes and kept glaring at me. Then after I paid she slammed the window shut (I was in drive through). She kept coming by the window and giving me dirty looks and when she handed my food she shoved it out the window and said "here" in a very rude tone. I thanked her and told her to have a good day and she rolled her eyes again I didn't see her name but she was a heavier girl with black hand and a butterfly tattoo on her hand. As she approached us, she rolled her eyes up and down and belittled the employee wanting to know why he couldn't handle my concern. I have been visiting the Montclair Burger King for the past few years and I want to commend the manager for running such a clean and fantastic operation. The food is fine - but it's not nearly as important as the cheerful, kind, helpful team that works there. I enjoy coming there just because of the employees. Young or older, they are wonderful. Last night was Brien and he performed an act of kindness that is seldom witnessed anymore but if you read the story of the Widow's Mite in Luke 21:1-4 you'll see the heart of Brien. This is the worst run BK I have ever been to eat. For some reason, my wife really likes Whoppers, so we go there occasionally. If there was another within 10 miles I would go there instead. If you use the drive through (thanks Covid) expect your order to be wrong. Today took the cake and I told the wife, sorry but no more. I had to repeat my order 3 times at the kiosk. Then I was asked it again at the window. Then I was asked if I paid already. Too bad I think of myself as honest. Then I was asked my order a fifth time (I'm not making this up!). This place sucks. Every time I go here, they screw up the simplest of orders. I order no onions, they screw that up. I ask for no cheese, they screw that up too. Every single time, they screw up something. Recently, I ordered two combo meals and an order of chicken nuggets. Guess what? No chicken nuggets. I went there with my boyfriend's dad and my boyfriend. They took our order( after they were done talking to eachother). when we got to the check out they continued to talk for a while, while we waited. When they got around to taking the card they only gave us the drinks then asked us to move forward. We waited for 25 minutes for 4 sandwiches, so my boyfriend's dad went inside to see what the hold up was only to have them tell him that they didn't start getting our order together. The mobile order was placed at 5:21pm on Saturday 4/29/23. Pickup time was to be 5:40. Got there at 5:37 and nobody was preparing the order. They continued to prepare drive thru orders for at least 10 minutes after I told them I was waiting for my pickup order. I walked out with my order over 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. Update- they have overhauled quite a bit and it is much better than before. Friendlier employees work here now and the food seems better. If you hate yourself then definitely visit the BK after 4pm. Then wait for the slowest service for the worst food to occur. Dining in be prepared to wait for your food up to 15 minutes, as the slow drive thru takes priority. The drive thru can take 5 to 8 minutes to wind through especially if they are busy. I have seen the employees hanging out on the outside table smoking and throwing their cups into the bushes. They don't care about their restaurant and they surely don't care about you. read more

I wish I could give it NO STARS! First of all I was excited to find out that BK had chicken biscuits--only to find out this BK had no biscuits today only croissants. Sorry, but I have to say something. The service was okay, but the Whoppers were horrible. The cheese was barely melted on the sandwich and from previous visits the chicken sandwiches were very dry. I use to enjoy your establishment, but this particular location has turned me off. By the way, one of your employees used the restroom and did not wash his hands when he left out, my son informed me because he saw him in the bathroom. Although he left the building when he left the restroom, that reflects negatively on your location and employee standards. I would give this Burger King a big 0 if I could. I've been there twice in the past year and both times the fries were cold and nasty. My burger on the one occasion was not good at all. I stopped going period. My kids placed an order last night and the manager failed to give them a fish sandwich. My daughter called once they got home and noticed it missing. The store was closed at that point but the manager answered and said to come back the next day for a refund. He did agree to also give them a sandwich. I heard the conversation because he was on the speaker. When they returned this evening, he denied everything and did not want to refund the money. He wanted to give them a fish sandwich. At that point they just wanted their money back because they had already eaten. He instead proceeded to argue with them and it escalated into more than it needed to. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The manager is a liar and rude. I went up there to speak to the manager because my kids were very upset. I just explained to him that it was not about the fish burger but the way he spoke to the kids and lied to them. He actually then told me that he had deleted the fish sandwich order out of the register because his district manager told him to. How could he do that after taking the money? I really don't think he learned anything from this incident. He needs lots of training...I would actually fire him. I can't even mention what he said but it was extremely rude and insulting. With all said, we will never step foot in that Burger King again. We will let our friends and neighbors know of the poor treatment and pass our story on to our fellow Montclairians. Oh, one more thing! One of the employees was sitting out side smoking. He actually laughed...which made me even angrier. This location is in my neighborhood so I tend to come here over McDonald's for convenience however no more! Enough is enough ! I placed my order through the app which tells you to verify "you're here" when you arrive. You then tell the person taking the orders and they should be able to provide your order. Instead !!! I did just that and they tried to make me pull off to the side while they provide others orders. It's terrible because what is the point of the app if you're going to have to wait longer for your meal than if you had placed it when you arrived. Then they all sat around talking about me and staring at me because I couldn't understand why I would need to wait off to the side. It's annoying and it's bad service. Came to the drive through 1 minute before they closed. A short Hispanic girl helped me out. Some of the ideas I tried to prefer weren't available which is understandable. She helped me pick out a few items they still had so I could bring food to my friends and was polite and did it with a smile. I've worked food industry before and understand that showing up before close is the worst time. She was extremely helpful and kind. Went with my mom and she ordered the #8 chicken sandwhich. When she opened the wrapper the sandwhich was clearly falling apart and burnt. I went to ask a manager if we could possibly get a different sandwhich and showed her the burnt meat. She quickly agreed and ordered another sandwhich to be made for us. As i went back to sit down i overheard another large group complaining about their burnt food and someone said that they are always burning their food everytime they eat there. We should have just headed home and had a PB & J. Anyway, it took about 10 minutes to get to the speaker, I ordered a kids hamburger meal with apple slices, apple juice and cookie. I had to repeat my order 5 times because each time they said it back it was WRONG. My 5 year old thought this was a funny game the man at the speaker was playing, me on the other hand, NOT! I get to the window to pay and the lady at the window tells me my total is nine fifty something and I said "Really? For what?" she says "2 kids nugget meals with extra cookies" At this point my 5 year old is laughing so hard he can hardly catch his breath (funny game again). We finally get the money/order/pay part done. I drive to the next window for the food and I just wanted to get the heck out of there I just took the bag and the juice and drove away. Every time we come to this location, they are disorganized and a complete mess the workers literally are standing around one on the sandwich line while the 3 others just stood around, the whopper burgers are half cooked, some of the time you don't even get what you ordered. Worst Burger King ever! After waiting 15 minutes in the drive-thru (with no other cars in line) I finally give my order -#1 with cheese, no onions, onion rings and a large vanilla iced coffee. Hot dogs taste pretty good but they are just luke warm. They need to be put in a steamer to make them nice and warm.
