Let's start with the positives The location is great, situated on DT Fleming beach associated with the Ritz Carlton hotel Small bar with approx 12 tables beach side Umbrellas in several tables to keep you from the sun if you wish. A selection of delectable shakes that everyone would love. My wife and I split a peanut butter shake that was hands down the best shake I have ever had. The menu is great, light bites and several varieties of their famous burgers and sandwiches. Where they fell down.... I ordered mine medium and the burger came out well done and unfortunately I didn't have time to send it back to the kitchen because I had a commitment back at the hotel. In turn what could have been a really nice experience wasn't so great. One recommendation to the Burger Shack.....offer regular French fries for those guests who do not light sweet potatoes.....lastly....please offer plates to your guests....it is next to impossible to eat out of that little box read more

Cool lunch spot! I enjoyed the adult milkshakes (Hula Girl with coconut rum). Lot's of out door seating and the view is to die for. I ordered the classic burger (medium rare) with salad instead of the sweet potato fries (extra $2.50 if you want to go the healthy route). My husband ordered the black bean burger and he said it was the best vegetarian/vegan burger he ever had. Burger Shack has homemade ketchup (very runny) and special hot sauce (tasty- but not so hot). We're ballin' on a budget on this trip so we didn't go for the ridiculously yummy looking burger but we did splurge on a shake and boy... It was WORTH. EVERY. CALORIE. We got the Kona shake, coffee ice cream and chocolate. Two of my favorite things. And they topped it with a cookie, chocolate syrup, chocolate covered espresso beans and chocolate sticks... OH. MY. Burger Shack is located on pristine coastline on Kapalua beach, within the spacious grounds of the Ritz-Carlton. Seat yourself down and watch the waves crash into the sand through the backdrop of palm trees. The Ritz-Carlton Signature Mai Tai was standout in strength and flavour. I suspect that the Almond Orgeat must be the winning ingredient. The burger menu is an impressive read. From Bison to vegetarian, it caters for many tastes. I ordered The Classic with cheese. A good choice, however the thick patty was more well done than medium as ordered. The staff were friendly, jovial and attentive. The Hawaiin guitar player was a brilliant touch and made the surrounds even more ideallic. The crowd seemed a little like family Summer Camp. Suitably refined and everything in place. I was glad to come back to this little place after two years! They used to have a full menu but now they only have burgers, shakes and drinks. I had a Mai Tai of course! It was amazing! Just as I remembered it! they make it super strong but amazing flavor, I think because they put mint on them. They are not cheap,so drink with moderation. Food- The burger menu is super interesting, they have all kind of crazy combinations and fancy burgers. I had a bison burger with blue cheese because it sounded good- It was SO YUMMY!! OMG!! I'm a bison lover and that has been so far the BEST BISON BURGER I have ever had! I got my burger with sweet potato fries. My husband had a regular cheeseburger, and he liked the quality of the bread as well as the meat. I was so sad I did not try their shakes, I saw a couple kids get some and they looked huge! Maybe next time lol. Something I really like about this place is their location, they are close to the D.T fleming beach park and in the Ritz. So you can see good surfing from the restaurant. A local recommended this place for their decadent milkshakes. We actually came here three times, all after being ravenous from the morning spent playing tennis and snorkeling in Kapalua. Our first meal in Kapalua, and definitely our best by far, was at the Burger Shack. With a view this nice, you almost expect the food to be mediocre - thankfully it was anything but! We split the The Molokai Runner (seared local mahi mahi sandwich) which was loaded with fresh, well-seasoned fish. Our attentive server Claudia split the sandwich and we each got our own basket with half the sandwich and a nice portion of the stellar sweet potato fries. She also had the kitchen split our Kula Crunch milkshake, which was awesome. (No one should be drinking a whole one of these on their own!) The restaurant is on the Ritz Carlton property right on Flemings Beach. There is a great view of the water from almost ever table. We came and sat at the bar for the World Series game. They have 4 beers on tap, I went with the Maui Brewing Co IPA. I got the classic, it comes with bacon, avocado, onion and tomato. The meat was high quality and it was cooked to perfection. I used the homemade ketchup, it was really good and had a sweet taste to it. My wife got the paniolo which came highly recommended by the server, she liked it. We each went for sweet potato fries, they were crispy which is always good and they had the good ranch. We finished with the nutty cocomel, it's a sugar bomb but on vacation who cares. There is a nutty butter and Reese's on top with plenty of whipped cream and chocolate sauce. We shared it, but it was delicious tasted like real peanut butter was used. The prices aren't cheap, it's a $25 burger, $10 shake and $8 beers, but the view is great and this has been our favorite restaurant on property. read more

The shape and texture of the beef gave me the distinct impression that these were pre-formed, frozen burger partties. The price was so outlandish it's comical ($25 for a burger, potato chips and a pickle). And on top of that, they have a SERIOUS chicken problem. The wild chickens were literally hopping up on tables, stealing people's food, and running away. I'm not kidding that I saw it happen at three separate tables during our visit.
