The Burger Shack is a beautiful location overlooking the surf and sound of Maui. The fish sandwich was excellent and the service from our Wisconsin transplant was excellent too. Bartender was good but we had to wait about 15 minutes for our drinks after paying upfront because she was having to change out three kegs by herself with no manager or dude to help her out; evidently management at this Ritz-Carlton property. The poor bar tender could have been selling more food and drinks which is the name of the game for business; however no bar-back or even management engagement. The Mai Tai was good when finally received but I was frankly ready to cancel my order. Wife's chocolate coco peanut butter drink was a great dessert first drink but took forever to make. Bartender did apologize for the wait but a little late. I don't mind if not busy but the bartender had to do it all.

We did not stay at the Ritz, but saw this restaurant on Tik Tok and we wanted to give it a try. It's a casual restaurant on the Ritz's property at the back of the resort. They serve American classics such as burgers, salads, and shakes (plus full-service bar of course). The menu is extremely pricy ($32 for the burger + fries, ~$12-15 for the shake) however it's at the Ritz, so that's expected. You get to see the beach from the restaurant, and potentially enjoy the private beach if you have all your beach gear with you.

We stopped here for lunch before we went swimming at Flemings beach. They prepared the food really fast. The wind was pretty aggressive when we were here so that was the only bummer, since all the seating is outside. The milkshakes are really good!

First time here for lunch, great burgers, and some of the best Milkshakes our burgers were Wagu the fries

Ate lunch at the burger shack on a Sunday afternoon. It was lovely sitting under the umbrellas next to the water on such a beautiful day. The waitress was very nice and kind, especially knowing that we were locals. My friend and I shared the double stack Wagyu burger, which was more than enough for us. The burger was so juicy and very tasty. Easily one of the best burgers I've had. We were so full that we were not able to order a shake, but from what I hear the shakes are legendary. We will have to order shakes next time! Great atmosphere will definitely come back again.

Came here for lunch. Open seating and we are lucky we got here when we did because once we sat down people started to come. Dennis, our server came quick once we sat down and took our order. He was great! We all liked our food. My mom and I got the Katsu Katsu sandwich and she said it was spicy for her but not for me because I love spicy! Our drinks were yummy! My mom's margarita was not shy on alcohol but get your moneys worth! Perfect place to eat and chill by the beach!

4 1/2? Really pleasantly surprised. The milk shakes were excellent. I'm normally not a milkshake gal, but I had a few of the different milkshakes and was thoroughly impressed. I pounded it down like no one's business. The burgers were also very good. I think Burger Shack had the best burgers of the entire property. Amazing, gorgeous views, great food, and a solid burger. Can't go wrong.

Great view of the water! Convienant spot to eat after hiking the Kapalua coastal trail. The food is all fresh and the ranch tastes homemade as well. Service was quick and we were able to sit down at a table right away.

You're definitely paying for the view, but oh, what a view it is! The hostess seated us and was very accommodating when we asked to move. Our server did a great job and took a moment to take a few photos for us. We both got burgers, which we enjoyed. Maybe not $30 per burger worth of enjoyment but again, you're paying for that sweet ocean view!

The milkshake was INSANE!!! We got the whiskey one with bacon and it was jaw dropping. This is what you need to get when you come here they are the star of the show!!!! The burgers were okay nothing really special but the milkshakes save it. Sooo good must try!! Not the mention the absolute beautiful view of the ocean. We came after the beach and it was a perfect ending to our day. Would highly recommend coming here for lunch.

Quick lunch by Dragon's Teeth. Burger was very good and juicy. Service was quick. The views were also nice since we were by Konokahua Bay.

Cheeseburger and fries $30. Mai tai in the background $25

It was expensive, but to be expected. I went with the double fish entree and it escapes me what two fish, but it truly was delicious and maybe the best meal on my limited trip to Maui. The ube bread was dough and delicious smothered in their compounded butter. The cocktail was good. My kids ordered ice cream sandwiches, which we were told were small, but they were actually quite big, to the kids happiness. The service was slower, but the place was packed. My cousins ordered cocktails and our server was so kind to let them know if they weren't happy with it, they could exchange it which they did. The first course of delicious appetizers was the Caesar salad with anchovies and the Kahuku Sweet Corn Agnolotti with Keahole lobster! That was so buttery delicious and small enough to make you want more! The homemade taro rolls with butter, oil and honey was a nice accompaniment. Our second course was just right portion wise and savory. My cousin even said he was full, which never happens since he loves to eat! We enjoyed the 48-hour Wagyu Prime Rib which was so tender and easily cut with a butter knife. Yummy dollops of potato purée and broccolini were beautifully placed around the meat. My other cousin enjoyed his Shrimp Scampi with fresh house made tagliatelle, capers, Kula tomato and basil. The dessert course was a great way to end our meal. I got the Pineapple Upside Down cake with a scoop of Ube Ice Cream, biscotti crumble and Kula Rum Caramel. My cousin's panna cotta was made with local Maui Kuia Chocolate and chantilly cream with a tuile that had light sprinkle of black pepper. Their pineapple upside down cake was yummy and warm too. Their normal price seems really steep though and the views aren't that good. As for service, all of our servers were friendly and made small talk with us, and delivered every plate with a smile. Overall solid 4/5, 3.5 if I had to pay full price.

There is indoor and outdoor seating for dining. The service is excellent. Our server was very attentive, friendly and very helpful. The Food is Off the highest quality. American Waygu burger sliders - 5/5 The Waygu burger patties were very delicious. They were cooked perfectly medium so the sliders were tender and juicy! Along with the scallion rice, this selection was outstanding. Diver Scallops & Clam Curry - 5/5 The scallops were very succulent and tender. The green coconut curry boosted the flavor, and the clams were easy to pull out of their shells. The shrimp shu-mais were tender and delicious. The idea was to have a special dinner with an iconic sunset view with my wife for her birthday. What I got was rushed into a table that barely had room for 2 serving spaces and LITERALLY obstructed view of the entire ocean. Merriman's should be ashamed to even have a table in this space. We were not "inside" but 2 sides of the table abutted a support column that 100% obstructed any kind of plausible view of the ocean. We arrived on time, for a table reserved 60 day in advance but the seating we were given would have been barely acceptable for a walk in, take anything available option. The entire experience was absolutely anything but special, $330 and I have to sit in an awkward side angled position, not even across from my wife, with a view of 2 walls that I could have gotten in a strip mall fast casual restaurant? It's clear they don't care, and it is just another table to turn 3-4 times a day and rake in the $$. I absolutely advise anyone to steer clear, this is like ordering an amazing sunset birthday dinner and getting the TEMU version. The food was good, but server was not attentive and seemed overly busy and had zero interest in guiding our choices, instead was "here's the menu, let me know what you want". Total and utter disappointment from the minute we walked in until we left. In the moment they were extremely busy so it's not like there were other table options. On a special occasion I do expect I need to ask to not stare at a wall, for a place heralded for sunset views. Merriman's should be ashamed for even having a seat so awful and awkward. Do not risk your special occasion on a place that is overcrowded, overpriced and completely underwhelming in every single aspect!

So if that's a big part of what other folks love about Sea House, we came at a time when that's not a factor. Service was super nice - both our servers and the hostesses. I appreciate that they have choices for vegans, vegetarians, carnivores and pescatarians. Tables outside were nice enough - but I'd say that indoors needs a refresh. It had a 1980s Ramada Inn hotel restaurant vibe. People seemed happy inside - it just seemed more like a place for folks who have visited here for decades than a place with a trendy interior. Drinks: cocktail list was a little more tropical-traditional than cutting-edge mixology, but what they make seems well done. I decided "when in Rome" - & got a frozen coconut mojito. It was definitely tasty & came with the expected brain freeze. Bread: 2 complimentary rolls (in contrast to restaurants that make you pay for fancier & tastier pull apart rolls). They were fine, not memorable. Salad: we split the MOLOKA'I WATERMELON SALAD, which was the most interesting salad on the menu: Makawao Farm arugula + Kumu Farm watermelon + sheep milk feta + Kula sweet onion + EVOO + aged balsamic. It was refreshing and tasty - and they kindly split it for us in the kitchen. Definitely big enough for two people to split, so a great value for $18. Entree: can't remember what my sweetie got but it was "some kind of meat" and he thought it was fine LOL. I got the LOCAL MUSHROOM RISOTTO: it comes with a kind of brown sauce (mushroom, cheese), rather than just being in a broth. But the rice was firm, and I really liked the local mushrooms. It won't win contests, but is a very nice (and also very generously sized) dish for a vegetarian. Overall, we had a very nice time here, though we didn't think that the food overall was quite as good as the best places we enjoyed on our vacation. If the view is spectacular during the day, then that probably tips it over the edge. But we still enjoyed our meal. Mahalo!
