We were stuck in the traffic from an accident and it was 10 minutes to their closing time and the sweet young lady was apologetic in that she told us that it was take out only...they gave us fresh food and great service despite the fact that they were wanting to go home...the western bacon cheeseburger was delicious and only needed a little more barbecue sauce to be awesome...and the fries were crispy and fresh as well...this is a good little spot and we appreciated their great service on a cold foggy night read more

Old school all the way. Had a double bacon cheese with the works. Red onion let you know it was there without overpowering the burger. Juicy and tasty across the board. Frie and Pepsi rounded out the meal. The service was stellar. We got it to go, but would recommend eating in. The burgers can get a bit messy! read more

Came on here to drop a few photos and apparently I'm not the only one with this problem! Their version of a "avocado bacon" burger is not quite what most would think it is. Apparently here you get 1 piece of bacon and two pieces of bad avocado and slim trimmings. The pictures say it all and when you call to hopefully get a replacement you get rude employees. read more

One of my favorite little stops. A classic little burger joint. Delicious fried comfort food! They even have an ostrich burger! If your looking for a local little hometown feel stop in here for a bite. Everything cooked when ordered.. nothing under heat lamps... zucchini and fries are my fav!! This is a fantastic little burger joint right along the main road in historic Tehachapi. It is a unique mom and pop place that has mementos on the walls, people are familiar and friendly to one another, and has amazing burgers! The Avocado Bacon Burger, what I had, was delicious! My husband strongly recommends the Western Burger. It looked tasty. It was nice to see a broad selection of burgers and sides. I may have to try the veggie burger next time. I know my kids are going to love this place! read more

My mother-in-law was raised in this town so needless to say she has enjoyed this place since it was new with the original owners. My husband & his family have enjoyed it decade after decade. He has since introduced it to me. I love it too. We pass through there once or twice a year & always make it a point to stop in both ways to get the best burgers we've ever had. If you want the best burger on your way through, this is the place to go. So glad this place with it's long history & memories is still around doing it right. read more

We tried this place for the first time and were totally surprised!! Honestly, we delayed coming here because of some of the poor reviews that we had read. We were completely astonished!! The food is excellent, hot, and flavorful. We ordered the Angus burgers with fries and zucchini. The buns were so soft and fresh and the meat was cooked perfect with a little crispiness. Even the milkshakes were top notch!! We can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu. We also loved the 60's decor. Sorry we waited so long!! read more

For personable service and friendliness they deserve a 5. This Burger Spot has big bay windows, the kind you want when you want to see what is going on in the bay, but of course it's Tehachapi, in the mountains! You get a view of what's going on downtown on the main strip while eating. Cool! I ordered the zucchini sticks. They were fresh, and hot, straight from the vat . Good job! The ranch dressing was delicious and cool. My Fountain drink Pepsi was flat and had a slight faint taste of syrup. The fountain drinks are why I stopped here...to get a cold fountain drink before hitting the Apple Festival. So slight disappointment but they were so gracious. They replaced it with a bottled Pepsi and tall glass of crushed ice but fountain is always better. Hopefully Pepsi will service their machine soon. They did say that they had just changed the soda but I think that Pepsi needs to service. read more

New owners are liars and cheaters. I had a bacon cheeseburger with only one piece of bacon on it. Someone else in my party got a 1/4 lb angus burger, but it was still the regular meat patty, when he brought it to counter, the lady said it was the angus patty and that its a leaner patty than the regular meat. The fries and zucchini were good. I guess theres a reason why that place is always empty inside. read more

Came here as a kid with my grandparents.. 35 years later the place is still virtually the same, in fact the lady that took my order told me the grill is the same grill they had back in the day.. Got a cheeseburger combo with fries for a decent price. The burger tasted as good as I remembered back long ago.. Its nice to see this place still going strong. Good burgers, good prices, and friendly service.. Will definitely stop in the next time I'm in the area. read more

A great little greasy spoon. I've been going there for years. Very efficient workers. I've never been given the wrong order in all the years I've been going there.. I mainly go there for the ostrich burger and I usually get a fry too, but they have been burning the fries a little bit and you can taste the grease, but the ostrich burgers are excellent. read more

Exited Highway 58 to stop for gas and find a good place to eat. My boyfriend and I were craving burgers and decided to give this place a shot. Customer service was very friendly and quick. I ordered the avocado bacon burger and it was well cooked and the fries were also well seasoned. The place was clean including bathrooms, and they had the music at a perfect volume. They had 1950s-60's vibes on the walls like Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles, etc. Overall a good place to stop for a quick meal. read more

We make everything the old fashioned way. No burger hits the grill until you ask for it. Serving: Ostrich Burgers, Angus Bugers, and Teriyaki Bowls. All drinks served with flake (shaved) ice. Add vanilla or cherry to add a flavor to the drink. Serving Tehachapi since "1956"!

History

Established in 1956.

First fast food restaurant opened in Tehachapi. Store first opened by Mr & Mrs John Cash and many owners have switched hands from 1956 to 2004. Mr. & Mrs. Alex Lee have operated the restaurant since 2005 and many upgrades have been made to this historical site in Tehachapi. No previous owners have made better improvements than the current owners. New parking lot, new neon signs, and fully renovated dining areas. Best of all, nothing hits the grill until the orders are made like the old traditional way. Upgrade menu with Teriyaki Bowls and Mexican food.
