World Famous Pastrami. That is the sign that caught my attention everyday for the 7 nights we spent in the area. After speaking to Brittany, I knew that I had to try Frosty King's Pastrami. My wonderful wife and I shared a Pastrami sandwich combo. The crinkle cut fries were good. The Pastrami sandwich was even better. It was definitely one of the better ones I've ever eaten. That combo meal filled us up, and the price was fair. Next time we stay in the Tehachapi area, we will stop by Frosty King again. Took the family to a quick dinner here because the kids wanted to go. The food was pretty good and with generous portions. Good service with nice employees to help you out with anything you crave. Very rude employee working drive-thru. I guess we interrupted the conversation she was already having with her co-workers by attempting to order some food. She was very impatient, super rude, cut us off when we tried to clarify our order... and we could still hear her talking to coworkers through the speaker as we pulled away. After we got our order, we checked it and it was wrong. Of course she did not give us a receipt. We pulled into the parking lot and I went inside to tell her what we were missing (nicely.) Again, she was completely rude. If she had been doing her job in the first place and paying attention when we ordered, she would have gotten the order correct, as we repeated it more than once. I have only been here a couple times and its always OK. This time I really just came for the fries, those were exactly what I wanted. I think the price to food value is a little off, the prices seem a little steep. I got the chicken sandwich, it was tasty but the chicken patty was so small it was dwarfed by the bun and trimmings. We went Frosty King this evening. Ordered hamburgers, chicken burgers, taquitos, chili, and fries. The hamburgers were really dry, and tastless. The taquitos were awful. The fries were not fresh. The only thing I could eat was the chili. My husband ate his chicken burger, but added his own condiments, to add taste. We paid 31.00 bucks for most of the order that went to the trash. On a whim, we decided to look for some ice cream while traveling from the bay area to the eastern sierra. We found Frosty King on yelp and decided to go on an ice cream adventure! We were not prepared for the good service and the incredibly delicious eats! It's true that they have delicious ice cream. My wife had a Sunday and I had a malt. It was like going back to the 1960s, when a malt really tasted like a malt! We also had a hamburger, and when I bent into it I felt like a kid again, when fast food was actually super delicious! The fries were also crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfection! No wonder there was a constant line of cars in the drive-through and everyone inside was super busy. I've only been through the drive-through and I've gotten multiple things are pastrami is excellent. Their ice cream is just delicious and their burgers are really good. I come here often for iced tea. I love Frosty, but sometimes when the employee takes my order they seem irritated I am there, giving them my business. Fresh tea at a good price is hard to come by but this is definitely my place and I will occasionally get an order of mushrooms which are amazing. Ordered a salad and found a fly in it while I was eating it. Called for a manager and spoke to what appeared to be a regular employee. When I advised this employee that I found a fly in my salad I was told that they have no flies in his restaurant. I also advised him to check the salad for the rest of the customers and he explained that would get to it. Yea rite! Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here. One of the employees accidentally took a phone order while I was just calling to check on prices. I called to see if Frosty King can remake my order since my food was cold when I received it I let them know that I touched my food but they insisted on refrying it and asking the manager to be sure. I showed up to the location, asking for the manager to clarify that I did not make a phone order, but simply was checking on prices the manager stated "this is pissing him off" at this point I felt attacked. I asked one of the employees what the manager name was because when I spoke with the manager, he did not introduce himself or was not wearing a name tag the employee stated that she could not give out the managers name because the manager gets angry so the employee refused to give me his name. As I went back to see if they can remake my order they also forgot to give me a drink I ordered for my child. It's the only fast food that I will eat at in Tehachapi. All other fast food locations are in cockroach town, because Tehachapi is actually infested with cockroaches. As an old fashioned style burger joint, this place is A-OK. They have some interesting burger and chicken sandwich choices. Ortega chilies, avocado, bacon are just some of the toppings on their sandwiches. They also have some good sides like fries, zucchini and fried mushrooms. I ordered a burger combo with fries and a drink. I really wanted the fried mushrooms but the food here is expensive for a fast food joint and I didn't want to pay $4 for mushrooms on top of the $7 for a burger. I did really enjoy my fries though. Thick cut and seasoned with seasoning salt. They were the star of this show. The burger was alright but nothing special. It was a burger as standard as could be. The one exception was the sauce. I'm not entirely sure what it is but it is most definitely unique to this restaurant. That was a nice touch but not enough to take the burger over the top. If I have the opportunity to come by Frosty King again, I still want to try the fried mushrooms. I could pass on a burger. Maybe I would try the pastrami sandwich. That is if I am to try it again. Milkshake Review......My sons and I take an annual trip to Brite for some camping, fishing and bonding. On the last day, on the way home to Bakersfield we always stop here for a well deserved milkshake. They are a little pricey but oh so good. If I could give 0 stars, I would. To be honest, I cant rate the food because thanks to the complete lack of customer service, I didnt eat there. I walked in with my daughter and as she was ordering her food (we make her order so she learns to interact with other people), she asked what drinks they had. The young lady refused to tell her, and just rolls her eyes at my daughter, steps aside and points to the drink machine. My daughter is 6 and tells her she cant read them. The young lady still refused to tell her, so I had to read them to my daughter. Finally I decided that the poor service of the employee was enough for me to take my business somewhere else and we left. I went to Frosty King in Tehachapi last night. They had a ton of options but not exactly what I was craving a chili cheese burger. So I was ordering a reg cheeseburger and chili side and then I mentioned that what I really wanted. My server said with a smile I can make it however you like if I have the ingredients just tell me what you want and we will do it no problem. It was perfectly made and delicious. It has been so long since I had this kind of service. Thankfully we ended up there after passing on a sonic burger. I wasn't into the kiosk ordering. I was tired hungry and just wanted a good meal without any hassle. I thanked the server and complimented him for taking the initiative to go the extra mile without me having to ask and all with a smile.
