The food was good but service was ridiculous. A friend and I had bought a coupon book in support of the local high schools baseball team- one coupon being burger up. The coupon gave us a free milkshake with a purchase of a burger. Each of us being on separate checks and had our own separate coupons. I stopped in here mid-afternoon one Saturday when I was so hungry I might have willingly eaten my own foot. I sat at the bar and it took more than a few minutes for the bartender to notice me. I ordered a glass of wine and the grilled avocado burger (at the same time, due to lack of attention, but at the bar its not that big of a deal). I was not asked how I wanted my burger cooked, nor did I think to tell her before it was too late. The dressings on the grilled avocado burger were really tasty, but the meat was overcooked and below-average flavor and texture. If I had been served this exact burger at a Chilis or TGIFridays type of restaurant, I would have thought it was par for the course. Considering Burger UP is a gourmet burger specialty restaurant, it fell way below par. The only other comparative burger place I've been to is Burger Republic, and I can't honestly say that Burger UP can come close the burger served at Burger Republic. It was worth a shot, but I wasn't impressed with the food or the service. read more

Wow. This is one of the most attentive and delicious restaurants I have been to! Organic, farm to table food that I feel good about feeding my family. Went with my husband and 15 month old. Baby was getting antsy right after we ordered and a wonderful waitress who wasn't ours noticed and brought him apples! We didn't ask, she just brought them. Amazing. He calmed down instantly and we had a wonderful, quiet meal. We had: fried pickle chips, the grilled avocado burger with truffle fries, black and blue burger with fries and the slider without cheese for the munchkin. This place COULD be amazing. At present, it is not. What's good: * The menu CONCEPT. Great ideas, nice flavor palettes. Farm-to-table: yay. * The decor CONCEPT. Cool, contemporary. * The service. Our Robert Downey Jr. look-alike waiter was a doll. :-) * The wine list. Very nice, albeit small, selection, with some Frenchies in there. What's not: * The menu EXECUTION. Grossly overcooked bison burger, grossly undercooked truffle fries. Dry and mealy 4-5 oz. burger, soggy, soft fries. Ugh. * The decor execution. I have never sat on such uncomfortable chairs. I am not one to suffer for fashion. * Cleanliness level. The floor under our table was disgusting. There are large area rugs in the restaurant that people drop French fries and food all over, and all the staff does is sweep it up. I cannot imagine how filthy those rugs are. A real turn-off. Also, the housemade ketchup (also meh) bottle was sticky and gross. Menus had stains all over them. Ugh again. * The name. "Burger Up" conjures red formica tables with molded plastic scoop chairs. Couldn't be a worse or more misrepresentative name. * The prices. Two burgers and fries, with 4 drinks: $70. Come on. * The location. This restaurant does not belong in a strip mall. It belongs in E. This place is outstanding. I get the Woodstock with truffle fries. Service is good, hip atmosphere, and my 5 year old loves it too. Appetizers not the best. I got the fried mushrooms and they weren't great. If you go(and you should) just go for burgers and truffle fries. read more

I went to lunch with my fiancé today at burger up and our experience was phenomenal thanks to our server, Reid. He went above and beyond to make sure we had an exceptional experience. Our table was a little wobbly, so he immediately got a rubber piece to stick under the foot of the table. He constantly filled up our drinks (and we drink a lot- my fiancé even ordered two drinks, coke and sweet tea) and we had at least three refills for each drink!it was just the little things that made this lunch so amazing. My wife and I tried Burger Up for the first (and last) time last night. We checked their web site and while we do not choose to eat based on price I was a little stunned that their burgers were $9 and up but decided that since that included all you can eat fries we would give it a try. I tried the Woodstock burger and the taste was fine, though nothing speciial. The patty was literally 1/2 half the size of my wife's burger. I would guess it to be no more than 4 oz. The bacon helped but don't expect to get your money's worth unless you really like fries. read more

I used to live two blocks down from the Burger Up on 12 South and ate there regularly. When I moved to Franklin I was excited there was a Burger Up there as well, but my experiences with eating at the Cool Springs location have been 100% negative. The food isn't as good, and I have NEVER ordered take out from there and come home to the order being correct. Most of the time my food is cold. Tonight I placed an order prior to leaving work and was 20 minutes late arriving to the restaurant. I paid for my meal and waited 20 minutes to get my food. When I got in the car on the way home, I discovered the meal they gave me was wrong. I went BACK to the restaurant and the manager was incredibly rude and dismissive, never apologized even though I was overcharged and my food was sitting there the whole time. My burgers were cold and fries soggy when I got home. I will never make the mistake of eating there again or endorsing such an incompetent and unhelpful management team and staff. read more

We've tried a couple of the burger places around town, but this one WINS! The service is friendly and attentive, and every single bite was excellent. We ordered the fried pickle app with home made ranch and it was perfectly crispy with a quality pickle- definitely not a cheap Vlasic or something. I ordered a classic burger and subbed the fries for a wedge salad. It was WOW! Perfectly cooked, Bentons bacon (if you don't know, you're missing out!) and fresh local ingredients. My hubby tried the Ramsey witch had bentons bacon, pimento cheese, and the regular fixings. He also got the included fries witch I could not stop stealing! Love, love, love, love, love Burger Up Cool Springs! They are family-friendly and provide coloring pages and kids books for entertainment and bring out fries and apple slices during ordering so the kids can go ahead and eat. I usually can't talk myself out of getting the Bison Burger and sweet potato fries when I'm there, but when I can, the burger nachos, Woodstock burger and Pimento Cheese burger are AH-MAZ-ING. And as for other reviewers saying that it is expensive for a burger, it's certainly not expensive for organic, locally-sourced beef. read more

Having only been to Burger Up Cool Springs once before, when a Sharing Spree deal popped up a few months ago it seemed like the perfect opportunity to try it out again. My husband and I went for dinner a few nights ago and had a great experience! I went pretty basic with my burger choice and opted for the Woodstock (homemade ketchup, white cheddar cheese and Benton's bacon), and my husband was a tad more daring with the highly recommended Ramsey (pimiento cheese and Benton's bacon). He got the house fries (of which you can get unlimited refills!) and I went for the sweet potato fries (with the best aioli dipping sauce). And because we don't get a date night very often, we splurged on the Krispy Kreme bread pudding, which was wonderful! The service was great and the food was even better - I would highly recommend Burger Up Cool Springs to anyone. read more

I'm still relatively new to the Nashville area and coming from Orlando, BurgerFi is my idea of an amazing burger so needless to say I've been searching for a burger of similar quality around the Franklin/Nashville area and had high hopes for Burger Up. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty chill and casual...nice but not overly so. I sat at the bar for lunch and the bartender was nice i guess but definitely did not leave a lasting impression, he was just there. I just went for a classic cheeseburger with nothing special on it because I believe if you have a good burger you should be able to at least do the basics right. I was a under impressed...there just wasn't much taste to it at all and they put a TON of mustard on it for some reason. The bun was borderline stale and the burger was just okay but nothing to brag about and I can't say this fulfilled my craving at all. Might visit again, might not. read more

Not to be too hard, but Burger Up is a lot of hype but low on delivery. For starters, it is a bit over-the-top on the local / organic / grass fed / sustainable... (Read the posts in the restrooms about their philosophy. Not sure if it's meant to be funny or legit.) Beyond the hype, the portions are fair to small and in my experience, the most expensive burgers I've seen. They up their game with endless fries but it seems disingenuous (or like the "fill up on bread before the meal" approach -- in this case "fill up on fries after your burger doesn't make the grade"). As far as ambiance and comfort, if you're OK with backless wood benches and being very loud (if the restaurant is full), then you may not mind. In full disclosure, my wife loves their buffalo burger so I've encouraged to go with her friends :-) If you've not tried The Bunganut Pig, check my review and check them out. read more

I will give the Lamb Burger I had a grade above average. Coming from Colorado, I have experienced some pretty exceptional burgers, and I was hoping this would be my new local find. I sat at the bar, and the bar tender was amazing -- warm, friendly, helpful. He recommended a great beer (Black Abbey Rose). I had a classic cheeseburger and it was nothing special - just a normal cheeseburger. The truffle fries, on the other hand, were amazing. There are better burger places, I won't be back. read more

We have been to Burger Up fairly regularly over the 3+ years we have lived in Franklin. We have had some good experiences there, but tonight was absolutely awful. My wife got the avocado burger with sweet potato fries, and a cocktail to go with it. The burger tasted completely unseasoned and had no flavor, and the fries were so soggy they were inedible. The drink she ordered was $11, and the tiny glass was so fill of ice that the drink was gone in 2 or 3 sips. My daughter got the grilled cheese, and that came out so rock hard that we had to send it back. My bacon burger was edible, but far below average, and a letdown from what I have expected from here. I absolutely do not mind paying for good food and drink, but that was the worst $60+ I have spent on a family meal in a long time. If it was one bad burger, I could easily dismiss it. However, the entire meal was vastly subpar, and I can assure you there are way better places to get a burger in this town. On a positive note, our waitress was very nice and responsive. read more

i have only had a few burgers from there, but the hawaiian is by far my favorite, the best savory bacon in the world, the most perfectly cooked beef with the sweet flavor of the grilled pineapple made it one of the best burgers ive had in my life. they have a nice big alcohol menu, and the service is good but its kinda slow. the fries are good too just wish they were a lite crispier. great meal for the money. read more
