I am sorry for one star. However, I read reviews before entering and thought that most were just being negative. Honestly, for what I just eat and paid for, McDonalds is better. Yes McDonalds. I got a Woodstock and fries. The bun was about the size of a double cheeseburger bun at McDonalds, The meat really didn't have a taste to it, the bacon tasted like it was deep fried in two week old grease, and the fries seemed like were warmed up in the microwave. The "homemade" ketchup, not good either. Now, on to the service, I know these waitress's make low hourly wage and depend on tips, however, to get a tip you have to take care of your customers. I had to ask for coke, even though she walked by twice and looked at my empty glass ( I had already drank the melted ice) the third time she walked by I had to ask her even though she looked at the empty glass to bring me a coke. Then I asked for mayo Joe she said ok and then waited on another table. Maybe its just me but...The only smile I got was when I was leaving and then I bet she didn't smile when she picked up the receipt. I will not come back. And take heave, don't be like me. We just left Burger Up for the last time! Had the absolute worst service and food imaginable! Fries were COLD. Burger was horrible. My husband and son didn't care for their food at all. First time, really was looking forward based on these reviews. It wasn't busy, but we waited a very long time to get salads. I ordered the Holiday salad with beef patty (wasn't asked how we wanted it cooked), and ask the waitress to leave the cranberries off to due allergies. The burgers came and were very cold and dry. The cranberries were left off but yellow raisins were added. I advised the waitress that raisins weren't suppose to come on them, per the menu, and that I couldn't have them. she was adamant they did and made it out to be my mistake in not asking for them to be left off. Since I had been waiting so long and my over cooked burger was getting colder, I decided to pick the raisins off. After ten minutes of picking through my salad, she came with our check. I showed her that the menu doesn't say the Holiday salad has yellow raisins as part of the salad, but the waitress continued to argue that they do. I told her a second time that I was allergic and her response was I should have sent it back to have them make another. By this time we had already paid the bill and could see that she was not going to be the least bit concerned, so we left, vowing to NEVER return! There was nothing special or exceptional about the 2 pounds of arugala and burger patty for $16 a person! The meat was over cooked and tasteless! Great service, quick and efficient. Bison burger was great and sweet potato fries done well. Three stars because my Kale Salad had cashews instead of roasted hazelnuts and dried cranberries instead of dried cherries and I wasn't informed of the change- I had never been here before so I thought I had mixed up two salads and ordered the wrong one. When I double checked later on for sure had different ingredients than listed on the menu. Didn't worry about sending back- the salad was fine but not a $10 salad for sure. read more

Overall a cozy place. Nice staff, no complaints there. But ketchup exploded out the bottle on me. Being from idaho, I know fries and the truffle fries were limp and kinda gross. Burger was on par with some restaurants that don't specialize on just that. Personally the food there needs to burger up to do the restaurant justice. Went for a family meal. This area 12 South is in a great location and reminds me of Uptown Minneapolis. This restaurant was great. The staff, from greeter to waiter, we're friendly, helpful and quick. Waiter suggested an excellent local beer and our food was made to order, fresh and delicous. We had one salad, one burger and a turkey burger. All great. The place was clean and comfortable. We will return and highly recommend it. read more

My 18 year old daughter ate at Burger Up on 7/16/17 at around 6:30 PM with one other person. She had a waiter with a beard and gauge earrings. Her bill was $14.20 and when she paid with a $20 bill, she received $3 back in change. She thought it was an innocent mistake, and simply asked the waiter about it. He then replied saying "well were you going to stiff me?" and proceeded to tell her that waiters there carry their own pay. She told him that she just wanted to make sure that money wasn't dropped, because she didn't want to leave with the $3 assuming he took the other $3.80 and not leave a tip. He replied saying "well are we good?" We have a family of 5, and eat here often, 3 to 4 times a month, and it is very disappointing to see my daughter being treated in this way when her parents are not with her. Waiters should not be deducting their own tip from a bill and should treat everyone with respect, and it is concerning to see this kind of service at one of our favorite restaurants. read more

Disclaimer: This review has nothing to do with the food. The food was solid and the music was really good. The real issue here is a particular male server with a nose ring and a missing lip piercing. Looks like he would be named Zack with a k, but I don't actually know his name. Also had a douchey backwards hat so you know he means business. This man decided that he was going to walk over to our table after we had paid. He took a deep breath and asked if he had done something wrong in an aggressive tone. We answered no even though he had neglected our table from the jump. He then preceded to tell us his hourly wage and how he deserves to be tipped unless we were poor. We felt very uncomfortable and attacked by what he brought to the table. We quickly left as we feared returning. We normally tip, but this man hardly ever came to our table so we felt that it was justified to only tip a little bit. We will not be returning to Burger Up. We will go to Burger Shack (highly recommend it), BurgerFi, or Burger Republic instead. :/ read more

The truffle fries are ridiculously good. Burgers are outstanding, and they use local beef. Love that! Cool atmosphere, too. Favorites include the Lamb Burger and another with a fried egg and beat slice on it (drawing a blank on the name). This is a great place to meet someone for lunch. read more

This location should not share a name with the 12South location, they're like two different worlds. I have dined at the 12South location over a dozen times, and have never had a negative experience. This trip to the Cool Springs location was my first, and last trip. My burger came out I correct not once, not twice, but FOUR times. And when it came out for the last time it STILL had the bun (even though my order was for a bun less burger). The grilled cheese that came out for my nephew was magically a peanut butter & jelly. When it was finally corrected, it was rock hard. Is this even the same place as the 12South location? If so, what terrible continuity. Thank goodness I know the 12South location is reliable bc this was just downright awful. The kicker was that the manager visited every table around ours EXCEPT for ours. Awesome customer service (NOT!). I will never go back to this location, ever. Do yourself a favor in Cool Springs & choose another place to eat. read more

If you going to this restaurant, you will probably have a great experience as the staff seems to be nice and courteous except of course for the hostess stand. Calling into this restaurant for in order to go the hostess stand and all Who answer the phone act like they are doing a favor to you by answering the damn phone. Save your money, McDonald's is better. Just ate at this flip burger and it was horrible food with horrible service. The restaurant was almost completely empty, but they tried to seat us at the worst table available sandwiched between two other groups. They got upset when we asked for a different table, though with persistence they eventually let us move. Our waiter got upset with me for asking what the sides with the kid's menu were, and upset with my wife for asking for crayons. ( They have no crayons despite the kid's menu having a coloring page, and the sides for kid's meal are fries no substitutes ). After his initial visit, he never came back to take our order. I had to go find him in the back, and when he came over he asked us "What do you need?" in a very put upon tone. I think he forgot that he was a waiter. When the food finally came out, it was dry, salty, and the patties themselves were very small. My wife sent her sandwich back, and while the second try was much better, by this time we were all ready to go. Whenever we wanted service, we had to flag down someone to bring our waiter. I think the manager came out, but he never identified himself as such. He was able to bring out our bill quickly, but he offered no apology nor did he ask my wife if the second burger was better or to her liking. The entire experience was very poor, and afterward I am left trying to figure out which was worse the food or the service. This was our First time eating at Burger Up in Cool Springs. We were greeted at the door and taken to our table on the outside covered patio area. Our party consisted of 5; of which 2 were vegetarians. First impressions are everything and not only did we LOVE the atmosphere but we also LOVED the fact that the food is locally sourced. My BIGGEST reason for writing this review is because of the 5 STAR SERVICE WE RECEIVED FROM KRISTIAN. He was VERY knowledgeable about the entire menu; helped our party whom were vegetarians pick the perfect dinner items and was so responsive to our entire dinning experience. Our glasses were NEVER EVEN HALF EMPTY and our table was always kept clean of any used/finished dishes. If you plan a lunch or dinner out and want a GREAT experience with very reasonable prices, FANTASTIC FOOD GROWN LOCALLY, make sure to visit Burger Up Cool Springs.........and do your self a huge favor; ask to be seated in Kristian's seating area; his service is impeccable.......I felt like I was being waited on by a server at a 5 Star Restaurant in New York.........WILL BE BACK WITH MORE FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND SOON........ read more
