Came here on day 2 of its opening and this place was slammed. Reminiscent of Five Guys Burgers and Fries, prices and quality of food are comparable, but they serve beer/wine and have a modern hip feel to the inside decor. Just like Five Guys, you select the burger and toppings separately, but you have a selection of buns to choose from. There are also hot dogs, milkshakes and a "secret menu" if you dare. I wasn't the biggest fan of the onion rings only because they were huge (I mean a whole layer of onion, rather than slices of a single layer) and had to be eaten in pieces. The burgers come with a Burgerfi sauce which was described as a mayonnaise based sauce with 14 spices in it. To be fair, it had a mayonnaise base, but tasted like mustard. I had mine on the side. This feels like my summer of burgers so I had to do my Yelp duty and check out Burgerfi in Avon. We hit it on a Saturday afternoon right around noon. We got there JUST in time as a long line formed behind us while we ordered. I normally order my burgers with buffalo sauce and blue cheese but here I wanted to try something off of the not-so-secret menu that is posted on the web-menu. I ordered a single "alternative style" which sounded like a knockoff of "animal style" at In and Out. Here's how it's described on the menu: Smothered with a mixture of grilled diced onions, American cheese, mustard, and BurgerFi® sauce . I'm positive that mine didn't come with BurgerFi sauce (and I wish it did because it was a bit dry). I was STARVING (even a bit hangry, Hungry Angry) so I could've eaten anything and felt satisfied. I adored the fries. I like mine crispy and brown, not mealy and they came out exactly like that without my ordering them "well done". We also had the onion rings. They were tasty but huge and challenging to eat. I was excited that they also have beer and wine (versus 5 guys I thought I'd really like that) but you get your food so fast that it's not really a place to linger with a drink (at least not for me). In summary, I liked this place and I could see going there again but it's not my favorite burger around Hartford. There are so many other awesome ones (from fancy, Max Burger, to simple, my beloved Goldburger) that I may pass on Burgerfi in the future. If I didn't have to drive past several other burger joints to get to Burgerfi I'd probably really love it. It's not their fault I live in a burger mecca, right? read more

I know nothing of the meat-based offerings at Burger-Fi, but can attest to the quality of the vegetarian burger. The online menu breaks it down - Crisp quinoa burger, white cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and BurgerFi® sauce served on multigrain bun. I do not know if they have a different cooking area for non-meat burgers, but i didn't taste any meaty taints in my quinoa burger. Fries and Rings were of high quality as you would expect for the $7 or so you may spend on them. Also, they did have an OK selection of beers including some smaller breweries. I am, highly disappointed. While I understand Angus beef is expensive, and fresh is more expensive than the alternative. It's a quirk of the business, I understand this. But, if you're going to HAVE Angus beef, have it cooked to temp To say the least, this was a completely underwhelming experience. The place itself isn't bad, and the burger is decent, the fries I could tell were fresh, not frozen. I suppose the idea you can get beer and wine adds something to it, but just not enough to really spark that "edge" that other burger places seem to capitalize on. While I can't say it's bad food, because it's not. But there's nothing that really set this place apart from other burger joints. What a treat! Have passed it several times but was not sure what it was. Studied the menu online late last night and by this morning was anxious to give it a try. Ambiance and architecture is Orange County/LA industrial. They had us at the multi-choice soda machine, steel tables, concrete and wood walls. Then came the food. Burgers fresh with all the trimmings! Was set on angus beef but the reviews of the veggie one were so good tried it instead green (in lettuce bun) and it did not disappoint. The dog Texas style was one of the best chili dogs we've ever had. The fries are huge - split a large that could have fed a family of six. The choices of toppings will bring us back. This is real food. No comparison with Wayback or Five Guys. Very West Coast and very good and very authentic. Made us wonder if In-And-Out could be far behind. Excellent quality burgers and hot dogs at a fair price. They use high quality beef, including Kobe, and their toppings and buns are fresh. Their shakes and "cements" are excellent. They're very thick, I typically go with the BurgerFi Burger with the works, and a peanut butter and vanilla shake. 100% satisfied every time. Their fries and onion rings are great too. Micheal helped me with soda machine which has the peach soda I love. Their veggie burger is out of this world! I think this place is great. The best burgers in Avon if you just want a burger and fries. Also it's very well priced.

so I have been to this place a few times now, and I have a few tips: 1) large order of fries with chili and cheese = meal - Seriously, they don't skimp on the fries. Whether you do a regular or large order of fries with chili and cheese (and get the fries extra crispy) there will be no possible way you will still be hungry. that being typed... 2) order your fries extra crispy - They give ya a nice crunch and even if they are underdone (which does happen) then you get a normal batch which is nice. The fries are definitely one of the bigger pulls to this place, pretty much mirroring five guys in terms of preparation and portions. their burgers... 3) the burgers are small, but tasty - If you go in thinking you wanna burger to fill you up, then leave. they are seasoned well, have a ton of flavorful toppings and extras you can add to them, but they average the size of a fast-food dollar menu burger. Granted this is the only comparison you can make between the two, but for the price you pay you expect a burger that requires two hands to grip and maneuver, and these burgers are not that type of burger. Like the potato roll buns though, nice touch. 3) get a cement (limit 1 per month) - You know when you eat frozen yogurt and it just feels like your eating a slightly thicker slushie? a cement is the polar opposite of that. It's rich, decedent, flavorful frozen custard which is deliciously deadly. one of these guys will easily meet your caloric intake for the day. it's worth at least trying, but be careful because they are a dangerous treat. as for the place, the atmosphere seems like a hodgepodge of many different burger joints I have hit up in my travels. The staff is kind, the music is at a tolerable level, and the tv's are a welcome distraction. A part of me wonders if anyone notices the big fans literally say "big a** fan" without the asterisks, but I doubt it is an issue since it's a proper term for a donkey. the price is reasonable for a burger joint, averaging about $8 per burger, fries about $3 and the rest of the menu a bit high but not for the area. It's a pretty interesting place and I would recommend a try, but it's more of a hangout spot with friends rather than an go-to standard for a meal. read more

First and foremost, the burger was delicious. It was well seasoned, warm, juicy, no pink (although that may be a personal preference), and the cheese was creamy and perfectly melted. IMHO, it's heads above the nearest similar restaurant, Five Guys. Yes, it's overpriced, but it's a delicious "sometimes food", and the employees were friendly. This particular location could use a little upkeep though. It was hard to find a table that didn't have food gracing the tabletop or the floor below. Only one of the soda machines was working, and the one that was looked in danger of overflowing from excess liquid. As a purse carrying woman, the majority of the chairs were impractical to hold a purse strap and had I not commandeered a designated purse chair, it would have ended up on the floor. The tables are really too small to hold anything else once the food arrives, especially if you're four people at a table. BurgerFi does have a "secret" menu that includes extra crispy fries - they're much better by comparison to the regular fries, which come off as uncooked. read more

We went on customer appreciation day, which made our entire bill 50% off. With that in mind, the crowds were crazy. It's like a burger joint version of Chipotle in decor, I'd say. Burgers were good, but small (which I would prefer, personally, but if you're looking for a giant mouthstuffer, this isn't it.) For the original price I don't think I'd choose to go there over say, Five Guys. But again, 50% off. There's an extra star for being able to order your fries "urban style" from the secret menu (which is not so secret since it's right on their website,) turning them into parmesan and herb fries topped with garlic aioli. People in other reviews have complained about the prices but I think they were reasonable for what you get and the location in Avon, CT. These days even a meal at McDonalds can cost up to $10 (with drink, fries) so I would rather spend a bit more for better ingredients and nicer atmosphere. I loved the variety of toppings, more variety and unique than 5 Guys. The onion rings were delicious as well. The Burgerfi sauce was really good as well. Luke and I were hungry after an early Saturday a.m. baseball session and a bacon cheeseburger seemed like the optimal choice (perfect grease remedy for how I was feeling after a "bit" of red wine the evening before). Where to go? Five Guys? Jack's Way Back? Joe Pizza (their bacon cheeseburger being one of the best kept secrets around)? He chose BurgerFi and I rolled with it. Glad I did. We arrived at 10:55 a.m., five minutes before opening and we even did the always sad unsuccessful tug of the locked doors which caused the workers to look up and give that little nod of the head that said "can't these gavones even wait until 11?". In truth, we couldn't. At the stroke of 11 we sheepishly sauntered into the empty restaurant with no one behind us and kind of wishing we had the "Unknown Comic" bags on our heads for trying to get in early. The very nice young lady took our order - 2 bacon double cheeseburgers, split a large fries and 2 sodas from the wheel of fortune, mix your own soda flavors machine. Just shy of $32.00 (yikes). She asked me my name to call out when our order was ready and I told her my name was 'only one here' which she eventually got and actually called when our food was ready. Man, I have to tell you, those darn burgers were off the hook! Fresh ground, juicy, fantastic soft grilled rolls (even branded on the bun) - I just want to go back right now.
