    Burrito Bowl
    Chloe T.

I made a reservation at the Brooklyn Diner as I was traveling with a picky eater and they had plenty of options. We were seated right away and to our surprise, the AC was broken. We were told it was not broken, just not working all the way, which means broken. During the entire meal, we were very hot. They had fans going and seemed to be doing what they could to improve the temperature, but it was hot. The service was nothing special. Our waitress was more concerned with watching the World Cup game and getting up close and personal with someone who was seated at the bar. She did not check on us much. In addition, the food took a long time to come out and they weren't even that busy. When the food came, it was delicious. The burrito bowl was packed full of flavor and the chicken tenders and fries were good as well. They have a large menu, so it's great for those with different preferences. I reserved via OpenTable and it must have notified them of my birthday. They gave me a free piece of cake which was very kind.

Still a good diner that was convenient to our hotel. Good food and service. I got non breakfast food, which is rare for me in a diner, but the grilled cheese & tomato soup was a great choice and I'd already had their delicious French toast.

I honestly don't want to tell anyone to go to this place. I don't want to tell anyone about their food! This place has unbelievable CHICKEN POT PIE! Okay okay I said it. This place is too good to sleep on. The food, service, atmosphere are fantastic! But the chicken pot pie is to die for! It's as big as your head and way larger than your stomach! Go! But for the love of all things holy don't back it up like every other amazing restaurant in NYC! I'll be back!

It's a nice establishment. I've been eyeing this place for sometime, I was initially going to wait at least until I found a date or a companion, but no such luck and didn't feel like waiting so I just went for it solo. I definitely could've chose a better day because inside the place wasn't much a relief from the blazing sun. Doesn't matter for now. The restaurant was fairly large and didn't seem overly crowded. Despite that I was left to wait 10 minutes until someone came around to finally take my order. Service didn't seem too attentive here compared to other places I've been in. Thankfully for them the food is the savior of the place. I ordered the BBQ burger lunch special which came with fries, coleslaw (that I didn't even touch) and fries along with an apple pie with ice cream for desert. I also had a root beer float which was delightful for a whole 3 minutes before the ice cream scoop on it melted flat. Probably would've lasted longer if the outside temperature wasn't 95 and the room temperature wasn't 80. Now that I got the negatives out of the way, the food was delicious. The burger was prime in texture and taste, absolutely filling that you do get your money's worth out of the burger. The fries were salted well, though I do wish I was also served napkins to brush off the salt on my fingers. The apple pie slice was delectable as it was served with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream which was a great help to offset the fresh heat from the Apple pie. Pricing of the stuff here was steep. My whole order came up to $45 and I only had a few dollars left over to tip so that's $50 for lunch right there. My curiosity was satisfied for it was a decent stay to eat at this place, but the service could be better, especially with the cost of food in this diner.

I visited Brooklyn Diner hoping for a great experience, especially since it came recommended through a cashback app. Unfortunately, my visit was mixed. When I arrived, my server was chatting at the bar talking about cocktails and didn't notice me for a while. She apologized once she realized, which I appreciated, but the service continued to feel inattentive. I ordered a three‑cheese omelette and specifically mentioned that I don't eat bacon or sausage. When the dish arrived, it had bacon on top. I'm not someone who sends food back unless absolutely necessary, but in this case I had to. The server seemed frustrated and implied that all omelettes come with bacon, which made the interaction uncomfortable. I also asked about the toast, since it didn't look like the challah bread I'm used to. Instead of explaining, the server discussed my question with a colleague within earshot, which felt unprofessional and a bit embarrassing. The bright spot of the visit was another staff member -- a woman with blond hair -- who approached me, apologized sincerely, and offered pastries to make things right. Her kindness really stood out and is the reason I'm giving this review a fair rating instead of a negative one. Overall, the food was fine once corrected, and the restaurant has potential, but the service experience was disappointing. I hope this was just an off day, because the staff member who stepped in showed what good hospitality can look like.

If you're looking for a great breakfast spot in the Theater District, this is it! It's a quaint, vintage throwback diner with a really cool aesthetic. The staff is super friendly, and the service is both quick and accurate. Definitely recommend grabbing an omelet with potatoes and a NY bagel!

It is the epitome of a flashy diner with nothing really to show for except looking like a diner. Ordered: Two eggs any style with potatoes, bacon and bread on the side. ($21) 3/5 Even if the plate was the size of starter plate I'd still have a gripe about the proportions here. For $21 dollars I was shocked by the amount of food that was not on my plate. And the meal was mediocre at best. You always hope for the best at these places but sometimes it is going to be exactly what you think it is. Chocolate Milk: 2/5 - Gobsmackingly sweet. If a parent gave this to their child they'd be boucning off the walls all day, or worse, they might actually think its also too sweet. Service: 5/5 - It was commendable. We went on Christmas Eve. Despite their continuous rush they seemed to be flipping tables quickly so we were able to be seated wo a resvervation no problem. Our meal also came very fast which is always appreciated. Breakfast isn't really my thing any way

A Nostalgic Gem with Incredible Food! From the moment we walked into this beautifully decorated, nostalgic diner, we knew we were in for a treat. I made a reservation for a party of six, and even though we arrived a little early, the staff was incredibly accommodating and seated us right away without a problem. Outstanding Service We had an absolutely delightful server! They were incredibly knowledgeable, patiently answering all of our questions about menu favorites, and provided top-notch customer service from start to finish. It really made the whole experience that much better. Delicious, Authentic Food The kitchen serves up delicious, authentic, and very well-portioned dishes. Our group ordered a large variety of items, and every single person raved about their meal! Some of the absolute standouts included: -The giant meatball -The Reuben sandwich, featuring fantastic house-made pastrami -Classic, perfectly blended milkshakes Comforting, rich matzah ball soup We all left with full, happy bellies and are already looking forward to our next visit. I highly recommend stopping by if you want great food and a wonderful atmosphere!

The food was pretty disappointing. The waffles were hard and tough to chew through. The pigs in a blanket and turkey in the turkey club sandwich was dry. The smoked salmon and omelette were okay. Seated quickly around noon on a Saturday.

Chicken noodle soup - fresh veggies and shredded chicken, yum!

I've never spent much time in Time Square the entire time I lived here, but now I am exploring the city like a tourist. We tried this place out after traveling all day and this place did not disappoint, but will warn you the prices are high. You're in Time Square, it's gonna cost you. I ordered their signature chicken noodle soup and my mom had the cheeseburger and fries. Both dishes executed perfectly. I loved the chicken noodle soup and the fresh veggies and shredded chicken was all very fresh and flavorful. The challah toast was dry though. I'd consider coming back here if needing a solid meal in a casual location. Lots of good people watching too!

A night in NYC always calls for a stop at the Brooklyn Diner, one of my longtime favorites from when I lived in the Northeast. I'm so glad I went back because it didn't disappoint. My server, Gabriela M., was amazing and friendly. I followed her recommendations and went with the shrimp tacos, and they absolutely satisfied my palate; fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The side of guacamole was a little taste of heaven. Great dining experience as expected

    Pollo Cubano
    Vicki M.

Pleasantly surprised by the food here especially being a diner. But I've come to learn that diners in NYC have some of the best food - even gourmet standards. Went here after a comedy show so it was past 8:30 and the place was only partly full which was great as we were seated immediately. We had some fun with the mirrors there - got some fun photos sitting next to them looking at ourselves. I ordered the pollo cubano and it was amazing! First of all it came with this very gourmet presentation with the chicken stacked over the Spanish rice topped with the caramelized onions and pico de gallo and a side of lemon - I was very impressed! And it was quite delicious- the textures and depth of flavors in each bite - mmm mmm mmmm. I was hungry too and I ate the whole thing! Very satisfying. The hubs ordered their famous hot dog the 15-bite frankfurter which is huge and comes with sauerkraut and side of fries. He enjoyed and it and it was filling too. We were both very satisfied! Service was friendly and efficient. Overall great experience!

Both failed epically. The bone marrow was inedible as it was like cold custard. Escargot had zero flavor and a real lack of garlic and good butter. Tasted more like vegetable oil than good butter. We shared the lobster pasta entree. Tasted more like Mexican goulash. No Italian flavors to be found in the sauce. Never once did the nameless waiter stop and inquire about our meal. Just all around a poor experience and a disappointing Friday night. There are far better places that appreciate your patronage. We will not be coming back. Not worth it.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. The shepherd's pie is insanely salty and it's very off-putting. It was inedible. I was looking forward to having it but I would not in good faith recommend this to anyone. The buttermilk tenders is supposed to come with pickled shallots and marinated green beans. We didn't get the pickled shallots or the marinated green beans, which was a shame. The chicken tenders by themselves didn't have much flavor. It also is unfortunate paying $17 for what was considered a small plate and just getting the chicken tenders. The Asian-sesame wings were okay. Also, didn't have much flavor and weren't that impressive. There was also still hair on some of the pieces of chicken, so the chicken could have been cleaned better. They have fries and hand cut fries. The regular fries were soggy. Should have went with the hand cut fries. The tater tots were okay. I was told that the chicken sandwich was good. It came with a little side of rustic chips. I would not come back for the food but I would possibly go back to try a drink if I was in the area. The drink menu looked pretty good.

The bread was fluffy and not dry, which I had seen previous reviews say before. Paired with the creamy truffle butter, it had a luxurious mouthfeel. My favorite was the pork chop (cognac, sweet prunes, bacon, rosemary) -- the sweet and soft texture of the prune was melted in my mouth like fat, and the pork was tender, with the rosemary also coming through. The vodka rigatoni was a skip, somewhat bland and one-note, we ended up putting some of the truffle butter and garlic aioli from the fries to make it more flavorful. This was especially in contrast with the spicy shrimp pasta which was much tastier. Also got the strawberry vacherin (strawberry ice cream, meringue, vanilla whipped cream), it was my first time having this dessert. The tartness of the strawberry was great with the fluffy meringue and the sweet ice cream. Service was extremely attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with moody lighting. Although the space was packed, it didn't feel too loud or crowded. We spent about two hours and didn't feel rushed.

I went on a Thursday night, and the place was absolutely packed. The front feels more like a bar/casual area, while the dining room is tucked toward the back. My reservation was at 10:15 PM, so I actually had a light dinner beforehand and ordered a little lighter than I normally would. I got: - Truffle Monkey Bread ($34.99) - Prime Rib French Dip ($39.99) - Pommes Frites ($13.99) - Banana Split Sundae ($24.99) I thought the prices were definitely on the higher end when I first sat down, but the Truffle Monkey Bread is divine! Honestly, it's probably in my top 3 bread experiences of my life. If you love truffle, butter, cheese, and basically everything good in life, please get this. It comes out slightly warm and is just incredible. I will probably dream about this bread. The French Dip was good, although it was a little too salty for me. If I get the chance to come back, I'd probably try one of their actual steaks instead. The pommes frites were super crispy, basically McDonald's fries but elevated. The Banana Split Sundae was so pretty. I loved how they placed all the little treats around the crevices/imprints of the dish (not sure how else to describe it ). It's huge, though, so definitely don't expect to finish it yourself. I'd recommend sharing it with 3+ people. I was also celebrating an anniversary, and they brought out a strawberry scoop for us. It tasted homemade and really fresh. I could actually see pieces of strawberry in it, which I loved. The restaurant is definitely on the pricier side, and getting a dinner reservation can be a struggle, but I'd absolutely go again if I got the chance. The decor is cozy and upscale, the food was excellent, and the whole place has a really nice atmosphere. My only real complaint was that our waitress kept pushing us to order more, which got a little annoying, especially since we had already ordered quite a bit. Overall: expensive + difficult reservation, but absolutely worth trying. And please get the truffle monkey bread.

They have to let you in. I didn't have a reservation, but was seated immediately. Win! I really should've asked questions instead of going rogue. My intention was to do the lunch prix fixe menu. The menu on the table was a la carte. This did however work out better for me as I had limited time since I was catching a broadway show. Started with the olives then followed with the hot dogs and closed with the gem lettuce. They did come at different times. This gave me the perfect time to nibble slowly. The olives paired perfectly with the salad. The hot dogs were my favorite. The whole meal was perfectly balanced for me. Just have to mention how amazing the service was. No table had anything waiting to be taken away because there was always someone walking around. At one point, one of the guys clocked I had just finished drinking my water and within seconds he was at my table refilling my glass. I mean c'mon. Will took great care of me. He even suggested the dessert I ended up getting which was the peach cruller. I'm gonna try to come back to do the lunch tasting before I go back home to LA.

Bursting with flavor and the potatoes made for a nice variation of textures. Salmon with endive salad was also great. Salmon skin was cooked perfectly. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the corn gelato. Just didn't taste like much and the peaches I found didn't really play well with the dish for me. Overall though, service was top notch and you can't beat the upscale vibe. Would definitely recommend this for restaurant week experiences if you're looking to get a fine dining taste at a reduced cost. Portions felt reasonable for the quality and left full (far from bursting, but definitely not hungry at all).

The hostess was welcoming, our waitress was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and the support staff kept everything running smoothly throughout the evening. We took several of our server's recommendations and were happy with every one. What we ordered: * Butter Service Garni * Dressed Big Rock Oysters * Yellowtail Crudo * Filet Mignon with Pommes Purée * Nutella Opéra Cake Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, the pommes purée were rich and incredibly smooth, and the Nutella Opéra Cake was the perfect way to end the meal. The only thing I'd mention is that the restrooms are located down a fairly long flight of stairs. If you're wearing heels, have a stroller, or have mobility limitations, it's something to be aware of. Overall, this was a fantastic experience with excellent food, attentive service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I'd gladly return and would recommend Quality Bistro to anyone looking for an upscale French dining experience.

We started with the kale salad (although it seemed more like spinach than kale), and it was still fresh and delicious. The tomato burrata was outstanding--definitely a must-order! I had the steak frites, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the French onion burger, and after trying a bite, I already know that's what I'll be ordering next time--it was incredible! The cocktails were made perfectly, and to finish, we shared the lemon ice cream cake. It was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet--the perfect ending to a great meal. Everything from the food to the drinks and exceptional service made this a wonderful dining experience. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was lead to this great spot for a late dinner and cocktails on a Friday night. The hostess was really friendly and quicky sat us at a two seater near the bar, which we appreciated. The ambiance was light and friendly and they even had a DJ playing all the good jams! I think I danced a bit, (definitely liquid courage). The DJ read the room and created a fun ambiance. The waitress came over a few minutes later and quickly took our drink and meal order. We ordered the Tuna Crispy Rice ( Yum), Guinness Wager Sliders (Nom Nom), Korean Chicken Boas (My Favorite!) and Carnitas Tacos.....I'm embarrassed to admit that we cleaned our plates like a couple of savages. Bartley Dunnes is a great choice to come solo, meet up with friends or come as a group of no more than 4, unless you make a reservation. They have a second floor that I unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out, so I can't write about that. However, I did see people coming and going straight up. I'll be back!

We sat at the bar, which runs about half the length of the space, and there were also plenty of tables throughout. The back section of the bar feels a bit separated from the main entrance area. There are some TVs throughout, and everything inside seemed fairly new and well maintained. It was not very crowded on a Tuesday early evening, so service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We did not order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for happy hour drinks in the MoMA/Midtown West area.
