I particularly love how the bagels aren't too big and they have a good cream cheese ratio. I got a marble bagel with fig and honey schmear which was delicious. I also got a tasty strawberry rugelach pastry. Parking can be tricky depending what time of day you go. There is a nice park down the street to sit and enjoy.

Pretty amazing considering they've only had their brick and mortar since 2019. Who remembers getting their amazing bagels at the Bloomfield Saturday Market before the brick & mortar opened? ME! I lived down the street & looked forward to getting them. Who remembers them selling at the Squirrel Hill Farmers Market too? ME! I have spent enough time in NYC to really know bagels and Pigeon has been at the top of that game from the start. Proper bagels...boiled & hand-rolled! Donut Day is the second Wednesday of the month. Coffee served is from Redhawk.

Love that this is a locally owned and operated shop! Pittsburgh's suburban neighborhoods are…read moredesperately begging for bagel shops. Out here in the North Hills, we've been stuck with chain options -- so when Three Brothers Bagels came to Shaler, it really helped fill a void. This place is a great destination for all kinds of bagels, bagel sandwiches, baked goods AND really, really good soup. My personal favorite so far has been the potato leek soup with bagel croutons. It was so good that I'd love to see it become a menu staple rather than just a special. As for the bagels themselves, the selection strikes a nice balance of savory and sweet, and the spreads and fillings follow suit. What I especially love is that the sandwiches go beyond just breakfast -- there are creative, lunch-style options that set them apart. And yes, their bagels are chewy and might give your jaw a workout after a whole sandwich, but honestly... isn't that just what a bagel is? Tip: Make sure you get there early or plan to order ahead this place is SO popular and regularly sells out. I'm also looking forward to seeing their food truck out and about. Highly recommend for anyone in the North Hills looking for quality bagels, sandwhiches, soups and some genuinely great baked goods!

Pretty solid bagel place, definitely one of the better ones in the Pittsburgh area!…read more They got a small shop, but they're definitely slinging a lot of product very quickly so get there earlier and prepare to wait a little bit too, but it's pretty worth it! The different types of bagels are good, Jalepeno cheddar could have a little more Jalepeno in it, but solid. The real highlight was the sausage egg and cheese, the sausage being freshly pressed and made in house really made it standout, definitely recommend! Overall, it's a real good spot for a bagel sandwich, plus they got coffee and some other treats that people were raving about, def will try next time!

My wife and I took a recent trip to Pittsburgh. We had two mornings in town and had a tale of two…read morebreakfasts. The Speckled Egg provided the upscale and elevated breakfast, that was a nice contrast to the rustic and local breakfast we had the next day. Our waitress was friendly and professional. After some deliberation, I went with a bowl that included eggs, chicken sausage, sweet potatoes and a nice garnish of dill. The dill surprisingly elevated the whole dish. My wife enjoyed an omelette. Coffee was also quite good! Nice start to a day of sightseeing! (The restaurant staff gave great advice about the nearby tourist attractions)

He was courteous, well spoken and friendly. We sat there for about 10-12 minutes. No one approached the table. We looked over to what appeared to be a bar area and we saw two servers standing there talking and showing each other their phones. My wife said, "With our luck, one of those two is our server." Sure enough, when they were finally done talking, one came over to our table....no smile and a big audible sigh. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and she returned with our beverages. After another 10 minute wait she came back to take our order. When asked about a certain dish, came another big sigh, eye roll and and a rote description of said dish. The food arrived and one of the orders was wrong. Another wait to get her attention. We asked for the item to be redone as we had ordered it. And she even asked how we wanted it! You got it...another eye roll and a big sigh. At least she was well oxygenated! The dish came back with the very same results. On that issue we gave up. Then came the wait for the check. Once again the two servers were chatting, no heads turned to check on their tables. My son went over to get the check. When the check arrived, it was attitude city. She accused us of picking on her because she was only a server. It's obviously how she saw herself. We then asked for the manager who was quick to side with the server. She said that nothing seemed to satisfy us and that we had a problem. IN SHARP CONTRAST. I have been to the Speckled Egg on the South Side many times. From the Host/Hostess to the servers to the bus staff, everyone had a smile, chatted with their customers, laughed and it was always a great experience. The manager came over since he recognized me from being there many times and we chatted for a minute. We are talking Night and Day. Completely two different experiences from server to management styles. To me there is only one Speckled Egg and one complete waste of time (Downtown).
