Burke Williams is a high end day spa. It's not the kind of day spa that you come to visit to use the amenities. You have to have an appointment for a massage, manicure, pedicure, or skin care. They use quality products on your skin that smell good and are for sale. After my last facial I purchased the skin toner and an age defying cream that is helping tighten my old sagging skin. I can actually feel that it is making a difference after using it for 3 weeks. The facility has large sized lockers. You are provided a key on a loop that fits on your wrist or your ankles. They provide heavy soft white robes with a hoodie. I wish I had one of these robes and will probably purchase one someday. The towels are Giganta-enormous. you get two of them. I recently also received a washcloth which was a first. And you are directed to wear their shoes which are plastic sandals. I find the sandals very ill fitting and I'm afraid I will fall someday. When I told the staff they said I can wear my own sandals. The Jacuzzi is large, the jets are strong. My complaint is the temperature is not warm enough. I have never felt a need to get out because I'm too hot. They have a cold mist room which is like standing in a cold fog that is bordering on rain. It's OK. I prefer a cold dip. There's a steam room which could be steamier and warmer. It seems the Jets shoot out steam about every 15 minutes. Not hot enough for this girl. The dry heat room is small and not enough room to lay down if there is more than one person in there. There are containers of ice water infused with citrus, an urn of hot lemongrass tea (which is delicious) and bananas and oranges for you. They have decreased the number of spigots in the showers to just one and have lowered the water pressure. Sad face. Staff are very very good, kind, and polite. read more

My wife made me an appointment for my birthday to visit the Burke Williams in Orange today. I had never been to a spa before so I was excited to enjoy the full experience for the first time. The front desk was very welcoming, and the tour was helpful in explaining all the amenities, but I can't say the same for the massage experience. I explained during the initial assessment that I prefer some pressure on my massage. I agreed to the deep tissue enhancement since it was a bday complimentary, but explained I'd like to dial back to more of a medium pressure. This was explained to my massage therapist who is hard-of-hearing. I appreciate that an assistant was present to help with communicating before the massage started. After a few minutes of the massage starting however, it didn't feel like medium. It was feeling pretty painful and uncomfortable. I tried to explain to the therapist that the pressure was too deep for me. She asked if I wanted "more relaxing" to which I replied yes. From there the massage continued but this time with essentially no pressure. I wasn't enjoying this much either. I felt rude giving feedback again because I know she was trying her best, but I also wanted to enjoy my bday gift. Thus, I asked if she could apply more pressure. She gestured "okay" with her hands, but after a few more minutes I came to the conclusion she might not have understood me. I didn't notice a difference. Woefully, I asked one more time if she could apply more medium pressure. This time she definitely understood but, by then I was already 41 minutes into my 50 minute massage. I was bummed that I missed out on what could have been an amazing relaxing massage. Lastly, I was told the enhancement was complimentary but I noticed I was still charged for it regard. Overall, I paid $191 but didn't feel like I got my moneys worth unfortunately. My suggestion to the spa would be to avoid pairing this therapist with first-timers like myself who might give more feedback while dialing in their preference. If given the opportunity, I would definitely give them a second try. Update: the manager of the spa reached out to me, acknowledged my concern, and made a concerted effort to remedy the situation. I've been to many spas and this is my second Burke Williams location. Layout in women's locker room is terrible, the employee storage area is right next to the lockers so very little privacy and constant traffic. The robes were tattered and worn out and there just weren't as many towels out and other little convenience items. Staff seemed overworked and not as friendly. The massage therapist wasn't bad just inexperienced I think. If you can make the drive to Mission Viejo I highly recommend that location instead even though it's smaller. read more

I'm a long time member of Burke Williams. I have always had great experience in different treatments that I had, until today. I have a bad experience with my pedicure treatment today. This is the 1st time I had a nail treatment at Burke Williams. Right after the treatment, my heals are still dry..and rough. I told the receptionist about it. I wasn't expecting anything...just want to let them know that it was not a great experience. The manager came out...and asked me some questions. But the way she asked was as if she didn't believe me! She didn't appologize..and said told the receptionist that she will go to the back. We were waiting for her to see if what she wanted to do. She never came back and talked to me. Instead she stayed behind the front office and told the receptionist to give me 20% off. It was very unprofessional! I was unhappy about the pedicure...but the experience with the manager is the worst! The least she can do is apologized for the bad treatment. But not treating me like I'm not telling the truth and gave me $7 off (not even 20% that I was told), made me feel extremely dissapointed as a long time member! I am happy to provide picture of my heals AFTER the treatment as prove that I didn't get a good treatment. I will have to go to another spa to get the treatment that I need! Came here to get a facial. I thought it was nice and enjoyable but the esthetician only extracted the two parts that I soecicially mentioned. It was suprisinng to me because most places will go and do other ones that you don't mention. But after I still saw a couple that could have been easily extracted. The spa and the shower was really nice though because they had a lot of water pressure. They also have everything u may need: fruit, q tips, lotion, shaving car cream, razor, etc. The vanilla lemon grass was also delicious. The pedicures here are fantastic. Went to Burke Williams Friday 11/10/2023 to use the spa facilities so I can have a day of me time; something I don't make time out to do often but when I do it I always have a very enjoyable time. Before entering the Spa upon arrival I noticed they have a sign on the door that say if you are sick do not enter; so I thought it was ok to remove my mask while there; however I noticed one of the staff member was coughing a lot and she was handling the water, the fruit and laundry; tall slender young lady; I became uncomfortable; when I got home that evening my head was killing me, then the next day I had chills real bad; I took a Covid test and tested positive for COVID; Burke Williams need to make sure their staff is not sick as well before entering; now I got covid and I am very very sick. I should not be paying to get sick; I deserve a refund. read more

Was so excited to be treated to a fancy facial. First and last time here. The 10-15 min experience up until my facial was great. It all went downhill once I met my aesthetician who was coughing non stop. At first I thought she had a tickle in her throat, but once I got into the facial room to get settled, I could hear her coughing in the hall way I should have spoken up and asked for someone else, but I didn't want to be rude. My entire facial was so uncomfortable. She couldn't even speak to recommend products at the end of my facial due to her coughing When checking out I was asked how my facial was and I told the young lady it wasn't the best and now I'm worried about my health. Lovely spa they definitely live up to the Burke Williams standards. I've been here a few times and it's always nice and clean. Now since Covid I noticed they are going right into the showers after each use and disinfecting. Everyone has on a mask and I felt safe. The Amenities are back open and people are doing good keeping their distance. I was wondering how it would be post Covid in orange county, A city where people don't really like wearing their mask. You know I like being pampered... and so does he so spa day for me. My massage was booked for 10am on a Saturday. I arrived at 9:40am to make sure I can relax a little and use the amenities prior to my massage. Once I checked in, I had someone walk me to my locker. My locker already had my bathrobe, a towel, and slippers inside. My slippers were a little too big so she went to grab a smaller size for me. During my time there, I tried all their different rooms. Here is a description of each and my thoughts on them: Jacuzzi- I like that they do not allow sitting on the ledge so it is clean and you can put your head on it. They also have orange/cucumber infused ice water right by so you don't even have to get out of the jacuzzi if you want some water. There is also buckets of ice with towels for you to use if you get too hot. It's heavenly. Mist Room- This room is conveniently right next to the Jacuzzi. If you get too hot you come in here to cool down. Isn't that amazing? Showers- The showers are super clean and very large. I love that you keep your towels inside your shower room so no one can get to it. Everything is provided (body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body gel, Q-tips, hair ties, shower hair caps, etc). Sauna- The saunas here aren't too hot and just the way I like them. It's not super big but at most on a busy Saturday the most in at a time was four people. I enjoyed it. Steam Room- I love how clean it is. Outside the sauna and steam room is a huge bucket of iced towels to keep you cool. I also grab one to sit on. Although it's European style, people still wear swimwear around. Social Room- The social rooms includes some sofas, chairs, and some waters. Sometimes they have lemonade in there. This room is also co-ed. Relaxation Room- I am use to sleeping rooms and that is what I thought it was. The rooms have two rows of sofa chairs. They are blocked off and are more individual. There are blankets for each chair and a foot rest. Inside that room is some water. It is dimly lit. You can lay in there to take a nap or to relax. This room is also co-ed. Restrooms- I only wanted to mention that the restrooms provide facial face wash, toners, facial lotion, and mouthwash. There are toothbrushes upon request. Hair/Makeup Studio Room- I love that they provide different types of hair curlers, straighteners, blow dryer and lots of hair products. You can literally give yourself a blow out with style and everything here. All their brushes are clean and there is a basket for used brushes. After having a fabulous day, it was nice to sit down and apply my makeup and do my hair there. Right outside the studio room, right by the jacuzzi is where you can grab eucalyptus infused towels. I love them. My massage- All services that are booked are asked that you come to the lounge to wait for your name to be called 5-10 minutes prior. Once my name was called, I had a girl masseuse hold on to my back to walk me to my private massage room. OMG the massage was heavenly. I asked for her not to touch my lower back and to focus on my upper back, shoulders and neck. She did everything I asked for. She even did some exfoliation which I did not expected but loved. She also used essential oils and Chinese herbs on me. I was completely relaxed during and after. The massage room was super clean and the bed was heated. They also apply heat in certain places to loosen your soreness as well. It truly was an experience. My overall experience at this Burke Williams was amazing and I could not have asked for anything better. I think all services here are completely worth it. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for some me time, girl time, or even a relaxing day with your partner. It is worth checking out. read more

Yeah, expensive. That said, if you're going to spend that money, you might as well go all in and use the facilities to their fullest extent. I used to visit the Pasadena location, but my bf lives in HB, so I had to make the trek behind the Orange Curtain. It was kind of hard to find, as the location is situated in a really large outdoor mall. After about 20 minutes, I finally found the spa and got my facial. Those minutes spent on finding the location and parking took away from my time using the amenities, so plan ahead if you want to maximize your dollars. On the bright side, my facial was great and relaxing. Will I return? Maybe. On a holiday shopping weekend when parking is difficult? Probably not. read more

This place oozes relaxation. The staff are amazing and so attentive. From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed. When I mentioned it was my first time there, someone even popped their head around a corner to greet me. I was given a tour to become familiar with the amenities and layout. Then a locker key with a robe and sandals for use at the facility. I started in the sauna then headed to the aromatherapy steam room for a bit. The showers are fully stocked, so I took a quick shower before my mani-pedi. My manicurist was great and did an amazing job. They use steam rather than a bucket of water to soften the skin. After the mani-pedi, I spent some time in the quiet room. With its low lights and virtual silence, it would be easy to fall asleep, especially when they provide a cozy blanket. For an occasional visit - the Orange location is quite nice and each service is pretty good. The more you communicate with the masseuse or aesthetician what you are looking for the better your experience will be. If you can- book mid-week for 10am'ish so you can use the spa {jacuzzi-lots of chlorine understandable, steam-strong eucalyptus can sting your eyes at times, sauna-small but very workable} when they are most fresh and it is quieter in the morning. Weekends are not relaxing, so if you are trying to destress - no weekends. If you are having a group party - absolutely a weekend can work. The reason only a 3-Star is that I made the mistake of becoming a 'Member". My advice - do NOT become a "Member". It puts you on a treadmill of "You are about to lose $80, $120, etc. every month. " Have a conflict and can't make an appointment - you get..." Sorry & thank you for the $80 that we do nothing to earn." It was really stressful and honestly - I just quit that place. Great getaway close to home. I am a spa fanatic. When I go on vacation, the main thing I look at for the hotel or resort is the spa. Recently I decided that there is no reason to wait for a vacation to enjoy a day at the spa. I booked a massage here and ended up getting the membership. The relaxation rooms are great, they have 3. One common unisex lounge with a fireplace. A social room and a sleeping room with cozy blankets. They also have a nice hot tub, dry sauna, steam room and lockers/showers/bathrooms etc. All the usual items. The massage beds are heated. The rooms are quiet with relaxing music. My massage therapist did a good job, I had a 90 minute with hot stones. No need to go away for a spa day. Stay local and still have your relaxation day. If there is one downside, it is that they are in with a corporate center and the outlets - which although convenient if you are going shopping - is less convenient when you are just trying to park, get in and out of there with no stress, but that is really the only downside. read more

I spent the day at Burke Williams recently. The massage I got by "Sok" was amazing . He did a superb job. It was deep tissue and in only 25 min. Rectified a host of issues I was having. I wish I would have booked a longer service . However, the issue I have is the food policy. You cannot expect people to be at a day spa ( ALL day) and survive off just a banana or apple. This was really upsetting bc I came from a house where I was caring for others all morning , didn't have time to eat before I needed to make my appt. and assumed, like it was before , I could order in a soup or simple sandwich for lunch to eat in the lobby. I was informed they no longer allow outside food. Then another said it was bc of Covid ? I'll be the first person to wear a mask , no problem with it but , apparently Covid didn't exist in the tiny hot Sauna I was just sitting in with 5 other women but does in the airy large lounge where I'm sitting 20 ft away from someone ? So I spent the whole day ... running off water and an apple. The bananas were green and inedible. If they are not going to allow outside food then THEIR selection needs to be greatly broadened to include proteins and a variety or they need to restore the outside food policy. What if someone is diabetic or hypoglycemic like I am ? This is a pretty big problem in my opinion. I will change my review when they rectify this issue. Many women were in the lobby around 1 wondering what there was to eat. Meanwhile another customer took it upon herself to have her daughters bring her subway- which she ate in the lounge with no staff bothering her. It's not her fault .... But this isn't the greatest way to handle normal humans who need to eat. I assume that they're employees are able to break for lunch bc it's illegal not to ... just not the guests apparently . read more

My 80-minute relaxation massage with Art today was worth five stars. He made a genuine effort to understand what are the problem areas and ensured that I was always comfortable with the pressure, the table temperature, etc. I would highly recommend requesting him for your massage appointment! All the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I went at 10:30AM so it was quiet, clean, and had very little guests yet - loved that. I would have liked for there to be a place to lay down in the "Quiet Room" and just relax but it's all seating and people are mainly waiting to be called in for their service. Also, the eucalyptus steam room was not impressive... it was lukewarm and droplets just consistently fell down from the ceiling and hit my face lol. I considered going to my gym's steam room which actually has some heat packing in there. I received a 3-day spa pass with my gift certificate so I will be returning for that reason, otherwise I wouldn't as it is a bit overpriced for what you get. read more

Located in The Outlets at Orange. The entrance is sort of hidden away from the rest of the mall next to a business building in the area where LA Fitness is. We only used the spa facilities during this visit. On the women's side, the spa facilities consist of a jacuzzi, misting room, eucalyptus steam room, and sauna. There are also individual shower stalls and a vanity area. They provide pretty much everything you'd need, but you can definitely bring your own bath and body essentials. Perfect time to bring your own sheet masks! The spa facilities are really clean and well-maintained. The staff was constantly replenishing supplies and wiping down areas. Regarding dress code, it's up to you how much skin you want to show. Some preferred to go completely bare while others wore bathing suits. Robes and sandals are provided to use in the lounges. Refreshments and snacks are provided in the lounges. I saw someone had ordered food as well. This was my first experience with Burke Williams and it was an enjoyable one. So I have been to have a couple facials at the Burke Williams in Orange. What stands out the most is not the decor, or silence (so often needed), instead it was the esthetician! Janelle J. was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and gentle! There are a wide variety of add-on services and products. Janelle presented them without making me feel pressured to purchase them or use them while still giving me an amazing facial! In fact I loved them so much I purchased the membership so I could return! My boss signed me and a couple of coworkers up for 80 minute deep tissue massages. I forget who my therapist was but she was great! Super professional and made me feel at ease. She got most of my knots out and it felt great most times, some parts just hurt because I knew I was sore there. Afterwards we relaxed in the eucalyptus steam room, sauna, and heated pool with jets and it was just so nice. The showers were great, good pressure and included shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! The place where you get ready included brushed, hair dryers, straighteners, and curlers. I never go to spas and this was a super fun experience. read more

While my previous experiences at Burke Williams Day Spa in Orange have typically been good, my last experience makes me question if I will ever book another appointment here again. I received a massage for my birthday from my fiance. She had called in advance to book and make sure that I was assigned a good therapist. After receiving my gift, she called again to make sure I had a good therapist and that she was strong and could do deep tissue, and the person on the other line recommended and changed my previous therapist, and assigned me to a girl named Valerie. I was excited. I badly needed a massage. I came a little early to take advantage of the jacuzzi to wind down a little. They don't exactly tell you at the front where to meet your therapist, so I went walking around a little bit later to find out. It turns out, your therapist goes walking around looking for you too. Now to the massage. I don't know if this therapist was just having a bad day that day, but I was thoroughly disappointed with the results. It's great that they give you some added extras for your birthday, however, getting to the massage, for the money you pay, it was poorly executed. I asked Valerie several times if it was possible for her to go a little deeper/stronger on the massage. She replied, sure and would go for about one minute and back to this terrible massage where she would sort of use her medium to light body weight and hang out at a certain area as if she was trying to kill time. She would sigh often as if she didn't want to be there. Later I asked again if she could go a little deeper and stronger if she was able to and remarked with a rude tone "I will get there, I'm just warming up and don't want to bruise you". I backed off because I didn't want the rest of the massage to be more terrible. She eventually never got to the deep tissue and ended the massage with a half ass effort. She scrubbed my back with the exfoliant as if she was mad and finished off my neck also half assed. For the money you pay at this place, I'd expect a better masseuse. I've been a member here for several years and have seen a steady decline in the overall condition of the facility. My last visit has put me to the point that it's no longer worth the money I'm paying. My therapist had a cold demeanor and I felt like she couldn't wait to be done. The locker room had bins with dirty towels overflowing on to the floor. Also, when you walk in the front door of a spa, you expect a certain aroma, not here. I mentioned something to the front desk, she told me they use a mini crock pot to scent the spa. Really, for the amount charged here, can't they invest in some aroma therapy scent diffusers. The company has cut back on a lot of stuff, and moved things around. The quiet room doesn't have magazines, and only hot tea. The community room inside has the lemonade a like 4 magazines, but no tea or water. And the community room outside by the fireplace has no magazines, but has hot tea and fruit. I know that they're trying to keep the cost down, and offering spa users more coupons and incentives, but nickel and diming us by making us "hunt" for our refreshments is really irritating. Even the vanity area has been cut back. Only 3 or 4 style products, limited hair brushes, and hair bands are in the shower area, not the vanity area. 3 stars because of the cut backs. I paid my $200 for my spa treatments so I can take advantage of the ammenities. Otherwise, I'd just go to the competitors for less if I wanted a relaxation massage. Always a pleasure to come in. This experience has been the best in a long while. I believe Burke is making a comeback and is on an upward slope again. The last few times were a little disappointing but this last experience was amazing! I was given a massage by Capri and it was so good! The pressure was perfect. The rooms are nice and quiet with a warm massage table, ooh la la! They warm your robe for you and when you finish it adds the coziest touch. Back with their special water of cucumber orange and lemons with bowls of fruit galore! Pretty busy for a Sunday evening. If you're looking for a great escape this is your place. Bring the spouse, friends, come alone, either you will at least get some well deserved pampering time to yourself. They have a membership which is a great deal!
