You don't go to Target knowing what you want. Target will…read moretell you what it wants you to want. You will buy it. You will wonder how you accidentally spent $100. This is the way of Target. Secrets to Target: 1) everything seasonal comes out about a month or more in advance, so plan ahead! When it's the actual season, what you need won't be available (like patio furniture in July) because they're constantly operating ahead of time. Segue... 2) if you see something you want, buy it right then because the likelihood it'll be around in a week is low (seriously, the lack of patio furniture in summer is shocking). 3) they have a relationship with British store M&S who ships them sweets around the holidays and they sell out almost immediately, so keep your eyes out for them around the end of November. 4) if you don't know where something is located within the store, check out Target's website and make sure your location is set to the store you're in: it'll tell you exactly which aisle to find a thing! 5) there are some AMAZING vegan frozen food options that I haven't found at my local Hannaford or Whole Foods (plant-based pizza Ming Bings and Morning Star riblets to be exact). 6) if you're a petite adult, you can wear their kids (especially Cat & Jack brand) L and XL! Pros to THIS Target: it's close to where I live; it's usually well stocked; the best bathing suits I've ever owned come from here. (MAJOR) Cons to THIS Target: the parking lot is a nightmare; it's always busy regardless of when you come; there's stuff thrown everywhere on the floor (especially in the women's clothing section), the lines are impossibly long despite the many self check-out options.

Target is a store I really try to avoid most the time for a large variety of reasons. Unfortunately…read morefor me they are a spot that carries a few things I can't find elsewhere. Besides that and a lot of the reason behind the low rating for this particular location is how much of a disaster this store looks like. Now I do suspect it's often due carelessness of customers but it's insane how often the clothing areas look like a tornado ripped through it! Also Target is yet another brand that has limited the amount of items you can have and go through self-checkout which is great to avoid people with full carts slowing the line for those with just a few items. Despite this fact though they don't always have a ton of cashier lanes open which causes back ups for those not using self-checkout. Typically a spot you are better off avoiding unless looking for something specific.

Marden's has been a Maine staple for such a long time. If you grew up in Maine or been here long…read moreenough you likely have heard or seen their famous jingle and/or could even remember the "Marden's Lady". Over the years I have visited quite a large portion of the Marden's stores. I will say I believe this is one of the better locations and one of the largest I think. For selection I would say this location has such a huge variety of everything you could imagine plus so many items you wouldn't expect! You will go in looking to buy say a pair of socks or a rug and wind up walking out with a hammer, garden hose, snacks, and who knows what else. Along with the variety you can definitely find deals that are cheaper than anywhere else. I've found you can find some of the best deals on clothing here. Some other items are just worth passing on though oppositely. Have had no major complaints service wise here at all. Friendly staff although checking out may be a bit slower at times. Despite this and the fact some items really aren't worth buying overall a great store to stop at and browse for some good deals!

There is soooo much here. If you see something you want and you think you might want or need it,…read morejust buy it. The stock rotates constantly and there are always people there scouring for store for deals, whether they are buying for themselves or buying to resell. The store is as organized as they can get it, with things changing over so much, they pretty much just organize by the percentage of discount (center of the store) or by the typical "department store categories" The staff seemed to be ok. Very busy and focused - on products or moving customers through the lines efficiently. They definitely were all working hard from what I could see. The parking lot is always 3/4 full.

Decided to purchase some baby items and when I got home had some second thoughts and decided to make a large return and only kept a few items. One of the items did not have a tag on it but was purchased with the rest of the other things I returned. So as the cashier was trying to figure out the return, the manager MAXINE steps in. Her tone of voice and body language towards me was extremely awful and rude. She clearly made the insinuation that I had stolen the item because apparently there is no way to prove that I had purchased it at a TJMaxx store. I'm a customer that serves in the US Army and works full time for the largest hospital in the state... I don't have to steal from a store like this nor am I going to tolerate an individual like MAXINE making the assumption that I would do something like that. So whatever you do... steer clear of MAXINE and watch your cashiers very closely!!!!

The shelves are neat, the signs are clear, The sales seem endless, week by week. You might find something worth the trip, Though not the treasure that you seek. The checkout lines can drag a bit, The layout's sometimes hard to know. The music hums, the lights are bright, Enough to make you want to go. But still it serves its simple role, A store that's neither best nor worst. Not every stop must dazzle you, Or always leave you feeling cursed. So here's to Kohl's in Westbrook, Maine-- A place that simply gets by. Not good enough to write home about, Not bad enough to wonder why.

Okay, I'm not sure what my 2020 self was thinking, but this Kohl's is rough. As soon as Whole Foods…read morebecame an option for Amazon returns, I never again intentionally chose coming here for a variety of reasons: 1) even though it's close to Portland, it somehow feels like just out of the way enough to be an irritating chore, 2) the parking lot is weird (it's hard to explain but there's like a million seagulls and it's a little lawless so cars are zigzagging everywhere), 3) they were connnnnnstannnnntly changing where in the building the returns were and how many people were working that counter specifically and when they were open, so it became pretty unreliable. The only reason I was coming here was for returns; never for shopping. I'm not sure what I would need here specifically that I couldn't get elsewhere. Anyway, a recent return could ONLY be done here, so I stopped by and... I think they had a makeover. Everything seems blindingly white. And all the mirrors? It gets a little trippy. Also, did they reduce the amount of stuff they're selling in general? It seems they added a Sephora instead (is this the selling point for coming here now?). And, finally, the returns are now a part of the regular check-out area. Yes, okay, that makes total sense! But... the three employees at the cash registers were all looking down at their devices. I just stood there awkwardly until one employee looked up and told another, "customer" then went back to their device leaving their colleague to help me out. TL;DR you're either a Kohls person or you're not, I think. I'm not.
