This bakery is amazingly addicting. Such great treats and squares and loads is creativity! The 15 layer cakes are epic! They even have gluten-free options! I recommend the pumpkin crescent either regular or mini but I promise you, I'd you get the mini, you will wish ups had flown the file size! I am always looking for delicious foods and it is so few and far between to find truly well-made and high quality pastries. This place is hands down THE BEST PASTRIES. I would go as far to say on the west coast, but as I write this I kind of think maybe in the country. It is in a quiet location and I hope that it becomes more well-known and more busy because I was pleasantly surprised. We tried an assortment of almost all the pastries today, and even ones that I ordinarily don't care for are absolutely delicious. Are they fresh? As we were ordering they were baking and pulling freshh croissants out of the oven and putting them on the cooling rack. They are very fresh. My only regret is that I don't have enough stomachs, but my husband and I will be going back frequently. I highly recommend this place and will be supporting them and purchasing regularly. read more

I'm giving it 2 stars because the glazed croissants are not croissants- they are donut dough wrapped in the shape of a croissant and then the price tag should be a donut price but because its a "croissant" the price is jacked up. Was looking online, while visiting Raleigh, for a fun donut place. Came across Burney's so my sister and I decided to try it. We bought 1 dozen glazed croissants, 1 dozen specialty croissants (winter, turtle, peppermint, maple bacon, red velvet, & hot coco!), then 1 dozen filled (lemon, Bavarian cream, apple, strawberry, cherry, blueberry, pineapple, blueberry, & raspberry). The glazed were amazing, the specialty were fun but way too much/too sweet even for the kids, my favorite were the jelly/cream filled. They have the flaky and chewiness of a croissant but the sweetness of a donut. A little on the pricy side but worth it for the fun of it. First time trying Burneys was great. Second time was very disappointed. Ordered 6 eclairs and 4 of them had only a thimble full of filling. The other 2 had just a little more than that. Also ordered a lemon pound cake and it was a sponge cake with a little lemon drizzle on top. I'm not sure if I want try a 3rd time or not. read more
