Also, it is the closest that I have found to my Korean grandma's kimchi, which is a great complement as she is a great cook and kimchi-connoisseur. I also got miso soup on the side which wasn't too flavorful. I placed an online to go order for a rice bowl with kimchi rice, spicy bulgogi, kimchi, and bean sprouts. I pick up my food and there was no wait which was great. But the food was extremely disappointing. The rice was mushy and there was not a lot of kimchi, keeping in mind I selected kimchi rice AND kimchi as a side. Korean rice bowls ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE MUSHY! It's not supposed to be like rice with gravy. It was like eating mush. Very large portions. Unique concept with the hot-stone bowl, warning make sure to mix your food thoroughly so it doesn't stick to the stone. You get to choose your protein, rice and then vegetables. There's an option for bottled drinks or fountain drinks and there's also a soup and salad bar. My only complaint is that we usually go late at night and they start cleaning an hour before they close. So for most of our email there's a strong odor of Fabuloso (floor cleaning product) while they are scrubbing their floors. read more

They have really great stone bowls here, with a ton of different options. Free salad and miso or seaweed soup (self serve). The only thing I don't like is that the non-stone bowls are bad... You end up with cold meat if you order the regular bowl. The first time I went I got a regular bowl since I had been eating a lot of stone bowls. love love love Burning Rice! the name itself does not do this KBBQ justice. I've tried the hot stone way but didn't care for the "burnt rice" at the bottom of the bowl. (Cold bowl) the entree is still hot... and the best way to go. I add all the options to my bowl except egg (just my preference) all of the side are on point. They have lots of base options from white/brown rice to Japchae noodles (really good) Really great variety of meat as well. spicy to non spicy to Bulgogi to Chicken to Pork. (amazing options) - Ohhh the Spicy Shrimp is sooo good too only thing I didn't like was that the shell is still on... Toppings: Spinach - 10, Zucchini - 10, Bean Sprouts - 10, Mushrooms - 10, FISH CAKE - 10!!, Kimchi - 10, Japchae Noodles - 10, Carrots - 10! Again I don't add egg but its still really good with it. Loved the flavors of the garlic pork, spicy pork, and spicy bulgogi that our party tried. 2 of our party ordered "everything" and thought that would include an egg, but apparently it doesn't so be sure to make sure you order one. Coming from a Korean-American family, I'm always on the lookout for some good Korean food. My family and I would visit this place on a weekly basis, both at the Frisco and Colony locations. Food was great up until earlier this week. We noticed right away that they raised the prices across the board by $1, which isn't a big deal to me since I like this restaurant for its hot stone bowls. The problem was that they got rid of key ingredients that complement the flavor, for instance, the green spinach. The quantity of food decreased as well. Also, they got rid of the orange slices by the salad bar. For me, it's all about the principle and the fact that they changed the menu just to meet their bottom line while sacrificing taste, really changed my perspective about this place. I got the hot stone tofu bibimbap. It was ok. I think i personally did not like the flavor of the kimchi. I am vegetarian and think there may have been some fish sauce. It was good, but I've definitely had better. Per order you do get free soup and salad, but if you share only 1 person is allowed to get both, which I guess is fair. The ambiance was nice. I've been to this location several times and the experience had been great. However, as I was paying for my order today, the cashier used his finger to wipe his nose. Then he proceeded to prepare my food so I politely ask him to wash his hands. He apologized for not washing his hands, but I advised him I wanted a refund so I had to wait for a manager for about 10 mins to get my money back. This is a great place to eat if you're looking for fast, asian food. I'd recommend paying the extra $1 to upgrade to the hot stone bowl - it keeps your food hot for the entire meal. You build your own bowl, and pick your rice, protein, & veggies. You can add all the veggies for no extra cost! I loved the spicy chicken, and I'd also encourage you to add the JapChae to your bowl! I ordered the bowl with white rice, spicy chicken, an egg, japchae, carrots, and mushrooms. The serving sizes are worth the price. They also have a free salad bar, and soup.
