My family and I visited for lunch today and surprisingly it wasn't too packed for just beinb opened yesterday. Loved the space inside and you can order from the kiosk. Food was good but the beef was a little salty. The spam musubi was my favorite. Portions are huge so you can definitely share! I'm looking forward to trying a different entree next time! Parking is plenty and easy in the lot. I can't wait until the drive thru opens.

Seafood mix -- shrimp, whitefish, bbq chicken

We came here on their grand opening day, and the place was very crowded. But the ordering and pickup process was well under control. There was a reasonable wait, but it was expected for the first official day of business. Overall, we enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the service. We ordered the BBQ and katsu mix, and the seafood mix. The BBQ and katsu mix came with BBQ chicken and beef, plus the chicken katsu. All were nicely grilled and flavorful. The chicken katsu was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The beef was savory and smoky, richly marinated with soy sauce and other seasonings. The seafood mix was delicious also. The shrimp and the white fish filet was fresh although they were a bit over-breaded. These two dishes came with cabbage and brocolli, creamy macrononi and cheese, plus two big scoops of rice. I have to say the portion size was very generous! The serving team at the counter was friendly, polite, and patient, especially considering most customers were not familiar with the items on the menu. The place has a lively and welcoming vibe with modern décor. I'm sure I'll come back to try some other items on their menu.

What a bust! Grand opening day. No place to park and a line of people wrapped all the way around the building. On the plus side, they had Hawaiian dressed drummers and a tent set up outside to entertain people while waiting for raffle prizes. Was really looking forward to the BOGO DEAL today but I will come back at another time when it's not so crazy.

We came in during the soft opening period and were very impressed with the attention to detail all the new staff had despite the learning period. I got a Chicken Katsu plate and was impressed at the pure amount of food for $13. It has become easily more than one meal for the price and had great value. My partner got the mixed chicken plate and enjoyed what he got, as well. We live nearby and have been awaiting this place's opening for many months, and are not disappointed. I'd love to come try the Kalbi next.

Grand Opening!!! This place is welcoming and the food is great! We, husband and I, came for the Grand Opening and were about forth in line. We got lei's, hats, shirts, and bags! When we got in the ambiance was island feeling. Beautiful fresh flowers on the tables and above the drink cooler. Table set up is good enough for small and large groups. I ordered the Island Fire Chicken and let me tell you it's FIRE as in delicious, savory, make you want more before you finish! He got the Hawaiian BBQ Mix and it was a delicious as it looks! It does not have the same impact as the Island Fire Chicken, but it is tender, juicy and delicious. We also got the Musubi (SPAM and beef), Crab Rangoon, and Hula Guava Pie. The Guava Pie is like a Hawaiian pop tart it was delicious! The people at the counter are welcoming and the manager is very nice and friendly.

Great to have another Hawaii theme restaurant in Collin County. I counted 10 folks working behind counter to get the goods out. If new to area this was a long-time Chick-fil-la restaurant which closed and opened a bigger location due west on other side of Preston Road. See photos of interior including kiosk to place your order.

There are a few spots around that are Hawaii-inspired, but nothing compares to this. Honestly? I went with the Fried Fish and Teriyaki Chicken. The fish was crispy and the chicken was tender. Yum! Every plate lunch comes with cabbage, mac salad, and rice. Broke da mout! Huge bonus! Even though the employee had yet to interact with me, I am prompted for a gratuity. The photos showcasing the menu items were not helpful. For instance, the photo for the Kalua Combo showed a chicken dish and Kalua Pork. When I was prompted for a chicken item, there were no photos. I could not select the chicken shown in the entree. Unlike the online menu which included Teriyaki Chicken, I only recall BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu as options. Fortunately, I opted for the Chicken Katsu. For my beverage, I chose a Hawaiian Sun canned drink. My order was served within 9 minutes. The service already did not match the gratuity. When I asked about my drink, I was pointed to the display case by the kiosk. Sadly, beverage delivery was neither one of her responsibilities nor included service. On their menu, "veggies" was included in various entrees. Veggie would have been a better description as the only vegetable was cabbage leaves. The cabbage was placed underneath the chicken and pork. The water from the cabbage caused the bottom portions of the meat to be soggy. Due to being breaded, the chicken was not as affected as the pork. Of the items served, I enjoyed the macaroni salad the most. It had plenty of flavor. The Kalua Pork which were not soaked in cabbage juice had an okay taste. Not only did the breading on Chicken Katsu provide flavor, it protected the chicken meat from being soggy. While a fork was served with my food, I had to grab a knife from the dispenser. The Chicken Katsu could have been eaten with a fork alone; the cabbage would have been difficult.

I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant with the large mural of a Hawaiian beach and simple island decor peppered throughout. The restaurant is also very clean. I also was fairly happy with the portion sizes for the chicken dishes. The vegetables in the Hawaiian plates were cooked very well and were really good complements with the lunch meals. What didn't work for me: The decoration alone is where this stopped feeling like a Hawaiian restaurant. The Hawaiian plates felt more Asian inspired rather than true Hawaiian inspired. The flavor is excellent, don't get me wrong, but I felt it was a bit of an identity crisis. The Beef BBQ short rib pieces were fatty and overcooked. I had only a few tender bites of beef but the rest was so chewy and fatty that I had to spit it out. Also only had 6-7 pieces of short rib for a $20 plate which I didn't really feel was worth it. The chicken katsu was crispy however I didn't care for the quality of the chicken meat. It was very stringy and tough to bite through in some areas. I was very much looking forward to the macaroni salad but it was just fine. I had high hopes for this one but it just wasn't creamy enough to blow me away. If you have ever visited a Hawaiian island and ever felt like you needed a fix of that memorable vacation, this place won't bring you back to those island memories but you will still be treated very well from a very kind staff. Their attitude is very aloha however I hope one day I can take a bite of their meal and be transported back to island vibes. I would recommend this place if you want solid Asian flavors, but not Hawaiian island specific flavors.

The waitress was very kind and I thought the owner was very sweet to bring out some samples for us to try. The evening started off okay with decent appetizers like the Karage and Gyoza. But when it came to the entrees, it was not my favorite. I will admit we only ordered cooked sushi, and maybe that's not their forté. But the sushi had a noticeable fishy taste, the green bomb was just a mash of mostly rice topped with avocado, and the Cali Poli had the same flavor profile as the bomb despite it being a different fish and presentation style. I love all food, but I had to toss my leftovers away because both my wife and I felt like the food wasn't settling well. I spent $60 for all the food. I'm giving this a 3 star because the staff was super kind, and maybe my wife and I just ordered the wrong things on the menu, but I will not be returning personally.

It is definitely the best seafood taco I have ever had. And I think the best taco of any kind. It's that sublime. I will definitely be getting the double tacos on a regular basis. I ordered the sampler with three sweet & spicy shrimp and four butter garlic. The sweet & Spicy are phenomenal as well. The spice level is like a medium salsa. Maybe slightly more. It wasn't too much for me. They were far better than the butter garlic, which were also good. Updating this to add the photos of a Coco Shrimp Taco from a second visit, two days after the first visit. I didn't think to take pictures from the first visit before I took a euphoric dive into the taco. Pros: - high flavor food - easy ordering - strong value for the $ - easy ordering - fast - gut bomb special as huge portions esp rice Cons: - too too salty - not a place you have lunch at and go back to work. Everyone will know what you ate. Garlic tastes good, but you will smell like it. - Tacos need corn tortilla option. Flour becomes gooey and soggy. Biggest issue is just too too salty.
