He installed two can lights and a dimmer switch in my home office and a dimmer switch, wall sconce and an art light to illuminate some pottery on a shelf (see photos) in my living room. Professionalism - I've had contractors in the past who may have done reasonably good work but we're unprofessional. Jeff was just the opposite. He came to my home so he could more accurately quote the job instead of simply asking me to send photos like some contractors. I was glad so I could point out and discuss things that might have gone missing in photos alone and get his expert advice. He was prompt each time he came out and responded to texts. Some contractors are technically skilled but lack good communication skills. When I asked questions, he was able to clearly answer in a way that I could make good decisions, even changing preconceived notions, and not left wondering if the job would be done haphazardly. Workmanship - I selected Jeff because in my interaction with him, I felt confident that he's highly experienced and knows what he's doing. He did exactly what we agreed on with a clean installation of the lighting and didn't leave a mess. Another example of what I appreciated about his work is that in all the places he had to make cut outs in the wall to run wiring, he replaced the drywall cutouts and recessed the screws to enable the drywall person to do a cleaner job of plastering (see photo). Jerome gave the best quote, most direct answers and quality service by MILES. First off, unlike the competition, working with Jerome feels more genuine and that you are truly working with a local master of his craft. The interactions don't feel corporate or disconnected where you say something to a dispatcher and get something else from the actual contractor. This made communication way easier and things did not get lost in translation as Jerome is very accessible via phone and email. Secondly, I had to harass the other garage companies to get replies back whereas Jerome set a schedule, we got updates, and timelines were kept. Last but not least, pricing is incredibly fair, to the point where someone else also pointed out that they even felt like he undercharged a slight bit. The quotes I was getting elsewhere ranged from $700-1500 more than what was Jerome quoted showing how much of a rip off the other places are.
