    Bean & Cheese Burrito.
    Eric H.

Old school since 1978. I got the Crunchy Beef Taco, a Carne Asada Soft Taco and a Bean & Cheese Burrito. The Crunchy Beef Taco was tasty and flavorful, but the meat in the soft taco was a bit gristly. The Bean & Cheese Burrito could have had some more cheese (my Humble opinion) but it was also good. I've been here twice now and they have lots of regular customers. The lady that runs the lunch crowd is super friendly and helpful, I'm going again just to see her!! (and to get the JVC Burrito). Prices are reduced when you pay with cash. Burrito Express is A'OK.

5 Star burrito spot in Pasadena! I tried a grilled shredded beef burrito with beans and cheese. Chefs kiss! If you've ever grilled a tamale then you need to have your burrito grilled, hands down. They have an excellent selection of burrito styles that reminds me of the wet burrito style. I'm looking forward to trying the spot on a regular basis with family and friends. It's a great idea to take it to go and enjoy at the local park. Quick tip, use cash to pay and receive a lower price. Although both cash and card are accepted. Staff is friendly and will make recommendations if you don't know what to try. I liked their salsa verde, just the right amount of heat. Their salsa roja is all about flavor with little to no heat. There are tables inside that remind me of a former taco stand I would go to with my grandparents. It definitely has a nostalgic feeling.

Burrito Express is a Pasadena institution -- it even has its own dedicated wiki page lol We got the Ross Perot and Pasadena burrito Vic's special. Honestly it was just ok...we got mild and there wasn't much flavor. Also they didn't include any additional salsas so we ate plain chips. My biggest gripe was the salad..the lettuce was soggy and the tomato was half frozen. This restaurant donated money to the wildfires which is so amazing. I'd come back and try other things!

Quesidilla w shredded beef which i love

Hi , Went again the other nite. Got the quesidilla w shredded beef. It was yum. But u do have to pay extra for onions and cilantro which i think is not ok. I get charging extra for sour cream and guac. But their guac is not good , its not real guacamole. Wish they used real guacamole. And i don't care for the mild red salsa , i like green salsa but its too spicey for me. :( but the burritos and quesidillas are good , just think onions and cilantro should be free ( like years ago )

Service was prompt and quick. I got the pasadena burrito and fries. It was good. The burrito was flavorful and the sauce was a good add on. The burritos ain't small here.

Staff were quite nice. When you check in on Yelp, you get a 15% discount on your entire meal. Nice! We decided on a chicken tostada and shredded beef burrito to go. Service was fast. There are 3 inside booths and several outdoor table and chairs. The food was mediocre unfortunately. Even with salsa in the meals they were lackluster. They are several other choices in the area so next time we'll go elsewhere. They have a very small parking lot and some street parking.

This place is delicious and a hidden gem. Small seating areas, both inside and outside. Good price point as well especially at Pasadena prices. The food's made really fast and the workers are nice. Recently had chimichangas for a home Deadpool 3 party.

Ive been craving a classic bean and cheese burrito from Burrito Express so I thought I'd leave a review in the meantime! Im notoriously known in my family to not eat beans, but when I tried this it was sooooooooo good that now Im more open to beans. I got the chicken bean and cheese burrito and its just a simple pleasure that satisfies. I support this business also because they donated to damages caused by the LA wildfires, the staff/owner here are great! Its a simple spot but with good food! Chill location, no drive thru, service is quick! Need to come back soon

Fast service . Friendly staff and with a nice area to sit and enjoy. Fantastic bean and cheese burritos. Get 2. One for later. If you're a bean and cheese type of person, don't sleep on on the B&C burrito w/ green sauce.

The JVC with Meat Burrito (Beef)
    Henry L.

Like their name, this will be an express review. Dropped by since I was close by and was met at the counter by the nicest lady ever. She helped me navigate their rather creative menu and we decided on the JVC burrito. I didn't know which one to get so I got one beef, one chicken, and one pork. Everything about them was delicious except, and this is a big except, the use of double tortillas. They state it clearly on the menu so I was expecting it but I figured they would make it work somehow. But alas it did not. It was a whole lot of tortilla to bite through and they're not particularly tasty at that. With some careful knife work I removed one tortilla from the burrito without compromising its integrity and it was sooo much better. Next time I'm going to make the request for one tortilla only and all will be good!

    JVC burrito is huge!

They have what they call 'snacks' on a large menu. These are more than snacks, they are full meals. I decided on some Ramen and Potstickers. I was impressed that they asked me exactly how I wanted things prepared. Spice levels were a prime consideration, so I decided on medium spicy. As I waited on my order, I looked at their beverage menu that was filled with different Boba coffees, teas and slushies. There are also quite a number of items on the menu that I want to try with different styles of preparation. After about 10 minutes my food was ready and I was out the door and on my way home. They do have areas inside this location to dine inside. When I unpacked my food at home, I was pleased to see how carefully it had been put together. They had everything individually wrapped. I was eager to try the potstickers first. The Pork Potstickers were delicious. Great flavor and moist with a crisp outside edge. The Japanese Miso Ramen wes filled with flavor and spice. I added some Sriracha and Soy Sauce to complete my preference. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some different beverages and flavors from the kitchen.

When you come in, there is a sign that tells you to order before being seated. My sister and her bf had yet to arrive so I placed a sizeable order for the 4 of us. Luckily, they were there (waiting in the car) so I told them to walk over so we can be seated. I ordered 2 orders of chiayi chicken (1with white rice and 1 with brown rice), 2 orders of thousand layer pancake (1 with egg and 1 with egg and cheese), shrimp wonton, dance dan noodles, wonton noodle soup, hakka mochi and forbidden rice pudding. For drinks we had a few of the shaken iced green teas and 1 taro milk tea (my sister said it didnt taste like taro) Everything was great. I was surprised my sister's bf liked the food. The chiayi chicken was good with a bit of the chili sauce (sambal). The thousand layer pancake was good if you dip it in the black vinegar (mixed with chili oil and a little soy sauce). The shrimp wonton were surprisingly light and tasty. The dan dan noodles was balanced my medium thin sliced cucumber. Everything was portioned very small so you can try everything.we didnt get additional sides because were getting full. The desserts was what I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. The hakka mochi reminded me of the soy pudding stalls in singapore that had mochi balls filled with a black sesame paste and peanut paste inside. This is what the hakka mochi was but in dry soft chewy form with black sesame and peanut grains to top it off. For my sister, it reminded her of the filipino dessert pichi pichi. The forbidden rice pudding reminded me of a soupy version of the filipino dessert biko. It had chunks of sweet potatoes and tapioca. Also very good but my bias is the hakka mochi. The ambiance was bright, bustling and inviting. Very small tables perfect for a quick bite. Highly recommend if you want a tapas style lunch that doesn't break the bank.
