    My wife's Hainan chicken Togo
    Ken W.

I went to lt9 today in Pasadena because this is where my dad lives and I was running an errand around the area. I first learned about LT 9 in Facebook https://www.facebook.com/reel/2170311987219358/?fs=e&s=TIeQ9V&fs=e&mibextid=wwXIfr&fs=e Where advertises $9.99 for very large hainan chicken with rice multiple times in my Facebook and I thought I'd try it out because I was in the area. The Facebook video shows very big plates if chicken. I went to buy three hainan chicken and a nice lady informed me when she was taking my order Lunch time special come with discounted chicken soup or drinks. So I ordered one to eat there and two separate ones to go for my dad and wife. Overall, the chicken and rice portion was not big like what I saw in the advertisement and the rise does not have enough flavor of the chicken oil and the chicken was OK. The sauce consist of soy sauce and the green ginger sauce, which is OK also, overall the 9.99 big hainan chicken wit rice is super exaggerated on the advertisement. It is a good price for the portion, but it was not large. The parking cost me $10 nearby hard to find free parking as it's close to old town and there are many others SGV places that are way better and larger portion, even though it's cost a little bit more. I probably will not go there again and this is only worth it someone works close by and wanted an inexpensive quick HAINAN chicken. Hopefully it helps anyone that saw the Facebook ad advertisement. I feel kind of cheated so I don't trust Facebook anymore. For your info my HAINAN chicken at the restaurant. It's also using the Togo container not in a plate like the Facebook video.

We had a wonderful experience at LT9 in Pasadena! The owner is really friendly, warm, and easy to talk to. She gave us a complimentary shaved ice, which was excellent for the extremely hot weather! The Hainan Chicken was delicious--tender and savory, especially when served with the many sauces and warm soup on the side. The drinks were also delicious, with plenty of taste and refreshing options. LT9 is a terrific place to eat, relax, get a drink, and hang out on a hot day. Friendly service, delicious cuisine, and a warm setting made our visit much more enjoyable.

This place is known for its tasty drinks and Hainan chicken. They have lunch specials of Hainan Chicken $11.99. Generous portions. We also ordered spicy Mala chicken $17.99. Drinks were fun! We got the watermelon milk boba. Super tasty. Dessert was mango shaved ice. Tasty! Amazing customer service! Clean environment but limited seating.

Super refreshing during this heat wave. Not too sweet, not too sour, and the red bean added just a nice such a sweetness

Great lunch deal where you get a set meal and a tea drink. My favorite food item here is the Hainan Chicken Rice, and it seems to be a crowd favorite. The chicken portion is generous, yet silky and the rice is really nice cooked in the chicken broth. The soup is very soothing too. I was able to share this with another and enjoyed it. For $9.99 lunch, this is incredible!! The milk teas and seasonal drinks are also solid! Location is tucked on a corner with some street parking but closeby paid parking structures as well.

Picked up some teas; two milk teas, one with boba and one with jelly and also a berry milk tea. They were ok, not amazing. They needed to be colder to taste fresher. Overall the store is kinda dirty. Just keep your eyes up. Service was a computer.

Saw an Ads for this place for a Hainan chicken, so had to go and try it. First glance, this place look like just any ordinary bubble tea place but with food. Mainly Hainan chicken rice, traditional or spicy chicken plate. The chicken was good. Chicken was tendered and not dry. The ginger and the light soy sauce were good. Compliments the dish very well. The ordering system here needs a lot of help. About the place, order through the kiosk and they only have one and if there is special, it doesn't reflect on the kiosk ordering system plus took one of the customer about 10 min to choose and select his orders while there was a line waiting. At the time, there was two people working behind the counter and it seemed that service is not what they are there for. Also, the restroom is out of order and paid parking only, either off street or parking garages.

Delicious, tender, and boneless Hainanese chicken over rice. $12.99 is a good price, but kind of small.

I visited LT9 mainly for their Hainanese chicken rice. I arrived past 7 pm, and there was a sign stating that the kitchen closes at 7:30 pm. There was no one behind the counter. The restaurant only offers a touchscreen self-order kiosk. I guess this is a cashless business. At first I was struggling with placing my order, but I got it all figured out. The Hainanese chicken rice costs $12.99 plus tax. The lunch special price is a little cheaper. My food was hand-delivered to my tiny table. The woman then quickly disappeared into the backroom. I came to realize that I didn't get any chicken broth. Oh well... The chicken rice dish came with 2 slices of cucumbers and 2 small things of sauces. One is sweetened soy sauce, and the other one is ginger scallions sauce. The ginger sauce is rather bland, not enough gingery punch. The chicken is boneless, really tender, and tasty. Many Hainanese chicken places serve bone-in chicken. The boneless version is actually very nice and refreshing. The rice tastes good too. I finished my food rather quickly since it's a small serving. I walked out with a strawberry matcha drink in my hand, but I was still feeling hungry. When I got home, I made mie goreng for myself. The food is pretty good, however small serving. For an extra $2-3, I could've gotten a more satisfying dinner some place else. Thank goodness parking cost only a dollar, otherwise I could've gotten really annoyed. I parked about two blocks south in a parking structure. It's a dollar for the first two hours, $2 for an additional hour. There is street parking on Raymond (if you can find a spot), but you would still have to pay or risk getting a parking ticket (if your meter expires). LT9 is a fast food restaurant with limited seats. The interior decor feels a bit cold to me. I may return to this eatery in the future, only when I have to run errands in Old Town Pasadena.

Chicken rice worth the hype. Four season oolong tea is delicious. Strawberry matcha latte needs to have a better matcha to be frank with you. Overall, a solid 4 stars.

I came around 3 pm on Tuesday and noticed the store was fairly empty. Service:3/5 I waited around for 5 minutes at the counter, and had to ring the bell twice before I was helped. It seemed like there was only one person working the whole shop. Parking 1/5: Parking can be pretty difficult to find. Theres metered street parking around. Ordered: I ordered Hainan chicken for takeout 3/5: the chicken was nice and juicy but the dish did not take like Hainan chicken imo. They drizzled a teriyaki/sweet sauce over the chicken which took away from the flavor and was really distracting. Other than the sauce, it was okay Overall I probably wouldn't come back because parking can be difficult and the food wasn't spectacular

    Sesame oil chicken noodle soup

Excellent Hainan chicken and sesame oil chicken noodles! The chicken is so tender and fragrant it just melts in your mouth. They use the same Hainan chicken for the sesame oil noodle soup, making it even more delicious. The broth is so thick and delicious that I actually added a cup of water to it, and it was still so flavorful and aromatic! It has a clean, full-bodied savoriness that is just right. Plus, this Taiwanese style noodle is deeply nourishing--perfect for gifting nursing moms postpartum or anyone feeling under the weather!

I went to this place for the first time with my friends. They have such a variety of drinks. They have matcha, hojicha, fruit teas, hand craft milk teas, coffees, sparkling, and more! I tried their matcha latte with boba! And I really liked it I got 50% sweetness and it was perfect I usually prefer my drinks to not be too sweet. I definitely want to order this again! I really like that you were able to order a second drink just for $2 more! My friend also enjoyed their coffee drinks. They also have entrees, side dishes, dim sum, They also have desserts too as well. During the summer they have Shaved iced. I haven't tried yet but I'll have to try next time! Parking was a bit hard to find but they may have some street parking available They had indoor seating available. There was no outdoor seating

After having lunch nearby, my partner and I wanted something refreshing to sip on. We found this spot and decided to check it out. There were so many drink options on the menu. Ultimately, we went with two of their top drinks. The Sun Moon Lake Milk Tea has a ruby black tea base. It tasted milky with a hint of honey. We added panna cotta, which added a silky texture and made the drink better. The Jasmine Blossoms Milk Tea uses triple-infused artisan jasmine green tea. This one was fragrant and refreshing. It paired well with the milky jelly topping. Other than beverages, they serve a bunch of various foods such as dumplings, noodle soup, chicken rice, desserts, and more. I have yet to try any of these though. My main complaint is that they were majorly understaffed. Only one person was working on a Saturday, so we had to wait over 30 minutes just for our 2 drinks. I would only come back if the wait time is more reasonable.

They take orders on paper and the bill also came on paper. Now, here's something that really brings back memories -- they way they make their Hainan Chicken -- most places make them with boneless meats (dark or white), which is easy to consume, of course; but this place make them with bones. I recall this was how Hainan chicken was made decades ago when I visited the Chinatown in Singapore. On that trip I learned that Man-Chan is an old city in the Hainan Province in China; and "Man Chan Chicken" is the origin of the worldly popular Hainan Chicken today. So, if you want some old fashion and AUTHENTIC Hainan Chicken, at an old fashion prices, this is the place!!

The food is a mix of Cantonese Hong Kong Cafe style and Hainan. It came out quickly but was very disappointing. The Hainan chicken was tasty but mostly bone, barely any meat. The rice was ok. The french style filet mignon was good but the rice was literally ketchup rice with a little egg, pretty flavorless. And the meat was ok but way to much onion. The coconut "cake" was basic coconut jelly inside a hollowed coconut. Overall this was an extremely overpriced and disappointing meal. Would not return.

The hot and sour soup was thick and chunky, just how I like the soup. The scallion bread sandwich with 5-spice beef was distinct. The bread was perfectly baked and the beef was flavorful and juicy. There was both mustard greens and pickles that gave crunch and acidity to balance the meat and bread. The lotus root salad was refreshing while still having a kick from their in-house chili oil. Dan Dan noodles were also excellent. Fresh cucumbers, chewy noodles, flavorful sauce. Hearty portions with enough for a lunch the next day. Also appreciated the speed of service. I was surprised by the long line and waited about 15-20 minutes to order. I tried the minced pork over rice, a five-spice beef bun, beef fun to go, and a taro drink. I found a seat right away, and the food came out promptly. The rice was topped with delicious fresh pickles and a tasty egg. Unfortunately, I didn't care for the minced pork. The texture was mushy, and it seemed either overcooked or like it had been sitting under heat too long. It definitely didn't taste freshly cooked. It also had a bitter flavor that reminded me of five-spice powder that had been cooked too long. I ate about half because I was hungry but didn't take the rest home. The taro drink was just okay. It wasn't blended smoothly and had chunky pieces getting stuck in the straw. The good news is the beef bun was tasty after I warmed it up at home. In hindsight, I should have just gotten a few of those instead of the minced pork! I've eaten authentic Taiwanese food in Taiwan, so I do have a point of comparison. Unfortunately, based on what I tried, Joy was underwhelming overall.
