Pretty much same menu as the other places though. If you're familiar, it's almost exactly the same menu. The people here are friendly and helpful. But if you're not familiar they're known for obviously they're burritos. These burritos are a little small smaller and thinner so it's normal to order like two or three. I ordered two burritos and a Coca-Cola. It really hit the spot and it was super delicious. The tortillas are amazing. I believe I got the chicken tinga and deshebrada. Parking is street parking. There's a couple of folding tables in front and it's outdoor seating accompanied by a couple of portable gazebos. Most people were taking food to go, but I could not wait. You order from a window and while the menu is sparse it's overwhelming thinking about the combos. I settled on the birria and the chicharon and decided to go all out with bean and cheese addition to each. The burritos are a specific style and meant to be smaller and thinner. You can buy in two pack or three pack. The burritos are individually wrapped and come paired with a raw chili pepper which was fantastic to bite into between bites of the burritos. The contrast of textures work so well between chewiness and then the crunch of the raw pepper. The chicharon was fantastic. Porky and flavorful. I do wish it had a crunch of chicharon fried pork skin, but it was good. The birria was probably the clear winner of the two. It was Smokey and rich and paired effortlessly with the oozing melting cheese. My only critique is the salsa wasn't as hot as I would like, but overall with a drink my meal came up to under 15 DOLLARS. It's been a number of years since I've had Burritos La Palma after Jonathan Gold (LA Times Food critic) raved about these mini burritos. This location is in Boyle Heights, just on the other side of the LA River and not too far from DtLA. Burritos are snack size. So, you'll need a few to make it a meal. Order the 3-burrito combo for under $15. What's I like here are the flour tortillas. It's not too thin or too thick and has a nice chew to it. They're hand made here and grilled with your choice of guisado. I ordered the birria de res (spiced shredded beef), deshebrada (shredded beef with green chili and potato) and frijoles y queso. All were really tasty. Salsa here is refreshing but not too spicy so you'll need to take a bite out of that fresh jalapeno they compliment. Service here is quick and really friendly. Located a block away from Ramirez Liquor, grab a bottle of tequila on the way back. Great to see them expand without discounting quality and flavor. Getting street cred on the Michelin Bib Gourmand List says a lot. I do think a few other restaurants in this area deserve some credit as well. read more

I haven't physically been to the location yet, but I've ordered through Uber Eats--and even then, the experience was chef's kiss. I love that the burritos are small but packed with flavor. Simplicity at its best. I've tried the birria, the tinga, and the bean burritos. The birria is by far my favorite--the meat is incredibly tender and juicy. Ever since a friend introduced me to their deshebrada burritos, I've been hooked. The burritos are shredded beef and potato in green chile and I literally crave them ALL THE TIME. You can order 2 for $10 or 3 for $15. Personally, I go with the pair because it's the perfect portion without feeling overstuffed. Burritos are delicious! Just wish they were a bit bigger since they are not in the traditional burrito size. From the ones that I've tried, the deshebrada burrito was my favorite. The burritos come with salsa and a serrano jalapeño to give additional flavor to the burritos. The service was quick. My wife and I and her dad went try the burritos at the Burritos La Palma,I found the place they parking. It's a stand there's tables chairs a tent that you can sit and pick up your meal. The price are very affordable and the burritos are average size. We decided to order my wife order the chicken tinga burrito and a cheese quesadilla and her dad order the chicharron burritos and I got the Birria burritos . Couple minutes later they call my name then I pick the food. I took a bite of the Birria burrito amazing great flavor the beef was so tender and sauce incredible good so spices in sauces I really enjoy it. Caught this place right before they were about to close (6pm). My friend was smart enough to check and call them to make a last minute order before they closed. Michelin rated mexican place in East LA that was highly recommended. Overall, great burritos! One thing I'll add is that they are small so a single burrito will probably not be enough. Buy a few. The only reason I didn't go often is because, El Monte is not a location I usually pass by. But now with this new LA location near the corner of Soto and Olympic--right around where the 60 weirdly morphs into the 10 FWY, I can finally get my fix whenever I'm passing through downtown. Today was my first time at this spot and I'm blown away. It's like I always knew how good it was, but nothing ever nudged me to go. That's changed now. Let's talk portions: If you're into quantity over quality, this place isn't for you. These burritos are small. Most people grab 2 or 3. I'm good with 2 these days, but in my younger, hungrier years? Probably 3 or 4 easy. You can add beans and cheese and get it toasted for 50 cents more, which definitely adds value--but personally, I keep it classic. Just meat, pure flavor and nothing to distract from it. And please--don't be that person whining about the size. You're free to go to Taco Bell.
