Had dinner at Burros and Churros and was greeted by amazing waitress and owners. The dining environment was comfortable with a fire going and good music. The food was also amazing, I had a steak, blue cheese salad and my husband had the chicken sandwich. For dessert we had churros with caramel apple sauce. So good! Burros n Churros has it all, including some of the best hospitality and kindest service I've experienced in a while. Though we came in to order takeout (and they really wanted us to stay!), we were able to sit at a table with menus while deciding what we wanted, and we were even served water and multiple baskets of chips & salsa while waiting -- for free! Everyone was so kind and attentive. As for the food, it was everything we needed. Our group had just hiked over 11 miles, so the burgers, sandwiches, and sweet potato fries really "hit the spot", and it was all delicious. We only sampled a couple of the menu's numerous items, and we'd love to come back and try more. Highly recommend! read more

What a nice place! We were riding motorcycles on our way to Lassen Volcanic Park and looking for a lunch spot before heading up the mountain. First thing I noticed was the abundance of parking, outdoor seating and then walking into a super cute and clean place. The staff and owners were friendly and attentive in every way. We had the Build a Bowl with tasty grilled fajita veggies, fresh crunchy salad greens and enjoyed the house made red & green salsa and the jalapeño crema. We were too hungry to snap a picture of our food but for sure our plates were empty in the end. Can't wait to go back! read more

The staff is fantastic and so is the food. We all left empty plates. One thing to watch out for is all the additional costs (sour cream, tots, guacamole, cream). There were 10 of us and they were on it. We had Birchwood Burger and tots (so good), enchilada (sauce was very good), big burro burrito (monster), pulled pork sandwich (just the right amount of sauce and cabbage, tostada, breaded chicken sandwich (also a monster) and build your own bowl. It was all so good and well priced. We ended the meal with churros and chocolate/strawberry ice cream (it tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry). Thanks for a great meal and great service. Have seen this place and been meaning to try it and so glad I finally did. Ordered the tri-tip birria dip and it was great. Nice portion with great flavor, and the dip is a mix of au jus and salsa, which is something I have never seen done before but added a nice flavor. Got fries for the side and they were excellent as well, with a nice crispy coating. Service was above and beyond from the moment I opened the door. Little pricey but well worth it for the portion and service. Don't write a lot of reviews but wanted to give credit where credit is due. Will be back again definitely. read more

There is some for everyone!! mexican food, american food, FROSTY ice cream, churros! i had two gourmet tacos DELICIOUS!! their tortilla soup was super tasty / southwestern style for sure. their quest dip was an old comfort food fav and it was gone in 30 seconds. my 11 yr old (picky) said the burger was the best he'd had ever. we BARELY sat down and they already had complementary baskets (2) of chips and TWO kinds of salsa on our table. so friendly, owners came to our table to personally welcome us??!! WHO DOES THAT! the vibe was "family" - casual dress (shorts and flip flops were fine) and a giant wide screen TV playing country music. wished we had seen it sooner on our 7 day vacation, we would have gone more than once for sure. For a small town restaurant, Burros & Churros serves food that can easily compete with some of the best Mexican food I've had in LA, San Francisco, San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson and the entire state of Texas! We ordered several platters of their Classic Tacos, Street Tacos and Gourmet tacos along with their enchiladas, rice, beans and homemade salsa's and guacamole, all of which were delicious, tasty, and "autentico". Shredded tri-tip enchiladas and tacos? Yes please! Of course their churros and dipping sauces, chocolate, caramel, and apple caramel puree, were excellent also. We had enough leftovers that made for a tasty Mexican breakfast with scrambled eggs the next day. There is more than Mexican food on their menu, all of which I'm sure is excellent as well. Burros & Churros is also close to Lake Almanor where we stayed at, just 15 mins away. Have to also mention the owners and staff define the words "gracious" and friendly". this place sucks idk why people keep saying it's good. It isn't authentic at all and overpriced for their small portions. this place also made me RUN to the bathroom within half an hour of eating it. go to carlos restaurant instead, at least it's significantly more authentic mexican food. read more
