Dined here Monday 6/29, about 7:30pm. I like the ambience, it wasn't too loud, tge lighting was great. Our server came to take our drink order and announced bottles of wine were half off, so we asked for more time. Long story short, on a not busy Monday it took 30 minutes to get water, our cocktails were forgotten until halfway through the appetizer, and the appetizer was cleared when the entrées arrived. Before anyone could protest it was dumped. When it comes to entrées our consensus was they needed seasoning, even if it is just salt. To drive the point home, ,as we were leaving the table a chef took the table behind us, entree in hand, and proceeded to add a lot of salt and pepper. The spinach was over cooked and the rice was burned and lukewarm. The whipped potatoes were lukewarm, too. The trout and salmon were well prepared, however. I hope this was just an all around off night, so I plan to try again at the end of July. However, I will sit at the bar and I will order a burger. Because of the cost I expected much better on all fronts and we left very disappointed. read more

Excellent drinks! It's very rare to get your favorite alcohol beverage come out the exact same way each time but this place delivers just that! It's exactly how I want my drink each time. We love this place. I highly highly suggest the flatbread selection and the maple mustard glazed salmon- it is so yummy. The ambiance here is amazing too, I felt so comfy here. Burt & Max's is a great restaurant and bar. They have the best Happy Hour in town hands down. You get a big bang for your buck and the drinks they pour are very generous compared to other establishments. Everyone from the management, hostesses, servers, and bar staff are very friendly and do a nice job at keeping customers happy. I have never had a bad meal and have eaten here countless times. Can't forget the brunch on weekends with the "Make your own Bloody Mary Bar". Thursday's are lots of fun because there is live music outside at the amphitheater with easy access to the bar. Ask for Melissa if you want a killer drink, she wont disappoint. read more

What a find! After family night at the movies, we decided to go to Burt & Maxes. I can't say enough about the experience, but I will try. First of all, finding out kids eat free with an adult Entree was a great surprise. Dining with two kids can sometimes be a bit tough, but our server Joey was extremely patient and gave the kids coloring books to keep them entertained. My wife got a "Cure" fresh blueberry and pomegranate with Vodka, awesome!! I had a farmhouse burger which was definitely a must try. The kids loved the pizza and chicken. fingers. My wife was very impressed with the maple glazed salmon! After that, We all split the Key lime pie, Best I have ever had! It is nice that some restaurants still have the managers check on their patrons. the Manager (unfortunately I did not get her name) came by our table to make sure everything was great, Always a nice touch. My wife and I ate here the other night and the food and service were both above par. I had a bacon rapped meatloaf that was amazing. Their happy hour menu was also very inviting but we wanted to try a couple dishes. Server could not have been more attentive and the manger even stopped by to see that everything was great. I have tried to give this restaurant a try on 3 separate occasions over the course of a year. I give up! The manager does not belong in this business! He is lacking any and all manager qualities. Never talks to guest if there is an issue. Never walks the floor to do table checks. Has no authority over the staff that deffinatly needs more training. I went out to dinner with some friends for the first time since COVID broke. The environment felt safe and the staff was conscientious about their actions. Food was delicious. Ok, i was very disappointed here, but I'm a Chef, but when you pay nearly 30 bucks for a marinated skirt steak you expect the presentation to spot on. That was not the case, the whole steak was placed on top of the mashed Wasabi potatoes and green beans, a 4 year old could do better. I would personally cut the steak into 3 equal lengths and stack them on on siesta potatoes in the corner and green beans in the middle. I am writing this review for my family that I actually recommended to go to Burt and Max's on Saturday and they were a party of 8 visiting from New York and they were treated rudely and indicated that there was a 2 hour wait because they said that they needed to make a reservation when actually the restaurant was almost empty we feel that we were discriminated and I don't think that is good service with the type of establishment this is.... The hostess was very very very rude I have been other time there and never treated the bad. read more

In addition, they are very particular about seating and holding tables open when reservations are 1.5 - 2 hours away. We were very fortunate to be seated in Joes section, his knowledge of the menu and ingredients used in each dish was spot on. We felt very comfortable asking his opinion on different menu items, he guided us in ordering some of the best choices. One of the items we shared as a appetizer was the pizza with roasted mushrooms. We also had the onion soup dumplings, both choices were excellent. The menu is eclectic, giving many different choices. Have been coming here for about 6 years! Not only for the great food, but the atmosphere and great staff as well! The unique drinks are really good as well! One of my favorite parts about coming here is the corn bread in the beginning! I have not had a dish so far here that I didn't like! They also have a must try dessert if you like carrot cake go for the jumbo cupcake it's so huge you can share with many people! This restaurant is hit or miss. I've had some of the best meals here but also some of the worst. Also, a couple of my favorites from their menu are no longer offered.
