Eighteen days ago Bill Shramm and a plumber (Gino?) arrived at my house. They evaluated a sewer clean out and a sewer liner, both of which were installed by Burtech thirty months earlier. They found a root growing in the lined system. Schamm said that although the two-year warranty had recently lapsed, it was likely Burtech would still honor the warranty and remove the root. He even suggested the repair could be performed the following week. The decision, Schramm said, to repair the Burtech-lined pipe would rest with the company's owner. Schramm eventually left my house in apparent frustration as he was unable to successfully explain my sewer system's clean outs; he simply walked to his truck and drove off, quite aggravated. I called Bill Schramm today because I had not heard from him since he evaluated my sewer almost three weeks earlier. He said the boss had been "busy." Schramm said Burtech's owner refused to clean the root from the sewer at no charge, but he would be pleased to charge me for the repair. Without getting into details, I felt Schramm was ultimately a very rude, impatient, and easily offended salesman. He was disturbingly defensive. When the Burtech plumber, Gino, attempted to explain to me an issue that Schramm was failing at, he rudely cut Gino off and motioned for Gino to go immediately to his truck. I would have invited Gino's input. The plumber seemed knowledgable, respectful and eager to help. Shramm would have none of it. When I quoted another company's plumber's derogatory comments about the construction of Burtech's clean outs, Schramm accused me of being the source of those words. I continually had to remind they were not my words but those of a professional plumber who had evaluated the sewer the previous day. Overall, a very, very bad experience. This is my second review for Burtech Plumbing and I am happy to report that their care and service continues to be excellent. I appreciate so much that they have an answering service, so whenever we have needed anything, we always spoke to a real person and didn't have to wait on hold or talk to an answering machine. Over the past few years, we have had different issues (clogged shower, curious spot on the ceiling, toilet that made a dripping noise, etc). In each case, Burtech has been responsive and their professionals (specifically Jaimie, Jose and Ely) have been outstanding. Burtech Pluming Came out this morning, Mike help us out..& I am Extremely excited that he was able to take out a snake that was up on the roof in a vent..it was suck up there for a long time because plumbers would come out "To Fix the issue" but DIDN'T.. this snake was the cause of all the clogs that I would get through out my house. Having dealt with trades over the years, I am able to appreciate an outstanding professional such as Eli, the Burtech plumber, that came to my home to carefully and efficiently replace two faucets. I found him conscientious right from his courtesy call letting me know his eta. Eli was prepared with booties and mask. He laid down absorbent mats under each sink to make sure that his areas of work were kept dry and clean. I have had Burtech Plumbing come to my mother's house twice. The first time was for a leaky faucet, which also had a valve that could no longer be adjusted. During the first visit the valve was fixed but a second visit was needed to fix the leaky faucet since the handles had fused to the sink. Our kitchen sink was clogged and Burtech plumbing was the only company (out of 5), who gave a upfront cost estimate for unclogging it. Unfortunately we weren't able to schedule them initially and went with another plumber. They failed to unclog the sink after spending about 2 hours at it. As a next step, they recommended more drastic measures like opening up the ceiling of the garage (where the kitchen sits over) to look at the pipes. We scheduled Burtech plumbing for a second opinion. Jose came by on a Sunday and unclogged the sink in less than 30mins. Quick, effective and reliable. We recently needed to swap out a dishwasher for a wine refrigerator Alter many calls to electricians handy men and plumbers a friend recommended Burtech Plumbing in Encinitas. I called them last Monday and was immediately given any day option for service that week. Kyle came out and not only helped carry the wine refrigerator to the kitchen and carry the dishwasher down a few steps to the garage but built a custom cap off in the back of his truck to complete the job in a very timely manner. Burtech came out yesterday to replace our old main water shutoff valve which had unfortunately broken and was stuck in the off position. Elbert was awesome - he identified the issue, drew up options, explained what he would do in detail, then tackled the project as soon as I signed off on the work. Unfortunately, the street-level shutoff valve was completely stuck so I had to call the city to come out and close it off before he could start the job. They said they could send someone out between a few hours to 48 hrs! In the meantime, Elbert helped with another minor fix where I needed to shorten the gas connection to our dryer so it could be closer to the wall. He fixed that in no time, but the city had still not shown up so he said he'd be back in the morning (assuming our water was off by then). Of course, right when he left, the city showed up! I called Burtech to see if Elbert would be able to come back so we didn't have to go another night without water. He came back within 10 minutes and got the job done. Plumbing work (along with electrical) is one of the areas I don't DIY much due to the risk of absolute disaster so it's nice to know that I can reach out to Burtech for any future work. My main water line burst causing a gusher leak. I was able to shut off water at the meter. Based on their ratings I called Burtech, they sent someone out the next day who found the problem. I needed to run a new main line, which was dependent on a digging crew. Fortunately they were able to rig up a temp feed so we had toilets and running water. Total cost seemed to be in the ballpark of other quotes. Job completed in 1 day and everything is up an running again. Great job. read more
