3.5 STARS I was looking forward to giving Bushfire Kitchen a try especially because they market themselves as serving "high-quality, fresh and locally sourced fruit and vegetables" so we decided to order delivery via UberEats. Unfortunately, for $60 total, the portion size felt pretty small. I'm not sure if it's because we got delivery, or if the portion size would have been different had we ordered in-restaurant). We got the Grilled Chicken Bowl, Salmon Bowl, and a Quinoa and Power Greens Salad. The meat of the Chicken Bowl and Salmon Bowl were a bit too salty for me personally, but overall was decent and I wouldn't mind eating it again. I did enjoy the Butternut Squash of the Salmon Bowl! What was most disappointing was the Salad. The portion size was incredibly small and I was bummed to find it was topped with nothing but canned ingredients - mandarin orange segments you get from a can, canned garbanzo beans and canned beets on top a thin layer of greens, with a light sprinkle of quinoa and avocado slices that also were turning color. I was hoping for ingredients that would be fresh and not from a can so definitely felt let down. I can't speak to the service as we didn't dine in, but in passing by the restaurant multiple times, parking always looked ample and plentiful. I really wanted to like Bushfire Kitchen and am always excited to support and try new businesses in the area, but I'm not sure I'll find myself back anytime soon.

We're back!!! This time, this place definitely deserves 5+++ stars!!! Food and service are both EXCELLENT!!! Our order was rung up correctly and the workers were extremely friendly and accommodating! We'll definitely be back!

The workers were really nice, and there are both indoor and outdoor tables to sit at. You order at the front, then they give you a number and bring the food out to you. It's definitely a healthier style restaurant and I really liked it. Empanadas (beef & chicken): Both were really good, i'd definitely come back for these! Surf and Turf: The sauces that came with it were really good. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the mixed veggies and brussels sprouts were delicious. The steak was a little tough to chew though. Peri Peri Burger: I wish the peri peri flavor was a bit stronger, but overall it was still a decent burger.

They place has nice fresh food. Prices are decent too and the staff are friendly. Some suggestions to make it a 5 star review: add vegan/ vegetarian protein options, speed up the service just a bit (takes a while even when it's not busy), and improve sauce flavors. I didn't love the sauce on the cauliflower or the Brussel sprouts.

Ordered delivery through DoorDash on a Friday evening. The food arrived fast enough but the to-go box wasn't very secured and the sauce spilled a bit. The food was absolutely delicious in big portions. We had Peri peri chicken with cauliflower and mashed potatoes, Nashville spicy grilled chicken sandwich and lemon cooler cookie. I was surprised at how yummy everything was. They have great gluten free options and they use quality beef and chicken as well! We will definitely order deliveries from here again!

I've been seeing rave reviews for Bushfire so I decided to check them out. Orders are placed at the counter and delivered to your table when they're ready. The staff is professional and efficient but not particularly welcoming. There is ample inside seating which is nicely arranged. There's also a very nice covered patio for outside seating. The food smells amazing as you walk into the restaurant! They offer a nice selection of bowls, salads, sandwiches, and sides. They also have a couple of small cases on the counter loaded with empanadas and desserts. Today I ordered the chicken empanada, their seasonal guava cream empanada, and a side of sweet potato fries. I've been on an empanada binge lately and I was particularly excited to try theirs. The chicken empanada was decent, but nothing really stood out about it. The guava cream one was delicious! I'd definitely get this one again! The sweet potato fries came with a peri peri mayo dipping sauce, which was a nice change from typical sauces. There were a couple of sandwiches that sounded good that I'm looking forward to trying next time.

Bushfire Kitchen just dropped their Japanese spring-inspired menu so you know I had to go try it. The miso salmon crunch bowl was so colorful and has housemade miso glaze on high-protein, flaky salmon, all on a bed of furikake garlic fluffy rice. But let's talk about the Tokyo glaze BBQ chicken sandwich. She's panko-crusted, not deep-fried, juicy, AND comes with cheesy umami parmesan-dusted fries. The Japanese BBQ dipping sauce it came with was to die for. The new miso-glazed broccoli has the same addicting sauce too! Thanks for reading! ^-^

Thai coconut curry with butternut squash

This place definitely has home style healthy meals. We discovered it from IG reels and decided to give it a try for dinner. We both got bowls. I opted for a healthier version with veggies as a base and my boyfriend got jasmine rice. Both of us got chicken, me coconut Thai and him teriyaki. Chicken was both juicy and flavorful. I think the real highlight of the meals were the toppings. I got butternut squash and he got balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts. Omg both were so delicious. They also have miso broccoli and Korean cauliflower. We want to try those next time.

New day, new bowl. Today we ate here in person. I ordered the superfood bowl which was delicious! Better than the last bowl I had, and also a very generous portion, it was quite filling and I couldn't even finish it all. I also tried the guava and cheese empanada, very tasty, in fact I shared it with my husband and then regretted it lol because I could've eaten the whole thing! We sat out in the patio which is nice, partially covered and has heaters and fans. Customer service was great, the staff were nice and pleasant to interact with. Overall a great experience.

I am new to this place, and my first visit left a lasting impression. The food is fantastic. The choices here not only seem to be healthier, but the food is fresh and high quality. I went with the peri peri chicken, which is a red pepper based sauce, with a lemony taste and a spicy kick over a roasted chicken breast. So good! My wife got the BBQ chicken and it was just a flavorful. A special shout out to their sweet potato fries that were perfectly seasoned with a nice crunch. Other places will have soggy fries but they were amazing here. The other side options are pretty healthy, as I got roasted butternut squash and a home style mac and cheese. Also, my kids loved the burgers. This spot definitely gives higher end restaurant style menu with the convenience of quick walk-in dining. An awesome choice if you are in the Brea area.

En Fuego Burger & Roasted Brussels Sprouts

I've been wondering when they were going to replace Rubio's once they closed for good. Took a while but I was glad that Bushfire Kitchen finally opened up. The restaurants in this strip mall area are all very subpar so I had little to no expectations for this spot. Here's what I have tried: **American Burger: It's a solid traditional burger with bacon. I've had a bite of it cooked medium both times and they have been spot on. (5/5) **En Fuego Burger: I almost always order medium rare for my burgers and that's exactly what I did for both visits. The burger itself is very tasty but disappointed with the spice. I've read several reviews stating that this burger has a nice kick to it but sadly, it doesn't. However, the housemade jalapeño aioli is quite good. I'm generally not a fan of bacon in my burgers but it works well here. (4/5) **Cage-Free Chicken Empanada: Eh, just pass on the empanadas. There isn't much filling and it's definitely not worth the price tag listed. (1/5) **Roasted Brussel Sprouts: I love that you can get a variety of items as a side and not just fries. The brussels sprouts here are delicious and have the perfect balance of flavor. (5/5) I've been here twice during their first few months of being open to test out the waters and I can't wait to be back. The prices are honestly very fair for a casual sit down burger spot with lots of customizable options. The portions are very filling. They have several drink options available including their apple maple refresher, lemonade, iced tea, and Stubborn soda products. As much as I enjoy their food, their overall customer service is quite poor. During my first visit, I could hear the girls working at the front gossiping and not paying attention to the customers. I had gone back to the counter to purchase a fountain drink but I could not get their attention even though they were standing right there. My second time there, when I arrived in line, nobody said a word. When I was leaving the restaurant, I turned around and said thank you but none of the ladies said anything or even made eye contact. You should consider retraining your employees because it doesn't look good from the customer's perspective. I would normally give 3-stars for an experience like this but everything else is good so that's the reason why I'm giving it 4-stars. This spot can easily be bumped up to a 5-star experience if the customer service was spot on.

Newest spot where Rubios use to be. They are open until 9 and you order at the counter. We had a good mix of menu offerings with the Vegan Avocado Hummus Sandwich, the Thai Curry Chicken Bowl, the BBQ Tri-Tip, En Fuego Burger, the fries, Brussels sprouts, and housemade apple maple refresher. Just an FYI, the Thai Curry Chicken Bowl is on the spicy side but very tasty. The fries were crispy, flavorful and not greasy. The sandwiches were good but on the smaller to medium size. The stand out in terms of size, ingredients, and flavor was the burger especially with the artisan bun. The bun really is a special part of the burger that really held everything together, had a nice toast, and went well with everything, especially the million something bacon which is sweet and crunchy without being dry and crackly. Skip the Brussels sprouts though, they were on the sour side, not well crisped, and lacked flavor but everything else was worth a future visit. I'm definitely coming back for the burgers. read more

There were so many items on the menu that sounded delicious. It was hard to choose, but we ended up choosing a brisket bowl with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. We also order a burger that was cooked to perfection with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries, I will be back for!! The girl that took our order was friendly and very helpful in helping us choose and she did not steer us wrong. We also ate outside with the view of the lit up christmas. They have heaters for the cold outside too which is a plus. Will be back for sure! read more

This place is our new favorite I can't wait to keep trying a new menu item every time we dine! This time I had the Thai chicken curry and was so pleasantly impressed! Very creamy spicy and tender...husband got Greek salad with tri tip and he practically licked his bowl clean! AND DON'T FORGET THE COOKIES! Lemon cooler is the BEST but all others were also yummy...I will definitely keep you posted on my next choice as they have happy hour specials DAILY from 2-5pm. Oh and did I mention how sweet and lovely all the staff are all the time! Try this place out if you haven't already! read more

It was a very pleasant first time experience. The menu has some exciting offers making us want to return to try more. Everyone was welcoming and for the first run it was very organized. Exceeded my expectations! I've been a 19 year downtown Brea local. I'm super excited for a healthy scratch kitchen concept that doesn't require a long sit down experience...especially for those busy weekday work nights where you need a healthy meal but short on time. i cant wait to return and try other items on the menu. We had the salmon bowl with brown rice and baked squash. Plus, the En Fuego Hamburger on a gluten free bread. YUMMY! No doubt this will be on my weekly dining out rotation. Lastly, it was a bonus that the staff was beyond upbeat, efficient, professional and super friendly! I really didn't want to write this review because this delicious place is going to get packed. The service is excellent. The food is clean and scrumptious. Last week I had a chicken bowl and pumpkin empanadas and today I ate the garden burger with thick sweet potato fries. The dipping sauce was fantastic. First time coming here after working a long. Very welcoming, staff and friendly. I ordered the quinoa salad to go no dressing. What I got my order it had no quinoa, no black rice and wilted salad. And mandarines that tasted sour and rotten. I threw my salad away what a waste of money overpriced for bad food. read more

Last time I go to Bushfire Kitchen--even though within walking distance. Was excited when they arrived, disappointed since. Repeated a number of times I wanted hamburger well done, after being asked if wanted medium. I said no, I wanted it well done. It was medium when I got it. That's it, I could just get McDonald's DoorDash for about same price. I miss Rubio's. read more

Recently visited Bushfire Grill, good things and not so good. If I had more options it would be a 3.5. Service was very good, fries are some of the best I have had recently. The not so good, the Gaucho Steak Sandwich . The tri tip was refrigerator level cold. The bun was hard. Not crispy, but hard. Grandma's Mac and Cheese was okay, I much prefer Chick-fil-a's. Also had a pumpkin empanada I am mixed on, the pumpkin flavor tasted good, but I tried to share it with two friends , just to each have a taste, and cutting this in 3 neither side piece has any pumpkin filling. So it's definitely a do not share treat, which is fine for the size/price but just to let you know the sides don't have much pumpkin, just the middle bite or two. Will I try again, most likely, but definitely will order something different, other than I will order the fries again. read more

To be fair, even though I didn't watch long enough to see him put fries in his mouth, the way he put his hands on the fries didn't look like he was putting back fries that may have fallen off the plate onto their plating area, he definitely was trying to pull fries deep in the pile to get one that was drenched in sauce. They have a big selection of around two dozen signature wood fired pizzas available in 10" or 14" sizes. We decided to keep it simple and share a 14" The Graduate (pepperoni, sausage, ham, red onions, roasted peppers, olives, and mozzarella ($22.75). The pizza came out timely, and is served on a raised stand. The crust had a nice thin to medium thickness and held the toppings well. It had a good amount of toppings and was delicious. This was the perfect size for two people, and we were both stuffed when it was all gone. In addition to a big list of interesting pizzas, they also have a big selection of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Our server Mikayla was very friendly, and checked on us often. The pizza, beer, and service were all great. A very filling pizza and two pints for $45 before tip is a great deal. They have a happy hour weekdays, and drink specials Monday through Thursday. Between the slow service, disappointing food, and ridiculous prices, this place feels like a tourist trap hiding in a hotel lobby. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else in Brea. Even a gas station snack run would be a better experience.

My husband and I were lucky enough to get tickets for the family and friend's preview night. Any business that invites the community in before officially opening and provides free meals is automatically a positive in my book. As soon as we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. We were provided with suggestions, both of which my husband and I ended up ordering. Everyone was SO helpful, they refilled our drinks and got us napkins and utensils. The decor and vibes were awesome. Very chill, lowkey vibes. The food was spectacular. My husband got the tri-tip plate with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The chimichurri was delicious and the tri-tip was perfection. The Mac and cheese had a kick and was the best comfort food. I got the tri-tip sandwich and just wow! The bread was light, the tri-tip was perfect, the onions were caramelized, and the chimichurri married it all together beautifully. The mashed potatoes were so yummy, I can't resist a good garlic mash. We both had the craft sodas and they were the perfect touch as we enjoyed our meals. For the finally, we enjoyed the most delicious pumpkin pie empanada. I mean pumpkin pie in empanada form... what could be better?!?! It was warm and the whipped cream was the perfect touch. I'm glad it's a seasonal option or else I'd be grabbing one every single day! All in all, Bushfire Kitchen was amazing and we will definitely be back! Just checked out the new Bushfire Kitchen location in Brea and it did not disappoint. The space is clean, modern, and feels like a great spot for a casual meal or drinks with friends. I started with an empanada and it was meaty, flavorful, and satisfying. Perfect little starter. I also tried their house made lemonade which was super refreshing, not overly sweet, and great with the food. The sangria was light and easy to drink, perfect if you want something fruity without it being too heavy. For food, I ordered the En Fuego burger and it definitely lives up to the name. Juicy, bold flavors, and just the right amount of heat. Everything tasted fresh and well put together. I also tried a chocolate chip cookie for dessert and it was warm, soft, and clearly house made. A great way to end the meal. Overall, really solid experience for a new location. Good food, good drinks, and a relaxed vibe. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu. read more

I just visited Bushfire Kitchen in Brea for their grand opening night and ordered the tri-tip bowl with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted squash to-go. The garlic mashed potatoes were the highlight, they were quite delicious. The roasted squash, however, was a bit lacking in flavor and felt a bit underseasoned. I was hoping the tri-tip would be the star of the bowl, but unfortunately, the tri-tip didn't quite meet my expectations. It came out well-done and dry, which was disappointing. Since they did not ask me about how I would like the trip-tip cooked, I made a poor assumption that it would come out with a medium cook, but that definitely was not the case. The chimichurri sauce helped a bit, but overall, the tri-tip was a total dry letdown. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I'd be open to returning to try other dishes.
