So since it's still here and was close to an event 3 of us were attending we tried this again. We ordered salmon bowls, veggie bowls and empanadas. The empanadas and the mashed potatoes were the only thing we would recommend. The salmon was so undercooked as to be inedible . The grilled veggies were basically raw with grill marks. We got there at 11:45. They open at 11:00, but it seemed like the 3 people working the front were still trying to get it together. There were only 2 people in front of us, but it took so long to even order. I really don't understand the 5 star reviews. Forget it. read more

The food and service is good but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, unless you want to feel like you're at a daycare/playground while at dinner. I LOVE empanadas, and when I found out about this place, I had to check them out. Their grass-fed beef and veggies are all delicious. But what sets them apart from the other places is their creamy chimichurri sauce, which is amazing. Their American grass-fed burger is everything I dream a burger should be. The cauliflower and BBQ chicken wings are also delicious. I love the soft drink selection. They make their own wine and beer, which I will try the next time I visit. The service was great and were very accommodating. I highly recommend this place! read more

I've had a couple of 3 star experiences here. I've been here at least 10 times since it's been open. It's always just ok. It's never that good. The staff is generally friendly. And they have a cool outdoor area and it's close and easy. So we deal with the mediocre food. But I think I'm done. Today they told me they didn't have change for our cash. Our order was $45 and I gave her a $100 bill. She said we don't have enough change. I was like "you don't have $50 in change?" She said no and then looked at me all snotty. So, fine, I didn't have my card on me and my wife paid partial card and some cash. When she opened the drawer there was plenty of cash. A stack of $20s, $10s, 5s, etc. she ended up giving me $17 in change and the only difference was like two $20s from what I requested, which she clearly had plenty of. Frustrating but whatever. Then the burger that I got was seriously bad. I ordered the American Burger. Took 20 minutes. My kids walked to Jersey Mike's across the street, ordered their sandwiches, walked back over and ate most of it before ours arrived. What I got was a dry/raw patty. Cold, dry and thick/dense bun. I took like three bites and left the rest. Really bad burger. Sorry but it was. The fries were very good. But next time I will just go to the Habit 50 yards away. I've had other stuff here. Some ok. But mostly their food is dry and the bread too dense. I've had chicken sandwiches, tri tip sandwiches, and a few other things. No mas for me. read more

This restaurant is located in a busy shopping center in La Costa. Although this shopping center always feels super busy to me - I always find parking very easily. Right when you walk in, you can see several very colorful sides (sweet potatoes, Brussel sprouts etc.) that have already been prepared. The menu is pricey. You pretty much choose what you want as you wait in line and eventually make it to the register to place your order & be given an order number to place on your table. You can then seat yourself and get your drinks at the self-service beverage counter. All in all, the service was fast & friendly and the food was fresh and absolutely delicious. They have plenty of inside & outside seating and the restaurant was very clean. The ambiance is upscale casual and I think a great place to meetup with friends. Families with kids and even a casual date would be comfortable too. Everything looked and sounded so good BUT was pretty pricey. A side of Brussel sprouts was like $8 - $9. Now, $5 I could understand because the quality is high but $8-$9 is too high in my opinion. I wasn't that hungry and was watching these huge plates of food making their way to tables. They have a kids menu that specifically says it's for Ages 10 & under, but it was the most reasonable thing on the menu for what I was prepared to eat, so I tried my luck and ordered it. The young lady at the register didn't comment and placed the order for me. I think that any ages should be able to purchase a kids item if all they want is a small meal - so I am glad they didn't give me any lip about it. I ordered the Hamburger with Brussel Sprouts as the side. We were in a large group and everyone's food came out super-fast...I'd say within 5 minutes. My food looked amazing (see pics) and tasted equally amazing! Even with the kid's meal, I only ate half. My friend said that this place had the best Sweet Potato Fries - and OH MY GAWD she was right! They are SOOO good. The portions were so big on the regular menu items. I would personally prefer smaller portions with a smaller price tag. My only complaint is that I think it's over-priced for what is essentially fast food - but as long as I can order my kids meal I'm happy LOL. If they insisted that I wasn't allowed to order off the kids menu then I certainly would have had to knock a star off but because there was a work-around - I was very happy with my experience here. read more

Just moved to the area and some new friends recommended we go have dinner at Bushfire. This place blew our minds !!!! Tri-tip sandwiches is very tender not a lot of tug and pull. Service was extremely friendly and helpful with answering all our newby questions. My kids got curry bowls and loved them. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the warm weather with a cold beer. We both had the Peri Peri chicken and found it delicious. It was a Wednesday evening when I was picking up our food and I noticed they were having a great happy hour special on drinks. Everything I have ordered here has been exceptional. And every order has been to go.. and naturally with to go orders, they aren't usually quite as good or seemingly fresh than eating right as soon as it can be served. But I have been impressed with each dish so far. Except on one occasion which I will describe first. I had ordered a kids Mac and cheese and to my surprise, it had quite the kick if that is what they are serving to children. I didn't taste it first because you wouldn't think there would be such spice, or any spice, so my daughter started eating and then quickly spitting out the food, saying it was too spicy. I didn't believe her until I looked in her bowl and saw what appeared to be a bunch of red pepper flakes or paprika, not really sure but I tasted it, did not let her eat it and definitely not ordering that again. It was spicy! And I was a pretty upset about this and not to mention my young daughter is practically traumatized from this. Instead of calling to complain, I chalked it up to a bad batch and will maybe one day revisit the Mac and cheese. Aside from this incident, I have tried the bowls with short ribs being my favorite! Pair with garlic mashed and Brussels sprouts.. yes please! The salmon bowl was ok, a small piece of salmon in my opinion. The empanadas are the best! Flaky, crispy and so flavorful. And I also highly recommend the chocolate chip cookies.. I can't speak for customer service or anything since I have never actually set one foot inside the restaurant. But I do know this is a place that has become one of my favorites to order from. read more

I found this place last year through an amazing yelp event and I've been meaning to come back forever. The perfect opportunity finally presented itself. My parents were in town visiting and I wanted to take them out. So, where to go? Bushfire! My mom adheres to a gluten free diet and my dad isn't adventurous with food at all. After looking at their menu, I decided everyone could eat here. I ordered the tri-tip with macaroni and cheese plus their California Caesar salad. I also ordered their lavendar hibiscus lemonade. My mom ordered the rotisserie chicken breast and wing but they were out of it. So, they grilled up some chicken. She also ordered greek salad and butternut squash. My dad settled for the ribs, since they were out of rotisserie chicken. He asked them to brush it lightly with sauce (and they did). I've had their ribs before and they are delicious. He also ordered rice and butternut squash. All dishes came with focaccia bread. Oh, and yes...tons of local beer on tap. Last time I was here, I did imbibe but not this time. They have several gluten-free dessert options too. Long story short...I love this place. Local sources for food, organic, all homemade and flavorful. Portions are the perfect size. You'll be content from your dinner but still have room for dessert...right down the block at either Baked Bear or SusieCakes. I'll be back! read more

Came here for lunch because the cafeteria in our office was closed by the time I was done with my work and meetings. Their roasted chicken is delectable and went perfectly with the strawberry spinach salad and a side of lemonade. I knew I liked this place because I went to the Yelp event here months ago. It was on my list to try it out on my own time. I've been to the Bushfire Grill up in Temecula, their sister restaurant. The food is what brings me back every time, but I didn't expect such great service as well. I had someone checking on me and offering to refill my lemonade for me so that I didn't have to get up. I was pretty impressed. Price can be a bit overpriced for some people, but for free range chicken, I'd pay anything for good, healthy, farm fresh food. read more

Please!!! Please expand these higher up. I was down in the area for just the weekend and discovered you though yelp delivery Saturday night. This place was not only decently priced but the food was fantastic. From the moment you take off the lid and get the aroma of the food you are about to have, to actually enjoying it, you will have a nice experience. As someone with a friend who has a gluten allergy, I was happy to tell her of a restaurant where she would be able to order what seems like over 80% of the many items. lastly, if you can, add the macadamia nut cookie for dessert. Called in my order and got there to pay, they told me it was just a couple minutes (which is totally fine). Sat and waited there for about 15 mins (I was the only one in there) and went up to ask, for them to tell me it was four feet behind me... bad customer service, they didn't tell me that there was a hidden shelf where all the food was suppose to be, it blends right into the wall. You would think that a decent person would remember that I was the ONLY one waiting for food and I was sitting right in front of the cash register. It's hard to believe there's still good people in customer service facing jobs... Gluten free bun is the weirdest gluten free bread/sandwich topper I've ever had. Really like this newish restaurant here in the La Costa area. Many of their items are ready along the buffet line, but some need to be prepared after they're ordered. They offer naturally nutritious food many of which are gluten free and organic when possible. Food items may cost a bit more than your average quick bite, but this isn't really your average quick bite here either. I ordered the Chipotle Braised Short Ribs which was kind of like a stew served with grilled veggies over mashed potatoes. Each and every bite was delicious. The flavors really worked well together. I only wish it was a larger serving. My wife ordered the Veggie Delight sandwich. Grilled veggies served with humus on focaccia bread. Really good as well. She also had a side spinach and strawberry salad. The cheese added a nice kick to each bite. We've been here a couple times previously, once with the family and the other during a Yelp event. Both times, and then now, the service was great, friendly and welcoming. If we needed anything, someone was there to help out. The fresh rotisserie chicken (breast and wing) with side (mashed potatoes) and their homemade spicy sauce are my go to favorites. I am one of those people that once I discover my go to dish...I keep going back for more! I am also a fan of their Pinot Noir by the glass (don't ever change it)! The patio is pet friendly and we brought our little fur guy with us! My only hesitation is that it can be very busy (which is good for business) and large families eat here (to have a healthy meal they don't have to prepare).
