There was a lot of hype for the opening of this restaurant & we were pretty disappointed. My wife ordered the Sangria, but they were out of it & it was only 5. The girls taking the orders didn't seem to know too much as we asked them what they recommended & the girl said she was new & didn't know. When we sent to sit down the tables were dirty as well. I tried the Tri tip sandwich & it was mainly bread with little meat soaked in BBQ sauce. There was no crunch to the bread at all. We were excited to try this place, but it was not good. I was really excited for this place. Went here shortly after opening with 2 other people. We were all very underwhelmed and thought the food was just ok at best. Burger was supposed to be med/well and was very raw, chicken quesadilla came without chicken and needed to be fixed and the Mac and cheese (which sounded delish) was like mush. Very overcooked and no one ate it. Empanada was decent and fries were ok. Some other dishes i saw people eating around me looked decent so wanted to try again and was hoping to order something else with better luck. After going back a second time I have concluded that my original assumption is correct. It's just ok. Teriyaki Bowl was a small portion and was lacking flavor and veggies/ rice were overcooked. Salad was decent and prob the best of everything I've had but dressing just tasted like oil, no flavor either. Also huge seating issue. The seats are so so crammed together that if the place is full (which it has been both times I've gone) there is no room to walk in between tables with pulled out chairs so people are having to constantly move your chair in so others can get by. Hard to enjoy a conversation when you keep having to scoot. I like the concept but not sure I'd go back again unless it's for a beer and empanadas. So excited to a stop in local. We were greeted by the sweetest girl at the register who was helpful in deciphering what to eat. I ended up with a chicken empanada which was one of the best ive had chicken was moist so much flavor in every bite. I got a side of mash potatoes made with real potatoes and the perfect amount of garlic. My Daughter got a Salmon Crunch bowl which was full of flavor; a side of brussels that were easily the best ive had. My nephew got a kid meal that had these homemade chicken tenders that we are all still talking about. Would you pay $15 for a cold, overcooked burger? Unfortunately I did. Asked for medium, burger came out very well done and it must've sat for a while before being served. All the ingredients and aesthetics were there (byom bring your own mustard). House beer and fries were excellent. No one came by to check on me (I did tip) which is absolutely crucial with a new opening. I've worked in various restaurants throughout my life and I know what goes on behind the scenes. I visited the new Rancho Bernardo location on 5/12 with my son and ended up biting down on a piece of metal in my mac & cheese!!!! I showed an employee who brought the metal back into the kitchen. Several minutes later the manager finally came over to the table and asked if I wanted anything else to replace the mac & cheese and that the meal was on them. I declined since I didn't feel like eating anything else from there at that point. He left and came back with a $10 coupon and never refunded our meal. The prices are pretty high too. Two drinks and two meals cost me $67 (with tip). I'm not sure I'll be going back there. read more

Great new restaurant in town! Everyone is so nice but the food is amazing. The All American Burger is so good with lots of bacon and avocado on top. You must try the Sweet Potato Fries. Crispy and just the right amount of seasoning. They have a Peri Peri Mayo is like nothing I have ever had. Alex came over and chatted a bit. It has a high class feel, but not pretentious. We went for a late lunch a few days ago. I got the turkey club and my friend got a bowl. It's a tad pricey for a sandwich but they were delicious. I do have a suggestion tho. Perhaps a few chips or a large pickle to accompany the sandwiches. It look kinda naked on the plate with no small side. We were often asked how we were doing which was appreciated. So, with good reviews already in hand, we were pretty confident that the food would be good, and we weren't disappointed. In fact, the burgers were great, the tri-tip was good; maybe a little bland, and all of the sides were very good as well. The concept is pretty interesting -- very good food but a counter order experience. Prices were on par for that and hopefully they don't go way up after they're more established. My only bone to pick is that I think they try to crowd too many seats in a pretty small area inside. I get it; it's gonna be crowded during the grand opening but I just think the seating density is a little too high and kills the vibe a bit. But overall, a great experience, especially in RB which is just languishing for a place like this that checks all the boxes. Will be back for more. read more
