I bought a bracelet here for $580. Three months later, I came back to sell it and exchange it for this pair of earrings. The owner bought back the bracelet for $400 and sold me the earrings for $300. They didn't give me a sales receipt, and when I asked for one, they said it wasn't necessary. Today, I came back to sell the earrings, but they refused to buy them back, claiming it was because I didn't have a receipt. Why didn't they issue me a receipt in the first place? If they're really selling genuine gold, why won't they buy it back from their customers?

I bought a jade pendant many years ago and decided it was time to purchase a new pendant, a Guan Yin pendant to be precise. I would stroll by jewelers in Grand Century and leave empty handed all the time. I just couldn't justify paying so much for a pendant lol. But after visiting and looking at so many recently I decided to purchase one and this time, it was with Ky Tran Jewelry! This jewelry store is one of many at Grand Century. They've got security guards with their eyes on you at all times. It is owned by a lovely elderly couple who is friendly and not pushy at all. They're also certified through the Gemological Institute of America (see photo attached)! They carry a huge array of jade, gold, silver, and some diamonds. I walked-in and was offered a seat. There I was for the next 1.5 hours looking at which jade to purchase. The woman who assisted me was very friendly and extremely patient. No hard sell, nothing, just a good conversation. I narrowed my choices to 2 and even then I had a hard time choosing. I even brought my own mini flashlight to verify the authenticity of the jade too lol. After finally picking what I wanted I headed over to the gold. I thought about purchasing a chain but after finding out it was 3k, I thought to myself pass.... Lol. Anywho, this review could have been shorter, but I'm happily typing lol. I paid and the lady wrote up a receipt. She cleaned my gem and prepped it a cute tiny box. I left really happy. There are many jewelry stalls there so I went around to 3 of them to see where I could get the best price for my pieces. Credit Jewelers was the one I chose for a number of reasons. Not only did they offer me the highest price for my gold, but the young lady who helped me was very knowledgeable and helpful. I did not feel like they were trying to undercut me. I was very happy with the transaction and actually ended up purchasing some new gold earrings from them. Their selection of jewelry is gorgeous and their prices are very very reasonable. I will definitely be back not only to sell my scrap gold, but for new jewelry. I highly recommend Credit Jewelers. I left feeling that I had been treated with integrity and honesty.

A friend recommended that I go to Tony to set a new loose diamond into the engagement ring my husband (then fiancé) proposed to me with. Since our style had evolved during our two-year engagement, we decided to update the ring- switching from gold prongs to white gold and adding a hidden halo. We trusted Tony to handle both the new diamond and the updated setting at the same time. I did receive my ring later than the originally agreed timeline, but at the time, I didn't think much of it and assumed everything was fine. However, when I later brought my ring to a reputable jeweler in the Bay Area for an appraisal, they examined it under magnification and pointed out multiple issues. The basket and prongs were poorly constructed, the diamonds were improperly set, and there were visible cracks throughout the setting- issues that were clearly not caused by normal wear and tear. I contacted Tony shortly after to address these concerns, and he asked me to bring the ring back for him to inspect. At that point, however, I had already lost confidence and did not feel comfortable returning, given the time, money, and trust I had already invested. The photos speak for themselves- this level of workmanship was extremely disappointing, especially for something as meaningful as an engagement ring.
