    Schnitzel
    Alyssa L.

Went for a quick bite by myself while starving in town on a Wednesday night. Sat at the bar and got the tasty tangy Syrocco (Syrah from Morocco), along with the cabbage, artichokes, and schnitzel. Was pleasantly surprised! The artichokes were delectable and perfectly zingy with way the labneh. The 700° cabbage was so tender i didn't even need a knife it wad crazy. So delicious. The chicken schnitzel and whatever red butter with a kick it comes with was phenomenal, crispy, and thin. As it should be! Will be back.

Very solid. Enjoyed the 700 degree cabbage and the Moroccan fish. My friend ordered the Sea bream which bi didn't have but looked amazing. I even found a nice wine on the per glass menu, an Albarino. Id definitely come back.

This restaurant has been on my list to try for a while, and finally came here with a friend for dinner. I fell in love with the elegant decor of this place, filled with light, flowers, cool artwork, accents of wood, along with a yellow, red and blue color scheme. There was a beautiful garden back area that was enclosed. The whole space was lovely with plenty of room and there was a warm, comfortable ambiance throughout. My friend and I shared the Greek Salad, Zaatar Fries, Taboon Bread as well as whole Dorade Fish with potatoes and watercress salad. The Greek Salad consisted of cucumber, tomato, red onion, and feta cheese with seasoning and olive oil dressing. This was fresh, crunchy, with a bit of acidity. The Zaatar Fries were perfectly crispy, and sprinkled with flavorful spices. The Taboon Bread was served warm from the oven. It was soft and tasty. Whole Dorade Fish was a sight to behold! Fried to perfection, delightfully tender, flaky, and well seasoned. The roasted potatoes were satisfyingly charred and full of flavor. I'm not a fan of watercress, so didn't care much for the salad. Even though I was quite full, I couldn't resist ordering the Silan (shredded halva) Sundae dessert with milk gelato. This also came with rice crispy brittle, caramel sauce and caramelized pistachios. This was light, creamy, just the right amount of sweetness and oh so delicious! I particularly enjoyed the Halva, which was sesame-y and wonderful. All the ingredients worked well together. Service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knew the menu well. We were well taken care of throughout our meal. I would return to try the Moroccan Fish or Kebab Halabi.

Had a great Sunday brunch here! The garden in back is very nice and the service was great. The highlights were the feta, pita bread, and most importantly, the lamb arayes!

Great restaurant! We had the spicy feta and taboon bread, burrata, cabbage, and the chicken. The spicy feta dip was delicious and not too spicy. The taboon bread was fluffy and delicious. The burrata with the beets was great and I loved the artichoke chips. The cabbage was charred and soft. Loved the combination of all the ingredients. The chicken was delicious and had a nice spice flavor. The Cabernet was a nice wine. Also enjoyed the Syrah as well. Our server Lewis was very knowledgeable and was very nice. Would definitely go back for the food, great service and cool ambiance.

2nd visit here...Small but well executed menu...for apps defintely get the hummus and zataar pita (comes separate), for ghe mains get the schnitzel or moroccan fish tagine...For dessert you must get the salin which was ice cream with halva and was amazing.

There a number of good Israeli restaurants in NYC. Laser Wolf is perhaps the best known. Bustan is among the best, and the best value. The chicken mushakan was particularly memorable. And the standard dishes, such as humus, were all as good as anywhere in the City. We will be back

It was good for maybe the first 3 or 4, so perhaps better ordered for larger groups. Shepherd Salad (APP, 4/5) - Fresh, bright(as in vinegar), and herbaceous, we added feta cheese to it and it was perfect balance to our entree. Kofte Kebab (MAIN, 4/5) - Not too dry with packed flavor of all the herbs & beef, I really enjoyed my dish. Went great with all the other accouterments such as slightly cinged wedge of tomato and onion slices, all frolicking on a bed of warm rice that had a nice bite. Adana Kebap (MAIN, 4/5) - My colleague had this one, and I tried a piece. It was juicy and had no hint of gaminess which is always a plus for lamb. 3. Service (3/5) - This being a mom & pop store, I think they're short on staff. Usually they're all in the back cooking, so you do need to be a bit patient to flag someone down. The restaurant has an interesting history. Even though the original opened in Cresskill, NJ, it unfortunately has permanently closed. However, not only is the Edgewater location amazing, but it had the guts to open during COVID (2022), survived, and is succeeding. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. Their decorations are tasteful, the presentation of the food is award winning, and the service is stellar. I started with a Mocha Cappuccino and it was so good. Served in a large mug, an airy/creamy top, and had the perfect amount of mocha happiness throughout. Before the meal even started, we were graciously given Za'atar (a popular Middle Eastern spice blend with an earthy, tangy, and nutty flavor, toasted sesame seeds, and sumac, with salt). It was crunchy, drizzled with oil, and I enjoyed how each thin pita bite made the spices explode all over the table. The entrees were: Strawberry French Toast. The next was the Falafel Platter (chickpeas and fava bean balls, served with tahini sauce, pickles, turnips, tomato, and mint). The last selection was the Avocado Toast (Citrus cured salmon over multigrain bread, tomatoes, onions, capers & citrus vinaigrette). Not only were all of these dishes beautifully presented, but all were filling, as well. My Avocado Toast kept me full for the rest of the day and the salmon was enjoyably salty, thin, and delicious. I noticed a dessert in their display case and ordered it. The dessert was the Riz Bil Ashta (Lebanese rice cream, infused with orange blossom water, blended with milk and cheese, and topped with crushed pistachios). This dessert tasted like a regal custard and the pistachios added an enjoyable texture that makes it recommended. Of course, I had to cap the meal with a Mocchiato. This amazing beverage followed the rest of the meal..... delicious, eyes closed good, and every sip was full-flavored. Thank you, Madison Café and Grill, for presenting a memorable meal and I wish you continued success.

I consulted Yelp Assistant for vegan options in the area, and up popped Miriam with a plethora of Mediterranean small plates and I was sold. Since it was a Friday evening, I knew I was taking a chance without a reservation and the place was pretty packed, but there was a small table on the patio available. Since it was a chilly night, the cover was up and I'm sure it's more atmospheric (to match the cute interior) in more agreeable weather, but no matter here because once I tasted that hummus and warm, fresh pita, I really could've been sitting on a curb for all I cared. There's a lot of good hummus to be had in this world, and Miriam's ranks as one of the best I've had. Service was perfection and their wines by the glass are wonderful. I was a bit bummed that I had to make it a quick visit, but I expect that if and when I'm back in this part of town, I will gladly return.

It went well with the Fattoush Salad (that came with the Mixed Platter). We were 3 people this time and the Mixed Platter for 2 was plenty of food along with all the appetizers we got. The Iced Mint Lemonade could have a bit more mint and less sugar but I found it sweet and refreshing. Would never order again. We also got the mixed meats which came with kafta, lamb, chicken a few pieces of each, and also this was so sad, the pieces were SO small. And we also got this Fattat Jaj (which is a 6 layer dish with chicken, rice chickpeas). Honestly all of the mains were such a disappointment. Full of rice, not a lot of meat in any of the dishes. Especially the Fattat Jaj, which literally was just rice with a bunch of small crispy pita bread, barely had any chicken.
