    Philly Chicken Sandwich
    Adiba O.

Amazing and flavorful food, service was so kind and friendly, and lots of seating for people to enjoy in a clean cafe environment. The cheesesteak is delicious and the sauces go so well with the flavors! The chicken shawarma was soft and juicy. A must visit when in Houston, especially if you are shopping in the Hillcroft area!

    Chicken Shawarma Wrap (Combo) $14.07

I'm usually not in the is part of town, but I always try to get some good Middle Eastern or Indian food since there are so many great options over here. Busy Boy popped up in my Yelp app and had great reviews. The ambiance is sparse, it has the charm of a McDonalds from the 1980s. Strike one right out of the gate: Pepsi products and most of two of them were out. Ice tea was not brewed; it was the one that tastes straight up like chemicals that comes out of the machine. I went with the shawarma wrap combo. Fries were okay, but over seasoned. The shawarma had a decent amount of meat, but had a fishy taste to it. This was definitely a waste of a shawarma in this part of town since there are always so many great options over there. If you insist on coming here, the guy at the next table ordered the shawarma platter and looked way better. Will I go back? Not highly likely, gonna try one of the other highly rated or friend recommended ones this side of town. After 13 years of using Yelp, it failed me only for the third time.

Thanks to Vinh's reminder on the timing of my visit to Busy Boy Grill and Cafe. I was here during Ramadan in a Saturday's early afternoon. Don't laugh. I have never had Shawarma in my life. Count my blessings to try this Middle Eastern food for the first time. Many people already have their own favorite shawarma restaurants. I'm really a rookie when I saw the big chunk of meat on the vertical turning rotisserie oven. In Mexico, this rotisserie meat cooking method is called al pastor. But at Busy Boy... Someone please tell me the difference between gyro and shawarma. Because I was hungry. A line employee couldn't answer my question. So, I waited for the cashier. Not sure if I pronounced gyro right. But he said gyro is the meat from the kitchen while shawarma meat is from the vertical turning oven in the front. Sounds good. Time to eat. So, I ordered a shawarma wrap with both beef and chicken. He upgraded my order to meal deal for $3.50 more. I got a bottomless drink and a potato salad. Meat was tender but a little salty for my taste bud. The wrap and veggies were fresh. I had no more room for salad at that point. I really wanted to try the ice cream next door, or just across the hall. But it appeared to be closed. The best part was the clean restaurant and flexible seating. Looks like I could have a party here.

You've got to try the crispy chicken sandwich. This is the best chicken sandwich in Houston. The sauce is soooo good and the chicken is crispy On top of the food, the service is amazing. The owner once helped my sister and I on the phone while we were lost to get to the location and then made us new, hot sandwiches because we got lost. That sort of service does not come around often and we will keep coming back!

Every part of the philly sandwich tasted fresh and delicious! The portion was also pretty big so I had it for lunch and dinner :) I also tried their crispy chicken sandwich which was also delicious and not like your average crispy chicken sandwiches. I would highly recommend asking for some sides of their garlic sauce and especially trying it with their fries

My wife and I loved everything we tried. The mixed shawarma plate with beef and chicken was great, she picked Greek salad and taboli as her 2 sides, both tasty. I enjoyed and barely shared a kufta kabob wrap, I barely shared 'cause she had more than she could eat. We went back to the counter and scored a couple topnotch coffee drinks. She got and loved a dark chocolate frape with no whipped cream on top, I had to try the cheese cake milk shake, loved it. Mine was sweeter than hers and disappeared first, both were definitely worth getting again. Friendly counter service and great food....we'll be back.

The perfect spot for a casual lunch! Clean place, plenty of seating, great service, delicious food! I tried the crispy chicken wrap and my mom ordered the grilled chicken panini. Both were fresh and sooo good! I was so excited to try it, I almost forgot to take pics of the food! Everything is halal too.

Stumbled across this place by accident. To my surprise it was definitely no coincidence. I love great food and great service and I found those things plus more here. Very accommodating, extremely friendly staff, very attentive, the food was amazing, nice and clean, and very spacious! The food was so good I forgot to take pictures except towards the end. Recommended spot!

What we ordered: - Beef Ribs - Glazed Pork Ribs - Sausage Link: regular and cheddar - Brisket (sliced) - Bacon Mac & Cheese - Potato Salad - Duck and Sausage Jambalaya - Peach Cobaker - Banana Pudding over all Review of the whole place, 10/10. Line was organized and had available water for the heat. Servers out to offer beer and water and to pass out menus and explain the process of how this place works. Servers inside were constantly cleaning tables and available to get to go boxes and lids if needed. The meat was literally fall off the bone tender and juicy. Everything was Smokey and flavored wonderfully. My number one: the Mac and cheese! I dont know something about an amazing side took me away. Most places can't do a mac the way i like it, but the cheese stayed moist and creamy and the noodles were tender. the flavor was phenomenal. all of the meats were tender and fall off the bone and juicy. I have no complaints About any bite I took! Other than maybe taking too many bites XD. Would absolutely recommend if your visiting the area or live near by, go get some excellent barbecue.

They had run out of beef ribs, so we ended up getting the pork chop instead, and it was really good! The mac and cheese with bacon was rich, cheesy, and delicious. The potato salad was a huge surprise, I'm usually not a potato salad person, but this one was a solid 10/10. The only thing I wouldn't recommend was this French-style side (it looked like a giant turd ). It was a 0/10 for me. I took one bite and couldn't eat the rest. The peach cobbler was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really wow me compared to everything else. Overall, the food was incredible, especially the brisket. I'll definitely be coming back. 10/10, highly recommend!

One thing we really appreciated was the toppings bar, which included pickles, onions, pickled onions, jalapeños, and two different barbecue sauces so you could customize each bite. They even had a mini soft-serve ice cream machine for a little dessert after your meal, which was a nice touch. They also offer family meal options, making it a great choice for larger groups. This is a nicely sized spot next to the Jusgo plaza in Houston Chinatown, so plenty of parking and also food options. It's tucked in a corner but should not be written off. We were provided menus and started ordering everything that sounded good (within reason for 2, sorta). We ended up getting the Uyghur polo with lamb shank, Uyghur goshnaan, korma chop, garlic cucumbers, mint tea, and a yogurt for dessert. This was more than enough food for 2 but I wanted to try a bunch and this is me holding back. The Uyghur goshnaan was very crispy and the filling was flavorful and juicy, good lamb flavor and nice spices. The Uyghur polo with lamb shank was great and the pilaf had a nice sweetness with raisins that cut through some of the fatty richness of the lamb. The korma chop was also super flavorful with a nice savory sauce and noodled with an excellent texture, very QQ. I don't usually order cucumbers at Asian restaurants cause I can make a cucumber salad pretty easily at home but the one here was very good. Excellent refreshing crunch and garlic flavor to go with all the other dishes. The mint tea was also nice to wash down the mountains of food I was inhaling. I also enjoyed the yogurt, it's a thicker yogurt like a Greek yogurt and topped with honey and raisins. Again, a nice sweet/tart treat that didn't feel too heavy after everything else. I definitely need to come back as I didn't even get my big plate chicken but it'll be hard to choose between all the options. I def recommend this spot, esp if you like lamb as all the dishes we had were excellent and priced fairly for the portion and current economic situation.
