Breaking fast review I'll do, for dinner was too full for our purview. So we sat and ate before it got too too late. The eggs were good, the home fries too, the sausages sweet as honey dew. Our server Lynn, pouring coffee for two, had us feeling right at home while we drank the brew. We were early so the crowd was scarce and few as we enjoyed our stay and the breakfast view. Mount Mansfield in the distance seemed to be call 'you-who,' we knew we would be slipping and sliding down the slopes with no further ado.

What a slice of Heaven this place is. Popular wedding destination and I can see why! Immaculate super friendly people work here. Located in the middle of picturescue Vermont mountains. Comes with fire places, swimming pool, views and delicious menu.

Probably more like 3.5 but the service and scenery was amazing so I will bump it up. Service was very good. We had a large group with kids and they were very nice throughout our meal and very attentive. The property where the restaurant is was gorgeous. Very beautiful views. Nice outdoor eating area. Food was good. Nice selection but didn't blow me away. The scallops were well cool but overwhelmed by the dish. The fried cauliflower was really good. They were out of quite a few of the dishes on the menu bc they were between menus.

wow Wow WOW. BEST MEAL IN STOWE. I waited to write my reviews until the end of our trip so I could appropriately compare. Flannel was hands down the best meal of the weekend. First of all, the cheese...THE CHEESE!!! De-li-cious. Hopefully you can see the picture - the mountain ash and crottina were phenomenal. Couldn't get enough. There's also a pasta dish on the appetizer menu. You HAVE to try it!! Was holy cow incredible. As in I think I scared the busboy by yelling "NOOOO!" when he tried to clear my plate before I had sopped up every last bit of the sauce. We sat outside which had its own charm. Fire pit to our right, fire feature and the mountains straight ahead, and as an added bonus a wedding nearby filled the air with awesome wedding band tunes. Nearby Roost was almost totally empty - but I have to bet the food could be on par if Flannel is booked. Can't WAIT for an opportunity to go back!

A bit pricey but yum food. Brussels sprouts are good. Kale salad has strange dressing but i asked for oil and vinegar so it worked out. The best bread!! And the baked vermont for dessert was good

Warm Rosemary garlic bread and olive oil

Vegan options!!!!!!! I got their butternut squash bisque, the squash and kale salad, and a side of the most DELICIOUS shiitake mushroom quinoa salad with pomegranate seeds in it that was part of their special of the night. Also their rosemary garlic bread is AMAZING they even brought me oil to dip it in. My waitress was extremely helpful and accommodating and also informed me that all of the salads except for the Caesar were vegan. You can also veganize the vegetable risotto by asking for it without cheese and you can also also veganize the tuna dish! This place would have gotten 5 stars if they had a dessert option besides sorbet but overall this was awesome.

Every bit of food was prepared just right. We did eat a pineapple salad that was so fresh and crisp and not overly dressed, which was on the Specials menu. I also ate the Halibut for my main course, which was also on the Specials menu. This was nicely done as well. My wife ate the pork tenderloin, from the regular menu, and it was delicious. The coup de grâce was the dessert. The ice cream of the day, which was an maple gingersnap flavor was outstanding, and carrot cake was hands down the best I have had in my life! The service was good, fast and efficient. If you are looking for a very good, but not inexpensive meal, we would absolutely recommend Harrison's.

Con - none of the 4 of us even liked our meals - they were inedible. We descended the narrow steep staircase into the dark dining room; outdoor seating was not open. The waitress promptly brought us menus and waters. There was a good variety of wines and we settled on the Sancerre. Charging for bread is not a good trend so $10 for 4 Parker House Rolls was disappointing. We also ordered the mussels and asiago fries. The chef seems to favor creamy white wine sauces - the added cream adds a heavy taste without adding flavor. The shrimp & sausage on mushroom ravioli had the cream sauce and cubes of sausage. The pasta primavera also had the cream sauce. It was super bland. We added chicken (see the photo of the chicken breast added to the top side of the dish not cooked in the dish). The salmon and its corresponding carrots were spiced with bebere which is very mild but not particularly enjoyable. And finally, the grilled rib-eye was bad, really bad. It was gelatinous and the worst steak we've ever had. I've only ever seen a steak cooked like this when it's cooked at too low a heat. We fed the leftover steak, chicken, and salmon to the dog.

The poutine was very good, but I'll grant you that it's maybe hard to get that wrong - but their gravy is on point! Service was great - got there around 5:40pm on a Wednesday, so the wait was non-existent and a table for 5 was easy to accommodate. Duncan was the server, who disclosed that he was new but you wouldn't know it from how he took orders and brought food out. Even threw him a curve by asking for the steak frites with an additional side of brussel sprouts, which he handled no problem - even though there weren't any sides I saw on the menu. Steak was medium rare and perfectly seasoned, and I think I mentioned the chimichurri but it deserves additional mention. Maybe you're wondering about beverages. The maple lemonade is great - it leans harder on the tart side and there are sweeter options around (Cliff House) but I love a lemonade that tastes... lemony. Pineapple cherry punch was also a hit - but that's secondhand hearsay, unlike my direct opinion on the chimichurri - which I would drink if I could. Definitely check this place out. The table near ours seemed to immensely enjoy their meal and also get great service from Duncan.

They use the Yelp waitlist, but I couldn't join it until we showed up to the restaurant, which was a little confusing. We ended up sitting at the counter by the wood fire, which was neat to watch. Our server (Jenn) was awesome. My drink was very pricy ($18), but it was pretty tasty. Everything was absolutely delicious - we got a Mac & cheese and 2 burgers with fries. I love that it's all farm-to-table. Would absolutely eat here again and *highly* recommend it.

A Masterclass in Deception. Do Not Be Fooled by the 4.5 Stars…read more My wife and I came here expecting a special dinner based on glowing reviews. What we got was a textbook tourist trap with a view. Yes, the setting is gorgeous. Vermont mountains in the distance, open-air ambiance, cozy lighting. But once the food hits the table, the charm dies fast. I ordered the grilled chicken. What arrived was three thin slices of poultry on a puddle of sauce, garnished with a few microgreens. It looked more like a sample than a $44 entrée. My wife's "Gnudi" was overpowered by a bitter green sauce, rubbery in texture, and she couldn't finish it. I ended up eating both meals just to feel like I had dinner, but left still hungry. We ended up grabbing pizza afterward because we felt completely ripped off. The bill? $80 before tip. For what amounts to two appetizers. No drinks, no dessert, no extras. To add insult to injury: they charge you $25 per person if you cancel a reservation. That should have been our first red flag. This restaurant survives off its view and inflated reputation. The food is nowhere near the quality or portion size you'd expect at this price point. The 4.5-star rating is wildly misleading and risks conning more travelers like us. We left upset, unsatisfied, and shocked that this place gets away with calling itself fine dining. Save your money and your evening. Go somewhere that cares more about the plate than the patio.
