A must try. Been coming to port A for years and just now learning about this place. I loved it. The food was real good and the dessert options were even better. They have sea food and Other non marine foods like spaghetti, and enchiladas. The enchiladas were ok but the other options were tasty. The price was even better. The service was very good, drinks always full, the waiter even brought me butter for my rolls. My wife, daughter and I sat in a booth, this offered us a bit of privacy and made for a cozy feel. The food was pretty good, good variety-of entrees, veggies, rolls, salads and deserts. The area was well kept. The bill came to about $48 for three adults this included drinks, not cheap, but reasonable. We will definitely go back. read more

Now on to the food....my husband had his heart set on the fried chicken. It did not disappoint...4pcs later, he was stuffed plus the amazing sides. I ventured off and tried a little bit of everything....the fried pork chop, macaroni and cheese, cheese enchilada (my fave), Spanish rice, spaghetti, the best fried okra I've ever eaten, and another cheese enchilada. $50 for 3 of us...we were so full, we didn't have to worry about dinner/supper! This was the best lunch that I've had since I got here. I love Butter Churn Restaurant food. It's regular American fare, but there's so much flavor in even the simplest choice like mac and cheese or mashed potatoes. The first time I ate at Butter Churn was in Sinton Texas. But now this Aransas Pass restaurant is just 15 minutes away from my house. I ate two plates for lunch with peach cobbler and unsweetened tea.
