Watch out for the waitress named BRANDY. I've been to Buttered Buns on a number of occasions. Normally, a very pleasant experience. However, on my Most recent trip. We had the misfortune of getting Brandy as our waitress. Our food came out in bits, and pieces. Some food lagging way behind the rest. After I had completely finished my three eggs. I made the mistake of politely asking Brandy if my toast was coming. She snapped at me so loud. Two other tables commented on her poor taste, and rude remarks. When she finally brought my toast. My food was gone. Along with everyone else's in my group. I told her to take it back. As I no longer needed it. And, considering the fact, I was paying $1.75 to be humiliated in the middle of Buttered Buns by my crabby, piss poor waitress, Brandy. Ladies and Gentlemen, Buttered Buns is worth a shot. My buns were so buttered and delicious. Service was other worldly and very gracious praise the Shepard. Size portions of food were montazumul sized and very worth the hard pennies earned. Then they got angry and I could hear a lady throwing a fit in background when I called them back (this was a takeout order) blamed me as if it was my fault they made bad food. I probably wouldn't have tried this restaurant if it weren't for their Restaurant.com offer. I'd noticed it while passing through Miami but am not usually in the area for breakfast. Until my visit, I thought this was primarily a breakfast cafe, but after dining there and reading others' reviews, I see that they are recommended for lunch and dinner also. Our breakfast visit was honestly a delight. While it is an authentic breakfast joint and lacks the cheesy chain atmosphere, it doesn't feel too "down home" for outsiders to be uncomfortable dining here. The small cozy space was filled with a big variety of patrons and the team of servers seemed quick and well-seasoned. The food was basic stuff, but truly great. I went for the Cyclops hotcake and it was enormous with great flavor and a perfectly cooked egg in its center. I had to share the hotcake part with my husband because it was so large, and I'm not a small eater myself. I went for a la carte sausage patties that were much better than average. My husband really liked his breakfast burrito and hash browns. We would definitely return. TIP: I see a few photos of their menu shared here that are outdated, as of my visit in November 2016. We ordered 2 dozen biscuits and sausage gravy. I gave the lady $40. It's my moms 51st birthday, she's in a wheelchair and not well enough to leave her home. I came from FL and other family from out of town. They were rude about the order. And didn't put sausage in the gravy. Crumbled a few pieces on the top of it though ?thank you I guess? I called the place back and the manager said she made it herself....then she left my grandmother on hold because my grandmother called, feeling terrible as she recommended the place....awful females running the place....Here's the photos. Miami, OK, needs a restaurant for people who want to eat food that is good for you -- in an environment that does NOT have (1) Fox News on a television, (2) four teens sitting in a booth with a screaming child who is occasionally tended to by her mom ... a waitress, (3) a cook who waddles through the dining area on his way to the men's room with an apron so filthy my gag mechanism engaged, and (4) customers who all look like they are battling obesity or a substance abuse problem. The food was unspectacular and there were very few healthful choices. You'd think there would be at least a great salad or some fresh, not canned, vegetables. To his credit, my waiter was friendly and prompt ... but, seriously, where is the place to eat in Miami, OK, for visitors who have greater expectations than the promise of type-two diabetes and daily "attaboy" for Ted Cruz? Let's be honest, there's not many options in Miami, OK. My expectations were not high when my friends and I stopped into the Buttered Bunns Cafe, but we were pleasantly surprised. The french toast was truly delicious. The whipped butter topping was so good, it really didn't need syrup. (I used some anyway.) Service was prompt and thorough. The coffee was hot and plentiful. Almost missed this place because they aren't listed for breakfast. Good variety, parking lot was packed at 8:04 am when they opened at 8am. Quick service, attentive but not overwhelming. Great coffee and everyone in my 5 person party was thoroughly pleased with the meal. read more

Nice small town diner. Excellent customer service and low prices. Most items on menu are less than $10. I ordered the chicken noodle meal and it was delicious. Waiter had it out within five minutes of ordering and they were busy. I highly recommend stopping here to eat if you're a local or passing through. My daughter and I are on our way home from a week long road trip. We asked the toll booth person where they would recommend for breakfast. He pointed us to this place. We are glad he did. Passing through on the way to Kansas we decided to stop here and eat lunch . Liked the atmosphere and was seated immediately. We sat at the table waiting for someone to come take our drink order for about 10 mins , even after making eye contact with our waitress it still took awhile for her to take our drinks . Finally when we were able to make our orders I got the chicken livers and gizzards , girlfriend got chicken fried steak and her mom got the hamburger steak. Waited a long time to receive food. Long as in 25 mins or longer . Food looked delicious. My food was good . My girlfriends moms food was good . My girlfriend went to take a bite of her chicken fried steak and immediately make a face of disgust . I quickly said what's wrong ? She said "it's super salty" and for her to say that is weird due to the fact she doesn't mind a little salt . When I tried a bite it almost made me pass out due to the salt content . It tasted like they just dumped a whole salt shaker on it and called it good ! Disgusted and not edible at all . Upon telling waitress of the situation, she just said " oh I'm sorry" and pretty much just shrugged her shoulders as if to say " I don't know what to tell you" instead of offering to get something different to eat . When the waitress came back , the girlfriends mom informed her that she could just take the chicken fried steak off of the bill because it was not edible, and we refused to pay for it . We were here on vacation and decided to give this place a try. I am glad we did. The food was good, old fashioned home cooking. The service was fast and the meal was piping hot! Their breakfast is absolutely amazing and priced well. Service is usually good. Seems they may need more servers, the girls working usually seem to be rushing and working their butts off. But are attentive and never rude. I haven't eaten lunch or dinner there in at least a year probably due to bad experiences with the food. Stopped in for breakfast on the way to an OU game. My first time there, place is small and we got there on the tail end of the morning rush but staff is friendly and helpful. Lisa was right there to clean off our table and bring us menus, and quick to return and take our orders. For being as busy as they were the food arrived in ~10 minutes. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns and a biscuit and gravy. The gravy was ok, better than some I've had, good sized order of hash browns. The star of the plate was the Ckn fried steak! This is the real deal, not that frozen crap, this was fresh and hand breaded and one of the best chicken fried steaks I've had and I usually order it if it's on the breakfast menu. Dad's over easy eggs were just right and the bacon was crispy, not limp like at a lot of places. This is definitely worth a visit! read more

I love finding diners to try and this one stuck out. When we got there the sign says please wait to be seated, then were told to seat yourself. So we did, I always go for a booth bc I'm getting old lol, I guess I picked the one that the waitress doesn't wait on.:( took us 25 minutes to get water. Well now this place is busy that the doctors all come here so now we wait for food. And wait.... 40 minutes in and we finally got our biscuit and gravy and egg and toast! 40 minutes for already cooked b&gs and an egg only takes a minute. Not so fresh at all! We won't be coming back. Being vegetarians it's always hard to find places to eat in smaller towns. The motel clerk recommended this place and we weren't disappointed. The egg dishes were creative. Unexpected great lunching a little town! We are on a huge road trip and stopped in Miami for gas and lunch. I took yelp's suggestion for Buttered Bunns and - holy smokes- this place is a total gem. Our family of 5 had spaghetti (1 adult and 1 kid portion), chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra, a grilled chicken sandwich and a burger/fries. It was all very good, but the chicken fried steak meal and the spaghetti meals were WAY above expectations. Both rivaled my father in law's versions, which is high praise- you'll have to take my word for it. It is a small shop, and by noon on a Friday it was packed, so the locals know all about it. Go a little early to make sure you don't miss out. Oh- and each table gets a basket of giant hot rolls and butter (get it? Buttered Bunns?) and those were super yummy! read more

I had the chicken fried steak twice and the first time it was really good and the second it was terrible so don't know how consistent they are on them.
