Best breakfast I've had in a long time, and certainly the most unique. It has habanero sausage(from Reams I think), giardiniera, pepper jack, and topped with a spicy cilantro crema. Basically everything you need for a killer burrito. The entire meal my mind was thinking burrito but it's certainly a omelette thru and thru. Really unique, perfectly spicy and shockingly delicious. So yeah, get the Scotch Bonnett: its amazing. She had the mushroom/bacon/brie omelette but added spinach. Loaded with mushrooms and really rich and savory. Spinach was certainly a nice addition. The side of pancakes are huge and perfect. Service is always super friendly and helpful, food comes out quick, and everything from the coffee bar is top notch. Went on Sunday for brunch and waited for about 45 min and understandable because it's pretty new in the area plus the busiest time for breakfast anyway. We went to around the river and by the time we came back it was ready. The foods was good, got the omelet and skillet. The egg in the omelet was fluffy which is good, I was happy with that. The decor, is great the theme I think, they wanted to go for was "Modern Farm" main colors only has was grey, white and black. We usually love Buttermilk but this visit was not great. My husband ordered corned beef hash and it was joys chunks of corned beef added into the dry hash browns, how disappointing. This was my first visit to Buttermilk and it was fantastic. Our server was patient with us and made great recommendations to consider as first time diners. The biscuits are delicious as is the house made jam, made fresh daily! The portions are quite generous. I'd say even shareable. If not, count on taking food home - which we enjoyed the next morning. It's okay. Not sure what the fuss is all about. I've eaten at both the Cantera and Geneva locations. Very crowded (which is a sigh that the food would be amazing) and nosy. The Bloody Mary was undrinkable, and both times...the food has just been okay-nothing to write home about. I was extremely excited to try this place out given the beautiful bright, white-washed rustic ambiance similar to what you would find in Chicago. My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday around noon and only had to wait 15 minutes. We ordered the banana nutella crepe with a side of biscuits & gravy and the mountain house skillet with a side of pancakes. The food was good, but nothing noteworthy. Really wish the banana nutella crepe had nutella inside rather than just on the outside. The mountain house skillet was predominately just onions. Here is how my thoughts go: 1) Walk in: wow, those hostesses need to smile and say hello (yes, even when you are busy) 2) Sit down: our server is friendly 3) Food arrives: wow, that looks amazing 4) First bite: not bad 5) Second bite: umm, looks better than it is. 6) Where is our server, it's been a while. 7) Server brings bill and asks if we want our drinks in to-go cups: nice touch. This time I thought I would try something different so I got the Alabama Hot Chicken Benny. It is described as two homemade cheddar scallion biscuits, topped with a boneless fried chicken thigh glazed with hot pepper jelly, two fried eggs, sharp white cheddar and an alabama white BBQ sauce. I tried the biscuit alone to see how it tasted. It tasted like a biscuit. I could see specks in the biscuit, but it did not taste like cheddar or scallion. The chicken was nicely fried and crisp. The glaze tasted like a really sweet bbq. I didn't taste any hot pepper. The alabama BBQ sauce didn't really have taste. It was just kind of there like a white sausage-less gravy. The portion was large and the meal looked very impressive when it came out, but the taste was not as great as the description made it sound. I expected a burst of flavors. Instead it really just tasted like a sweet bbq fried chicken on a biscuit with some white bland gravy. I think this place has just gotten a reputation and has been hyped so much. Every time I eat here, I am disappointed. There aren't many breakfast places around, so this one is clean and has a nice decor. Will I be back? Probably, but it won't be my choice. It is certainly the place for pancakes, perfect bacon and many other yummy dishes, but i would recommend to stick to American dishes like those or the skillets. Please do not call your chilaquiles that cause they couldn't be further from the delicious Mexican dish, it's more like nachos with chilli... Although the waiting time is really long and one waits patiently, you better not get the last table near to the toilets, cause people cut to exit through the emergency door in the back and you get a really cold breeze every 5 minutes or even more often which gets very uncomfortable, you guys really need to work on a screen or false wall there.
