Checked this place out today- loved it!! Had the BLT salad (AMAZING!) and the chicken salad on a croissant (ALSO amazing!) split with a friend ($1 charge for them to split) and it was so much food! Totally could've split just one dish and would've been a heathy portion. Staff was super friendly and sweet- everything appeared very clean & fresh! Will for sure go back! Usually busy, but never more than a 20 minute wait. Awesome coffee, and their rooster skillet is my all time favorite brunch meal ever, at any restaurant. ENORMOUS portions. Lasts me 3 meals! Food: Cookie butter latte: tastes of gingerbread which you would expect but not too sweet. I could only take a few sips but my mother loved every last drop of it Stuffed breakfast biscuit: came with a side of breakfast potatoes-well cooked potatoes with thick cut bacon peppers onions and bits of ham-yum. When I got this it was a small mountain of biscuit. The gravy was rich and everything you'd expect in a county gravy. The biscuit was tender. My only critisxim is I wish there was more biscuit and less egg. The biscuit was extremely thin and there must have been half a dozen eggs inside there. But that's just me knit picking. Overall a great dish that I wish I could have grown a second stomach for so I could finish it Stuffed banana bourbon French toast. Thick toast with pastry cream bananas toffee sauce and bacon. What's not to love. I expected it to be cloyingly sweet but it wasn't. Was it sweet yes. But the salty bacon really helped tame that sweetness. It was a great bananas foster style French toast. Again another massive portion. Service: our waitress greeted us promptly and let us switch from a table where there was a draft to a booth with no issue at all. She helped with suggestions and came back enough times to check on us but not so much that you couldn't enjoy your food and company In a bit of peace. Overall I would recommend anyone in or visiting the Naperville/Geneva area. One of the breakfasts I've ever had at a restaurant. Very good price for the amount of food you get. My friends made fun of me for saying it was "phenomenal" twice. I went with the speciality breakfast panini, ate it for lunch as well! The breakfast potatoes were crispy as promised, and a large helping. Very disappointed in my experience at Buttermilk this morning. We followed the hostess to a dirty table, which she then cleaned with a rag (no disinfectant, like all other restaurants use during this time). I thought it might have been a simple mistake, but right after we sat down a couple was sat at another dirty table that hadn't been cleaned after the previous party left. She used the same rag without the bottle of disinfectant spray that was set out next to the rag. Our waitress was nice and the food quality was good, but mine was cold while my girlfriend's was steaming hot. I used to look forward to coming here, but would think twice about stopping in again. It is more expensive than competitors and the experience did not match its price tag. I did not feel that customer safety was prioritized. read more

Our breakfast experience at Buttermilk was wonderful. It is difficult making a choice given the number of mouth watering offerings on the menu. When I thought I made up my mind, I noticed something else that looked equally great. I ended up selected the Prime Rib Skillet. I was not disappointed. It was outstanding. There is not an item on the menu I have tried that wasn't delicious! The French toast is my favorite and their bloody Mary's are to die for! I have been to Buttermilk a about 5 or so times. I like to try a new dish every time I go. All the food has been great so far. I would agree with the other helper about the portion size they are not huge but not tiny. I would say a little slightly overpriced for some of their sides. I suggest trying it if you haven't. read more

Buttermilk is great, the owners have this concept down pat. There is usually a line, but I use the app to hold my place so I show up and have only a short wait. The kids love their not at all healthy kid's menu, and I love their corned beef hash - actual real meat unlike other places that use the canned stuff. Also, love their yogurt! Tried this for the first time this past weekend and everything was delicious! I got a stuffed biscuit and gravy which was beyond amazing, not to mention roasted potatoes that were ridiculously tasty. This is best place for breakfast in the tri cities area! It is worth the wait every time. I always make sure to bring friends from out of town here. Checking in on yelp helps cut down the wait! I've eaten here several times. Overall, great spot but you really need to bring your appetite as they offer up some big meals. The food is good. This place was highly recommended. The wait was too long . We waited almost 2 hours but people kept coming in. The menu is pricey for breakfast food but well worth it. I had food envy seeing others get served their dishes. Everything looked so good and I was extremely hungry after waiting and watching for two hours. I ordered the Ranch omelette after eating a homemade biscuit with homemade jam. I could have ate the biscuits all day but one was enough and I think this was the reason I couldn't finish my meal. My meal came and I absolutely thought I would devour it. As I was eating the omelette I was feeling very full. Everything tasted so great I couldn't stop. This place is over-rated. We went when they first opened, and then I thought they were a bit pricey. Since then there is always an outrageous wait. I tried to meet friends for late breakfast on a Saturday a few weeks ago, and the lady taking names laughed when I tried to put our name in...the wait was an hour and a half!!!!!!
