I ordered takeout from here yesterday because I was craving Thai food. There aren't too many good or close options near me, so we chose to try Buuz Thai after reading mixed reviews and considering the distance from us. We ordered two of my favorite Thai dish, Pad Thai. The price was good and ordering was very easy by phone. Pickup (by my husband) was also very fast. He also said it was pretty full on a Friday night. The food itself was just OK. There wasn't as much sauce or flavor as I have had in this dish in the past, and it felt dry. It wasn't bad, just fair. It also wasn't at all filling (perhaps not enough meat?) and I easily ate the whole bowl which was shocking as I usually can only eat half when I typically order this (or maybe there was less food in the bowl?). Overall, I'm mixed about if I'd eat here again. Perhaps their Mongolian dishes are better as I'm reading from other reviews. read more

This is a tough review to write as I do enjoy their food but I am no longer going to support this business. I've been ordering food from here minimum once a week, sometimes twice for the last 3 months since I've move into this neighborhood. This past Saturday I ordered takeout for my family and friend who was in town. As I'm walking into the business to pick up my food, I come across their sign posted outside of their door that reads "free Thai tea with every takeout order or dine in". I've walked pass this sign for the last 3 months and every time I've tried to call in the order and request this promotion or the free spring roll promotion they always tell me they don't have it. That's fine I guess, I never cared too much to follow up on this. However, on this particular day My wife really wanted this thai tea. So upon picking up our order my wife asks if we can get this promotion. The manager working proceeds to tell us that it's for dine in only and when we pushed back and told her that's not what the sign reads. The manager proceeds to walk outside read the sign with her hands on her hip and then picks the sign up and brings it back in walking pass my wife with a smirk. The kind of smirk that is intended to piss you off and make a point that she's doing this to show you her dislike in what we requested. The audacity of this manager to treat customers this way is unacceptable. They literally see us come in to pick up food weekly and to treat us this way just left a terrible lasting impression that I haven't gotten over. So much to where I'm writing this review two days after as I reheat my leftovers. I choose to support your small business because I think it's important that we support businesses who deserve it. However, there's another Thai restaurant LITERALLY one light away that I will happily give my business to. I truly hope the owners and managers read this post so they know that it's not ok to treat your customers this way. At the end of the day there's a million Thai restaurants in the northern Virginia area. Tasty food isn't the only thing that's required. You also have to have good customer service. read more

I thought this place was pretty decent - they have your standard Thai noodles, appetizers, and curries. The restaurant is pretty small and seems to do a lot of delivery and take-out, but we ate inside. The tables and chairs were not super clean (they don't seem to do a great job wiping them down in between customers) but I survived. We got the pad see ew, which had broccoli and chicken. They had run out of the wide noodles, so they substituted in the thin rice noodles instead. The sauce was pretty good but a tad bit on the salty side. The broccoli and chicken were a little on the skimpy side, I wish there was a little more broccoli in there. The red curry (Panang) was really good and I'd definitely get this again. I liked the chicken, the vegetables, and the curry sauce was spicy (we ordered mild, and the level of spiciness was perfect for us). I would recommend the curries. Overall, a decent place for a quick meal, generous portions and good Thai food. Not the best I've ever had, but certainly still better than average. Baba and Kulan are lifesavers! I placed my order right around 10pm (restaurant closes at 10:30pm) and unfortunately my Grubhub app didn't work nor did my apple pay app. They waited patiently for my apps to work and offered alternative solutions. This is all to say how important customer service is and these two went above and beyond, on a busy night, right at closing time, to make sure their customer was satisfied! After getting our nails done nearby, we were hungry for dinner and found this place as we were craving Thai food. We were seated as soon as we walked in but it took a while for someone to come by with waters and to take our orders. It was not that busy inside as well. JG ordered Larb Gai, IL ordered the beef Mongolian soup and I got the Panang curry. When my friend got her soup, it tasted like salt water and the bowl was so small to assume that it was an appetizer. There were maybe three pieces of meat in it as well. We expressed our concerns to the waitress but she kept stating that that was how it was supposed to taste and did not seem accommodating at all. My friend requested that she exchange it for the drunken noodles instead, but once again she did not seem very enthusiastic about that decision at all. The other two dishes were fine, but it didn't stand out enough for us to return. My absolute favorite thai place in Arlington. Their panang curry is undefeated and unmatched by any other curry I have tried in DC. I eat here at least once a month, and I highly recommend it. They offer both takeout and dine in. I usually do take out since it's quicker. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get my meal to go. The great thing about their meals as well is that there's always enough for leftovers. You can get a hearty helping too! It's the most bang for your buck for your buck. I need to try other things on the menu, but I'm the type of the person that tends to stick to what I like once I've found it. BLUF: A tasty place for Thai food in Rosslyn/Courthouse for a decent price compared to other places in the DMV area! We came here on a Saturday evening, and it is tucked away as a smaller restaurant (next to an ABC liquor store, who wants to pregame?). We were greeted by friendly waitresses and seated quickly. There was a special going on for free Thai tea if you ordered Panang curry, so we ordered that and the drunken noodles. The food came out quickly and was some of the best Thai food I've had in the DMV area! The drunken noodles tasted delicious as it was not too sweet like a lot of places make their noodles. It also had the perfect ratio of meat/veggies to noodles. The Panang curry was cooked to perfection as you were able to taste the coconut and spices without the spice being too powerful. I also appreciated that they didn't give an excessive amount of rice. Given the great customer service and excellent food quality, I highly recommend coming here to try out some good Thai food. From what I understand, that's what happened -- I hope that isn't too super-secret to reveal in a public format such as a review! Anyway, I went for the Mongolian food -- like, obviously! I see most people go for the Thai ... and I did try a bit of that when I went with a friend and that's what he ordered and it was good and moist and fresh and flavourful and all those things you'd want it to be but it's not like I even completely know what it was, just something. I've been a few times and myself, I've always only ordered the Mongolian things. First time, I just got a milk tea and then another milk tea to go. That was very good! It was winter, and that tea is definitely nice and super-hot, filling, and kind of huge as I recall -- and last winter, unlike this one, was actually cold! Then I went back with my mom, she found it crowded which I guess it is, being kind of small with tables close together -- so the whole experience really depends on a lot of factors such as your comfort squeezing into small spaces, and that makes it less for everyone than I'd like to report it being. Ordered takeout through UberEats. I got the massasman curry with chicken, spring rolls, and Thai iced tea. Through the app, I got the spring rolls BOGO, so two servings for the price of one. I paid $2 extra to get chicken spring rolls. Additionally, I had a promo code of $15 for order of $25 or more. Truthfully, I am so glad that I had this promo code because this was quite possibly the worst Thai food I've ever had. To start the spring rolls were just plain vegetable spring rolls no chicken, so not sure why I was still charged the extra $2. They didn't even taste good, were so bland. Then the curry was so unappetizing. It felt like I was eating peanut butter curry. It was so sweet and nutty, barely any of the traditional massaman curry taste. The potatoes and chicken were cooked well but the curry was just so bad. Do not recommend! And the worst part of my meal was the Thai iced tea I love Thai iced tea, this did not taste like Thai iced tea! It was just very orange and just milk with sugar. Super disappointing all around. My favorite Mom&Pop. Very special gem of a Mongolian spot! No frills just authentic, delicious food at very reasonable prices. The owners are warm hearted, lovely people. Ask for Sola or Babana or your server can tell you about the Mongolian menu. I have become very friendly with the owners after several meals here each week. I cannot get enough. My wife and I are addicted to the bone broth beef soup and I haven't even worked my way thru the Thai menu yet. If you like dumplings, try Mongolian "Buuz" beef soup dumplings. Perfect! Or, enjoy the stellar Thai menu with all the crave-worthy items you would expect to find, like duck krapow. Thai iced tea and milk tea are awesome. We come here for the Mongolian menu! Mongolian food is real authentic and delicious. I love everything from the menu. All the dishes come out presentable and delicious. #1 dish I love is the khuushuur. They fry it perfectly with good portion of meat inside. #2 dish I love is the tsuivan. Was excited to try Buzz Thai, but sadly disappointed with my order. Ordered the Pad Thai, Mussamum curry, and the Khuushuur. Everything has lukewarm to cold when it arrived and the potato salad that comes with the Khuushuur was not included. The Pad Thai was fine once reheated, though the portion was on the small side, particularly given the cost; the Mussamum curry was mostly onion and sauce (even the box of rice was cold, which is a feat); and the Khuushuur was completely unpalatable until re-pan fried in a skillet. My wife and I have been regulars of Thai Buzz since 2018. The reason? We live nearby, and there are very few other options in Rosslyn to get noon deep-fried food. Buzz Thai is an irregular restaurant, where the same dish on different days can be very good or very mediocre. At least we have never had it very bad, thus we tend to give it another try. The food was absolutely disgusting and the meat/shrimp was clearly past expiration date. The pad Thai honestly taste like no other pad Thai dish. I only ate one bite of my meal paid and left because it was inedible. It was clear to the server/waitress that the meal wasn't up to par because she asked why my plate was full. I informed her it was disgusting as well as the shrimp tasted well past expiration. Her response was "okay". The seats aren't wide hip friendly. The inside is very unappealing as well. Overall this was a COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND THE SERVICE WAS JUST AS BAD AS THE FOOD. Zero or negative stars. The driver was an arrogant kid. He called me and asked , in his own words " come get your food". I'm instructed him to wait for the building door to be used and get in then deliver to the apartment unit. In two minutes he came up and was rude. I asked for his name and "Brian" needs training before working. Now the food quality was poor. It ended up in the trash and Yelp / Grub Hub refunded me. Like most places at this point, I saw it on Yelp, bookmarked it and waiting for an opportunity. One day, I wasn't too far away so I made my way over. I arrived shortly after opening and I planned on dining-in but the décor was much more cuter than I expected. I was thinking this was more a fast-casual place but it wasn't. I decided that I would just grab my order to-go, I did need to get on with life. I had checked out the menu beforehand but I there was a sandwich board outfront and a sign indoors advertising a lunch special for a Green Curry with a free Thai Iced Tea. That is what I settled on; Tofu Green Curry, my free Thai Iced Tea and Curry Puffs just cause. It didn't take too long for the food be ready. And listen..... I was expecting them to skimp on the portions since I was cheap on the lunch special flow, they didn't. I enjoyed my Green Curry a lot. The Tofu was well prepared and I loved the amount of veggies. The Curry Puff were amazing and it was four of them, John, Paul, George and Ringo. Yes! The Thai Iced Tea was sweet sweet so I just waited until some of the ice melted and that made that better. I got a flier for Thai Eatery and promptly ignored it until my friend suggested going there for dinner. It's actually called Buzz Thai Eatery and actually has both Thai and Mongolian food. We shared the Mongolian dumplings for an appetizer which I would highly recommend--probably the best part of the meal. I got the Mongolian beef soup which was just ok--it was pretty oil and the meat a bit fatty, so I don't think I'd order it again. Also compared to other dishes the portion was pretty small and it took a long time to come out. My friends got some Thai dishes and enjoyed them but didn't think they were anything too special. I'd probably consider ordering delivery from Buuz especially the Mongolian dumplings, but it's not worth a separate visit. read more

I love this place. I love it for takeout and I also love it for dining in. The food is always super hot, tastes fresh and delicious, flavorful. Everything you'd want in a quick visit for Thai food. Also they have really good Thai iced tea. My favorite item is drunken noodles with chicken. Their steamed veggies side is also very good and nice sized. The chicken satay appetizer is also delicious and comes with two sauces - one peanut based and other vinegar based. Highly recommend! read more

The server didn't care to come back to ask my table if i needed anything or if the food was okay. I guess they were so busy packing up all the to-go orders. I wonder if that is the case that the service is horrible that no one wants to dine in? The restaurant was awfully empty, but only my table. I had to ask the server several times what I needed. The food was average, not great like last time. Highlight of the night was when i saw the bill. The price wasn't the same as how they stated on the menu. Everything is going up from $1-$3. Not a quarter increase if you wonder. When I asked the server, she said that was their old menu. The entire time I was there -from the time I sat down at the table to order food to the time I finished my meal and got the bill from the server I didn't get informed if the price has been increased. I didn't see any notes on the menu saying price has been increased either. I felt like I was being robbed and got scammed. Excellent food and incredible service. As a vegetarian I'm always skeptical to eat food at Thai restaurants because most curries tend to have shrimp paste/fish sauce. What I love about Buuz is that 1) the servers have excellent knowledge of the menu and ingredients 2) an excellent selection for vegetarian/nut-free eaters 3) warm service. I intend to become a frequenter -- come here and play board games (that I bring) while eating. I'm a huge fan of the veggie gyoza and basil fried rice!
