I love this ride. I'm really competitive, so it's fun to play this with whomever I'm with. I'm still not as good as I want to be, but I've gotten better over the last few months. This is because I've found out the scoring system and the secret targets that help increase your score dramatically. I know diamonds and triangles are worth more than circles and squares, so try hitting those first. Also, they are worth more points when lit. It's also really cool that you can email the picture to yourself at the end of the ride for free... more rides should definitely consider that. Happy shooting! read more

This is an enjoyable ride where you score points by shooting targets with a laser gun. It's fun to play but it's not as good as Midway Mania in California Adventure. Also, one of the guns I ended up with needed some major calibration. One neat thing about this ride: its Fastpass system is separate from the other rides in the park. Blast away!! Whats not to love about this ride!! you get to shoot the gun and totally destroy your wife's measly score! no match for this guy!! This one is nice and air conditioned for the summer time, you get to sit and take a nice ride for if you need a break from standing in lines or walking the park all day and like i mentioned before you get to interact by shooting at targets... just don't get wore out! got to use this ride as a "break" lol have a great time at the park and make sure to visit this ride read more

So much fun! I usually get level 4 but i've gotten level 5 one time! My goal is level 6.

It's a fun ride but the guns are a crapshoot. Me and my girlfriend are very competitive and we go sometimes just to play astroblasters. Sometimes a gun will work fine close up, but is completely useless over 10 feet away. Seriously one of the most fun and interactive rides in the park but age has deteriorated it big time. Fix the guns and bring astroblasters back to what it was before! read more

This is one of my favorite rides in the park! For lots of reasons; its a continuous ride therefore the line always moves, its interactive, the lead-up while in line has a cool story and things to see while you're waiting, you get to shoot stuff, AND at the end there is a funny picture of you that you get to email to yourself to be embarrassed about later. I felt like such a little kid getting excited to shoot Zurg, but that's ok! I loved it! My brother was really big into Toy Story, then the Buzz Lightyear cartoon show when it was on. So I know a little about the Little Green Men, Buzz, and Zurg. Not a thrill ride, but Astro Blasters is probably one of my new favorite stops inside Disneyland. read more

I remember when this was the premier interactive ride to go on a few years back, but now with Midway Mania over in California Adventures it has taken a backseat. I still really like this ride though. I like that no two rides are ever the same in that you can shoot at different targets each time. Also it actually is a fairly long ride. Sometimes when you wait for an hour you want a ride to last more than two minutes. Great staple of Tomorrow land and of the park. read more

This is a usual must on every Disneyland trip, even though I lose every time. The ride vehicles are moving on a conveyor belt (in the same fashion as the haunted mansion) so the line goes by pretty quickly. The wait for this line usually dies down to 5-10 minutes at night time, so definitely save it for later. If you really care about beating your friend or want to make the leaderboard, know that the different shaped "Z's" all have different point systems. I'm not sure what they are though, there is some wall along the beginning of the line inside which shows the ranking. Just be warned that the picture doesn't always work, and even if it does show up, sometimes the picture never actually gets sent to your email. read more

What a fun ride! I especially like it because I ALWAYS get a fast pass and bypass the long line. It's fun shooting the targets and swiveling your vehicle around to get a better shot. Everything is brightly colored and very fun. Go on this ride while in the park, but get a fast pass. read more

I love this ride, its so much fun. Then again I always win so of course its fun ;) But its completely interactive and keeps you on your toes the entire time. Basically you go against the other rider next to you, or just aim for a personal best score, and aim the gun at lighted targets throughout the ride. Triangles, circles and squares illuminate when you shoot them with your gun indicating you've earned points, circles are lowest, squares are next and triangles are worth the most points. By then end, your arm might be sore. The ride and line move quick so don't be intimidated by the long looking line that often times goes outside. Once done, stop to email yourself a photo taken (often while you're concentrating on shooting) along with your score! read more

I always liked the shooting gallery in Adventureland, this is like that only it's a) A dark ride, in the tradition of many, many Disney rldes b) Glow in the dark! c) Competitive-- there are rankings and it keeps score It is also one of the quickest rides in Disney (pro tip!) because the cars never stop moving, much like Haunted Mansion. So while the ride often seems long, it moves pretty quickly. read more

One of the funnest rides for families in the park. No height requirement and a continuous run makes for faster lines. In the interest of time and knowing nothing about this ride, I skipped Astro Blasters for years. But I finally rode it on my latest visit. Wow! It's loud and colorful with black light, explosive sounds, twists, turns, laser blasts..it had us smiling and laughing through the entire ride. The guns don't always feel the most accurate, but the interactive target scoring makes it so fun. And most of the line is indoors away from the summer heat. I own you Zurg! read more

First ride we tried when we first got here and I couldn't of been more satisfied. The line was a bit long but the ride was well worth it. Even though the 30+ minute line was long, this ride was fun as heck and I'd ride it again if I had the chance. As a matter of fact, I'd ride it over and over if I could. This ride is similar to the Toy Story Mania ride at Disney's Adventureland, but not in 3D. I would describe more about the ride, but this ride is more of a experience yourself sorta thing and I can't tell you what it does because I'd be killing the ride for you. This ride is great for kids, and when I was little I only wished they had the same ride or something similar to it when I was here. Boy, the things kids get due to technology nowadays. My son had so much fun, he wanted to ride it again, but little does he know that the park is huge and we needed to get going to have time to do other things. Don't be afraid of a long line outside! Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters is a fun air conditioned ride that a great break from the crowds. Once you're inside, the line is only 5 minutes long, so the queue is mostly outside. The Blasters here are better than the ones at WDW because they're on a cord and you can hit targets behind you without having to turn the car and force your partner (or opponent) to fire that way too. Keep an eye out for the hidden target on the left wall when you enter a dark tunnel! read more

This ride is great! The wait for the ride is always under 30 minutes, which is great if you or your child is impatient. The ride is also pretty long. The ride include a small cart (fits 2), two "laser pistols", and a joystick to move the cart around to get a better view of your target. In the ride you shot at "Z" symbols that are either connected to moving targets or to the wall. It is also good for a small family competition, at the end of the ride they give you a score and a level, like "space ranger" "space cadet". read more

I'm not a competitive shooting game type of person so that probably explains why I don't find this ride as entertaining as most. The theme is awesome, Buzz Lightyear was my favorite cartoon character as kid, so I'm partial to like Buzz as an adult. The concept of the game is to shoot targets as your ride travels through different rooms. You have control of the carts you sit in, so you can turn your cart whichever way you please. When I ride this ride, I just spend the whole time spinning the cart and I leave the shooting to the other space rangers aboard. read more

I haven't been on this ride in a while but just got to ride it again with my brother and it's just as fun as I remember! I love how interactive this ride is and is like a moving shooting gallery with the various targets you pass by. I noticed the cars use the same technology as the "doom buggies" on the Haunted Mansion, so think of it as similar to that ride only you get to shoot at stuff and rack up points. I made it to level 3 and got over 70,000 points I believe. Easily among the most fun rides at the park and something the whole family will enjoy very much. read more

Hi, so I would normally give Disneyland a 5 since it's my favorite place, however, one of the workers today really ruined my day with her poor attitude. We were going on Astro blasters and were in the fast pass line. We saw people leaving so we walked towards the front. Turns out, she was moving the line but didn't really instruct us well saying that we had to follow her. Then it turned into a ton of people cutting us, when we told the worker, she replied with "Well I told you guys to follow me!" And closed off the line, and sent us all the way to the back. She had curly long hair, with glasses and was covering her name tag. I love this place and even have tattoos of Disneyland. I have a season pass and even pay for max pass, however so many people were upset and she didn't even care. Disneyland is known for having amazing workers, but she is not one. This is easily Kevin's favorite ride in Disneyland. I am not such a fan as I pretty much suck at shooting and getting high scores, but I do try my best. For scoring purposes, I do much better on Toy Story Mania in CA Adventure. We went on this ride a couple of times each day we were in the park as the lines are typically never longer than 10 minutes. The fun thing after the ride is that you can find your picture that was taken and type in your email and walla, Buzz Lightyear himself sends you an email with your picture on his ride. read more

Love this ride. Toy Story Mania is a great follow up, but this is the original. I always have to ride Astro Blasters when I'm in the park and I always have a great time. When I was more of a regular at Disneyland, I used to have quite an impressive score, but things have changed. This is one of the only few of Astro Blasters that I actually enjoy more or so than any of the rides at Disneyland. It is very much similar like most other amusement rides with pointing and shooting the toy gun, but what's cool is that you can go to the store and enjoy all sorts of varieties of toys and action figures that they sell. It's Disneyland. It's Toy Story. It's Buzz Lightyear! This is a ride where you can control the rotation of the car. There are no bumps or roller coaster type things, just a flat floor. You have a laser blaster on the little car where you shoot at Zurg's army for points. So I think I'm pretty good right? I mean, I can shoot! Then why is it that EVERY time I go on this ride my wife beats me? I think there is a conspiracy going on there because every time I get a laser blaster it isn't hitting what I aim at. I'm just saying. In the end, we saved the galaxy from the evil Emperor Zurg so it's all good again. Team effort, right? read more
