Had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience tonight for dinner. The drinks were super expensive and not strong at all. The food was so nasty and our waitress was condescending and so rude when it came to paying our tab. Please Naples does any mid-range restaurant that's near or on the water have edible food? Dropped in today for a late afternoon snack. Ordered a beer (Ya can't be ruin a Corona!) 2 appetizers; calamari and jalapeño poppers. Both were over done in every way. Over battered, over cooked (burnt), over dried-out and completely ruined. Even the server knew it was bad when we paid and left over half of each order on the plates. She didn't even ask if we wanted to take it home. Nobody would want to eat it at the restaurant, let alone at home! We are both excellent cooks so please Naples, stop serving junk and raise the bar. So lucky the last hurricane didn't ruin this beachy restaurant on the water (canal-lake side.) Famous for grouper, I was with a no-fish eater, so we got yummy cheeseburgers. A favorite "dive" place with patio on the water. A block from Vanderbilt Beach, and lots of people walked up in beach clothes which creates a chill easy beach vibe. So... this place ended up being about what I expected it would be like in terms of food, service and atmosphere. Highlights of this place include an amazing view of Vanderbilt Harbor... especially fantastic on this full moon lit night and the clam chowder tasted pretty dang good. As for everything else, mehhhhh... not terrible, and for the price, perhaps could bump it up to not bad... but price aside, I would not say anything was good enough to make us want to come back other than it simply being convenient to our home (7 block away). We had Coconut Shrimp, Butterflied shrimp, Blackened Mahi, and for sides French fries, baked potato, Cole slaw and roasted tomato topped with melted cheese (of some kind???). The blackened mahi and fries my son ordered was probably the highlight entree... cooked well, seasoned with your standard McCormick slice company blackened seasoning. The coconut shrimp didn't taste bad, but if your wondering why the coconut shrimp platter is $2 less than the butterflied shrimp entree, if you get them both you'll quickly understand... It's clear the coconut shrimp are from a freezer pack, complete with the sauce, which I'm quite familiar with as something I've purchased tons of times from the grocery store... but if your questioning me, the simple fact that the butterflied shrimp are roughly twice the size of the coconut shrimp should be enough proof that they are not the same shrimp. As for the Butterflied shrimp, I'm fairly certain are fresh, the reason I'm so certain is because the batter was heavy and lacking seasoning... no-frozen food company would let their fried shrimp enter the box tasting so bland. I had to put a tremendous amount of salt on them and douse them in cocktail sauce and lemon to make them taste like something... which I rarely ever have to do with properly prepared fried shrimp. The service, if you read my reviews about service in Naples, the are similar... very pleasant, nice, but not great service.. Of your looking for a nice destination to enjoy a drink in a relaxed atmosphere or looking for an inexpensive seafood joint that's not pretentious in Naples, this place is it. But for us, unless I'm just scroungy and coming off the beach and wanting to grab some cheap eats on the way home, we probably won't be back. read more

Cute, low-key little place with indoor and outdoor tables and a nice water view, about 8 miles north of Old Naples, near the Ritz Carlton and other beach resorts. The scale of everything is small, from the eating and bar area indoors to the parking lot (though they have a second parking strip steps away). The front staff (we counted 3) were efficient and professional, maybe more than one would expect here. Service was very good, and we enjoyed our fresh food from the sea (grouper and shrimp) quite a lot. read more

We have been going to Buzz's for years. I almost hate to do this review since I feel like this is our little secret. The food & service are consistently good. Tony was our waiter tonight & brought our drinks & meals quickly. My husband had fried butterflied shrimp with french fries (I love their fries because they are the skinny ones & really crunchy). I wasn't real hungry when we went but I had a cup of clam chowder & some onion rings (very good). The beer is always cold & I would describe this place as just cozy inside. Great meal & setting! Wanted something on the casual side while sitting outside and this fit the bill. Bottled beer came with a chilled ice cold glass which made it really refreshing. I started with the clam chowder and it was really good. Usually a lot of the clam chowder is I've had are pretty bland. Theirs had great flavor, was served piping hot, and had nice chunks of clams throughout. I am from Philly and know real Philly Cheesesteaks so when my wife ordered it I was suspicious. It was almost as good as my favorites back home. Meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The cheese was melted throughout and the hoagie roll very close to the Amorosa gold standard. The fish Rueben was outstanding and also served piping hot. I got it grilled and it was so mild I would go blackened next time. The coleslaw was really flavorful and the rye bread was toasted/grilled perfectly. The fries were worth the upgrade from the bag of Lays chips that comes with the sandwich. If this rating was based solely on the taste and quality of the food and the location, I would give it a 5/5. Unfortunately, Buzz's price point it a little steep, but it doesn't stop me from going back every time I visit, it just limits the amount I can come in one trip. The Grouper Rueben is phenomenal. They fry the fish to golden perfection, and the combo of coleslaw and thousand island makes it all come together. I could eat this sandwich every day. The fries are definitely above average as well, as they always come super crispy. It is an up charge for French fries if you want them instead of the bag of lays potato chips that come standard with their sandwiches. Walking up to the restaurant is was cute and colorful. The inside itself is a little dark, but we chose to ear outside on the dock. Coming here hoping to get fresh fish since we were near the water...sadly that wasn't the case. The fish is not caught daily. The food was still fine. I ended up ordering the philly cheese steak sandwich. The owner was originally from Philadelphia so I knew that sandwich would be a good choice. It was a good meal. This spot has a great location, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. You'd think that since it's in Florida and by the water the food would be good. But it's the complete opposite. The fish was frozen, not fresh at all, had no taste and was bland. The coconut shrimp also was tasteless and bland. The fires that came with the shrimp was the only thing that was edible. The staff was fine, not rude but not nice. I would suggest eating anywhere else. Not worth the prices at all! Staff also wasn't wearing any mask due to Covid if that worries you. We were traveling from Colorado and loved Buzz's. It was wonderful to sit outside and see the water. It was a nice, casual, relaxing meal for us.
