Before. The old Keystone. Notice the ceiling.

My family decided to come here since we used to always go to Keystone which was what By Gollys was before. I was very disappointed when I walked inside to see how they "renovated" the place. All the historical charm that keystone had was slapped over with orange and white paint. And it wasn't even done well...the food was ok but nothing notable. Service was good but it was obvious they were kissing ass which is fine I get it. Just sad it's not keystone anymore.

Here for a 65th birthday party with just drinks. Bar staff was amazing. Three Company theme.

    Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

Went for a late lunch this past Saturday. This is a cute little place in Covington, KY. It wasn't crowded and seating was plentiful. Only few servers working but they were friendly and attentive. We started with appetizers, fried mozzarella cheese sticks and loaded waffle fries. The cheese sticks were, enh. They are cheese sticks. I think there were 6 in an order, but I got a photo late after we started to dig in. The marinara sauce that came with them was not to any of our liking, but we got a side of ranch, and they were fine. I guess during the week they have happy hour rates but that wasn't the case when we were there, so even though they were just okay, I don't feel an appetizer that is just okay should cost as much or more than a full entree meal. Would not order those again for that reason. The loaded waffle fries were amazing. I would pay for those again, we enjoyed them very much and highly recommend. One in our party ordered the fish and chips. Now, unlike the serving of cheese sticks, don't be alarmed that it is only one pc. of fish. It was a large piece of fish, lightly breaded and cooked to the right timing. It was flakey, it was crusty, it was good. It came with a side of tangy cole slaw that had just the right balance of not too sharp, not too sweet, it was really good. [*they have a special that includes this on one of their burgers, I would definitely come back to try that] They do have specials of the day, which two of our party ordered. It was a Double cheeseburger-quesadilla. Basically, a hamburger in a tortilla instead of a bun. That was also good. A new take on cutting down on the carbs without losing out on the taste. I ordered the hot Italian sub which had a good amount of favorite deli meats, fillings, cheese and heated so everything melts together in a great sandwich. Again, it's a good amount of food. When I first saw it, I thought it was a bit small, but I couldn't even finish it, and we ended up taking a good amount of food home with us. They also have a full-service bar, and the mixed drinks were rather nice. Couple draw backs, we don't like having to go to places where we have to pay for parking, but it is what it is. The second thing, when we sat down, checking out the place, it was quaint, like you might see on Diners, Drive-in's, and Dives, but what I didn't like was that the menus were sticky, we were near a window that had an irritating fly that wouldn't leave us alone and when I glanced down at the ledge of the window sill that is located a couple inches below the table ledge, it was very dusty with lots of dead gnats on it. I'm hoping the energy they put towards their food outweighs the energy they have put towards their cleaning processes. I liked this place, I will definitely be back. The food was good, they have an extensive menu, and I'd like to try some of their other dishes, but I wouldn't recommend the window seat.

Wow! What a way to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary! I loved this place…read more It has been a few months since eating here but I still find myself thinking about it. Our next trip to Cincinnati; It will be extremely difficult to stay away from here. We spent the day in Newport and around Cincinnati and wanted somewhere nice for the occasion. I was iffy on this place at first... you can throw a rock all over America and hit a place with 'Barrel' in the name these days. The Yelp reviews swing both ways here but I'm here to tell you my take... because it swings so far towards the 5 stars that it's very much a 6 or 7 star place(maybe more). We gauged our arrival time based on other activities that day. We wanted ample time at the nearby Lego exhibit so when we arrived there, we made a reservation for 4:30-5. Eating early and making our way back to Louisville was a great idea. The entire time we were there, no one else came in so we had the entire place to ourselves(It was a Friday). The atmosphere is homey but during busy times, I could see it being noisy. The booths could easily fit 6 people comfortably... probably 8 in some cases depending on how wide some of you are. Special Note: This place highlights The Parrillada Experience for Two on their menu and we wanted it! We didn't order it because at a price tag of 130-and pictures online, we didn't want it to be a failed outing. After our first trip, The Parrillada Exp will be on the agenda next time. It's a mixture of different steaks, sausages, shrimp, sides, and salads. Definitely worth the cost. On to the food: Sausage App - Argentine Chorizo. Farmhouse Sausage. Grilled Ciabatta. Hearts of Palm. Green/Red chimichurri. Pepper Relish. I don't like ordering this type of dish when I go places because you never know if it's going to be delicious or very bad. It ended up being super delicious. We couldn't make up our mind which sauce we liked the best and which meat we liked the best. App PERFECTION! Land and Sea - This is what my wife went with. Asada Skirt Steak. Jumbo Shrimp. Asparagus. Red chimichurri butter. I had bites of the shrimp and it was good. I had to save room for my dish. Wagyu Denver Cut - I went back and forth. Lobster ravioli being on the menu almost made my decision instant but I was going back and forth between ravioli, steak, and a few other things. I asked the server which he recommended of the 4 Chef's cuts. He recommended two... one of which was the Wagyu so I went with it. I wasn't disappointed AT ALL. He mentioned that the Wagyu Denver Cut was a new addition to the menu... I'm not sure but you could definitely tell it was cooked, arranged, and presented with care. I savored every angle of every bite. We also ordered a side of brussels because of course! Originally we were going to dessert somewhere else but went ahead and ordered the Hazelnut Vanilla Creme Brulee here. Perfect ending to the meal. This brulee was light and had the right amount of crunch. It was also larger than expected. We had no complaints with this place. Easily one of the better restaurants I've had in Cincinnati. If you're doubting visiting this place, take the dive! Other notes: They have beer and a small cocktail variety but they primarily seem focused on wine(plenty of options to choose from).

I do realize it is a chain but so far they have nailed all the prerequisites of what they need to be a successful chain in my opinion. Definitely recommended to get reservations the day before as I don't believe they take reservations the day of. Ambiance is friendly and warm and service has always been really good! The food is the big highlight though. The food here is just plain amazing. The main course of chicken to all of the side dishes they have. The spoon bread to the sweet potatoes to the mac and cheese, it's all good. It is definitely one of the big reasons we go there. Looking forward to coming back again soon! Bring a big appetite.

I ordered immediately as I was late at 9 PM for dinner. I got the three piece dark with sides of Mac and cheese which came with biscuit, and green beans. Everything tasty enough, and the fried chicken was juicy and honestly fine without the honey. The spicy honey which was in a glass ramekin, was pretty good. As oft said, "I put that sh*t on everything -- so I tried it with the Mac and cheese and it was noticeably better. All in all, pretty good experience here and will rate it 3.5/5 overall.

The space is open, bright and well decorated making it very inviting for brunch. You order at the counter from the menus placed along the wall then food is delivered to your table. The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.
