I am writing a mixed review from when we visited last month. I came with my 6 yr old to eat inside. It was SO cold we even saw someone walk out. Lucky enough we found a spot by the space heater so we stayed inside. The food was good and the cashier was super nice. There is a TV playing and between the content shown on the TV and the music choices I dashed out as it wasn't age appropriate and I didn't want her to ask about a few new word choices learned from the songs either. The restaurant is clean and contemporary. The food took a while and there was only one lady that came in to pick up a to-go order and no one was in the rest of the restaurant, so I am not sure what took so long. I ordered the sandwich mild and my husband medium, with a side of mild fries and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese noodles were overdone and tasteless. They left us with a gummy feeling in our throats. My sandwich was mostly crispy breading and I felt I had very little chicken. The mild was still a little too hot for my tastes, an abrasive heat that wasn't enjoyable. My husband's piece looked a little meatier than mine, but he also mentioned that the medium left his lips burning and he couldn't imagine what the "super hot" would be like. The fries, while mild, still felt too hot for our tastes. I thought we liked spicy food, but maybe I'm just a weakling? This place is a hit and miss but I keep coming back because when it's good - it's damn good. I've ordered every level of heat and it's seriously so inconsistent that I never know what level of heat to get. Sometimes I get "supa hot" and it's basically bland not spicy at all and then sometimes I'll get medium and it's borderline too hot to eat. Guess it could be a fun game if you don't care what you're ordering. The fries are meh. 90% of the time they won't put cheese on the cheese fries you order (and pay for). The ranch is basic, definitely not made there. And their "24k sauce" is glorified thousand island & ranch mixed together. Also not house made. It's definitely gone down since they first opened. Now more of a glorified "new" fast food/causal dining place. Hope when you try it, it's good! Because again, you never know what you're gonna get there lol read more

Came here for a promotional event to try their food. We loved the place here before but this is a step forward. I love Nashville Hot Chicken and theirs is very good. So glaD I went with Hot. The hot fried chicken is encased in a tasty Brioche bun with cabbage cole slaw and pickles. There is a special sauce on the side. Sandwich was crispy, piping hot and amazing. I am so happy a halal Nashville style fried chicken place opened up next to us. Generous portion sizes, and really delicious! My husband I both ordered a burger and a chicken tender each, but the burger was filling enough that we saved the tender for later. The cashier guy explained throughly every single thing with Humor in just about a minute and I was just looking for a Nashville Hot Chicken, so I ordered #2 with two sides as Cheese Fries and Potato Salad. It was ready in about 5-7 minutes, and it looked delicious. The chicken was so damn Juice and the spices was like a Carnival in my mouth, FYI go for medium if you love spicy, I tried my friend medium and it was very flavory. I love spices but as the guy mentioned it is HOT HOT, NASHVILLE HOT, so I went for mild, which was perfect for me. The fries were fresh and the potato salad was just amazing. As others had pointed out the chicken isn't your average nashville hot chicken sandwich or tender, they use a really good dry rub and oil (I think anyway) and the taste is phenomenal. If you like spice just go for the super hot, it's spicy but not unbearable Also these are the same owners as peri peri so you know the food is good quality. So I had this the other day for the first time and it was really good! I get nervous with the spice so I asked for Mild for both the sandwich and the Byrd bomb. The sandwich was soooo spicy for me! I would recommend a no spice. I love spice don't get me wrong but it was too much. Upgraded the potato salad to Mac and best decision I could've made. The Byrd bomb was my personal favorite because it didn't have the spice I couldn't handle. I love it when there's a new halal spot that is local to Algonquin. The food here is good. Don't get me wrong even though this is a mild score the food is good, maybe I tried this early upon opening but I found that the food was really oily. And not Nashville hot chicken level, but I found that that much oil did not have much flavor. It seems like a simple fix and am looking at trying it again very soon. Update coming soon. We had a great experience having dinner at Bryd's Hot Chicken in Algonquin. The food was very good, made fresh and portion size was nice as well! The owners / operators were very polite, and attentive. They asked how our food was and if they could get us anything else, including refills on drinks. I know this seems obvious, but the drink station is self-serve. I felt the offer was going the extra mile. At the end of our meal, he thanked us for coming and said if we had any comments (positive or negative) to leave a review, so I am. I did not feel that this was solicitous since he added "positive or negative" to the option to leave a review. I used to deliver DoorDash for this location. They ran out of certain items on a regular basis, tables and floor were dirty, understaffed, and just generally not a well run establishment. No attention to detail whatsoever. Customer's order included a drink. They did not give it me at first. Had to remind them. Then asked me to fill it myself, but didn't have any lids. Had to ask for that too. They knew I was DoorDash delivery. Did they really think I would transport a drink without a lid. My comment has nothing to do with the actual food itself. Went to this new spot in the gonq.. it had great potential but few things I want to mention that made me come to this rating. I ordered 3 sandwiches.. which 2 of the 3 had no top bun. Also the 3 sandwiches came with noticeable portion differences.. meaning 1 sandwich had 3 tenders where the other 2 only had 1. They also missed an order of tenders as well. Besides that food was decently good. The chicken brought the heat and the sauce was great. We will try again after them being open for a bit longer. read more
