My brother and his wife were in and and this is his go to spot for 7 Courses of Beef (Bo 7 Mon), to be honest I haven't been to this location. They actually have another location that's in GG and that's the one I'm familiar with. If you grew up in Little Saigon you know that Bo 7 Mon screams big family gatherings for a lot of us! It's been quite a long time since I've actually had 7 courses of beef, as it's a very communal and social thing- you need a solid at least 4 people to really enjoy the full experience! Or in my family's case yesterday there were 18 of us!! (But details ...details..! ). The owner was so gracious and attentive, as were his staff. The food was delicious and properly paced and plentiful - maybe a bit too much food?! I was ready to be wheeled out with a wheelbarrow. But I enjoyed everything! And you get fruits at the end as a palate cleanser. Don't forget to order the grilled cat fish (we ordered the largest one and it took 30 minutes to cook. So keep that in mind and order the fish first while you can take your time to look at the rest of the menu!) Overall I highly recommend this place! If I didn't have great company and conversation with my guest who came here for the first time, and the interactive experience of cooking our meat and rolling them with all the accoutrements, this would've been a big fail. Catfish takes about 25 to 30 minutes to bake so we had a nice conversation while we waited. I love DIY spring rolls. Comes with plenty of herbs and veggies to complete your DIY spring roll. We were originally going to go to the location off Westminster Blvd. but it was closed on Tuesdays so we're thankful this sister location was still open. We had 4 adults and 1 child with our party. They immediately seated us and took our order. They have a wide variety of beef based dishes and more for those who want to try other items. We ended up ordering Bo La Lot, Bo Nuong Mo Chai, Bo Nuong Vi, and Bo Tai Chanh. The Bo Nuong Vi comes with side veggies and rice paper for you to wrap into spring rolls. The food came out in a timely manner. The portions were generous. Every dish is unique and cooked to perfection. The beef rolls and meatballs had great flavor and the light charring makes it extra tasty. The fish sauce adds an extra kick to the dishes. Salad is also very refreshing and the beef slices are very tender. The only complaint we have is how the oil on our grill splashed at us all while we were cooking the beef slices. It hit us a couple times even though we kept an arm's length. Cleanliness is questionable. We found a small strand of hair on our rice paper plate. Parking is great, since they have front and back lots. The inside is simple and bright and airy. Service is good,, but somehow they misheard what I ordered on drink. I wanted a 1l of wine and they gave me a glass...when I told them about it, they brought me a liter, and charged me for both. They didn't even inform me til I pay the bill. Wanted Bo 7 Mon and this place was the closest to where we were at the moment. The symbol on the store front resembles the Laughing cow cheese symbol. The place is very low key and old. Lots of round bigger tables to cater to larger parties. Toilet didn't flush, bathroom very old, soap was diluted with water and placed in an old pump container. Regardless, the food was amazing and delicious. Mam nem and nuoc mam readily at the table which is money. They'll bring you rice paper to makes at the table, greens, chopped cucumbers, carrots, bean sprouts and chuoi chat slices. I love the lemongrass that they bring, I add a ton to each roll. You can also get baked fish but need to order ahead because it takes time to prepare. Not a fancy place, but definitely fancy for the tummy. One set of Bo 7 Mon is $30.99 per person. Order was hot to go when I arrived and service was quick and easy. There's nothing quite like the betel leaf wrapped beef here. It's perfectly grilled where all the juices are locked In, so you get flavorful bite every time! So good indulgently good. I like to wrap it in rice paper and add pickled veggies, a sprig of mint, lettuce and a thinly sliced cucumber. So fresh and delicious! The food was mediocre at best, but what truly ruined it was the service. The servers unfriendly throughout our entire meal. I love Thiên Ân! I haven't been here in so long until now. They specialize in Bò 7 Món (7 Courses of Beef) and it is so darn good. I would go out of my way to come here. I like to get a few orders of the Special Combination (Seven Courses of Beef) and Cá Bông Lau Nướng Lò (Broiled and Roasted Whole Catfish) to share with the table. These orders come with Bánh Tráng (Rice Paper) and Vegetables to make Gỏi Cuốn (Spring Rolls), my favorite! I can't even tell you how many rolls I make. 11 of us came here for lunch yesterday. Our friends got there first to get a table at 11:30 am and they weren't open yet. They almost left but we called to tell them to wait a bit longer. We also ordered two large grilled fish and that was okay only. We had so much fish leftover. Food was good. Service was very slow since they didn't have a lot of staff there. And there weren't even a lot of diners at that time of the day. Only a few tables. It always took a while to find a server. But once they came to the table, they were quick to bring whatever we needed. Then disappeared quickly. :) I came later. We had some friends visiting and wanted to show them Vietnamese 7 Courses of Beef. Thien An seems to be one of the few places offering this type of meal in this area. The interior is large and nice, and while the parking lot outside was not huge, we did not have trouble finding a spot to park. We were greeted in Vietnamese when we entered, and throughout the meal we had slight trouble communicating as the employees that day did not seem particularly proficient in English, but we got though the meal without issue. It's a good thing I had had 7 Courses of Beef a few times in my life, as there was no explanation as to how to cook and eat the courses. I appreciated that since we ordered four servings of the 7 Courses, we got very generous portions of everything. The food itself was tasty. It took some time to cook as the flame was not particularly large for the grill and broth dipping courses. Overall, service was mediocre but as I had no major complaints (except maybe the restroom was a bit dirty) and this is one of the only 7 Courses of Beef restaurants available, I still give it a solid 4 stars. read more

The star of the dish is the grilled crispy catfish . I would give that a 5 star . The rest of the meal is 3 star, the beef balls had a funky after taste to it after each bite . The la lot beef wraps was ok. Not savory , didn't have a scent of a smoky grilled flavor what I am accustomed to at other similar restaurants. The rest of us didn't like the shrimp paste sauce , something was missing but we all couldn't figure out what. read more

Found this place on Lunar New Years (in fairness, my friend and I should probably have figured most businesses in this area would be closed in observance of the holiday). Overall, I left this place full and happy by the end of the night. Service: (4/5) The waiter we had was friendly and polite. He gave us recommendations and kept us in the loop with any changes he made (like when he put two of the beef dishes on the same plate). We did have to call him over a couple of times, but I was okay with the service as a whole. Decor: (2/5) Very spacious. Inside is quite plain. When you walk through the entrance, there's one of the LED light up trees. Most of the area are filled with wooden tables and seats. Food: (4/5) My friend and I shared a single order of their Seven Courses of Beef Combination (#22.99). We felt this thing came with enough food for two (I did not leave the table hungry). Not only was the food tasty, but it's a lot of fun enjoying the different variety of the dishes and personalizing the wraps/dipping sauces to your preference. The meal begins with the laying out of the key ingredients you will need to make your own wrap - the spring roll wrappers, hot water (to soften the wrap), herbs and veggies, and dipping sauce materials (fish sauce, hot sauce, shrimp paste, peanuts, and marinated lemon grass). Dish #1 - Gói Tôm Thiên Ân - This shrimp salad dish was one of my absolute faves. It has a lovely combination of vinegary and citrus flavors from the dressing, minty tones from the chopped up herbs, nuttiness and crunch from the peanuts, meatiness from the shrimp, and sweetness from the carrots, radish, and celery. Dish #2-3 - They combined both beef dishes together for us: The Bò nhùm dâm, slices of tenderloin, and Bò nớng vĩ, beef marinated with lemon grass. You cook these shabu shabu style with a boiling broth. The beef is thin so it cooks quickly. Dish #4 - Bò nớng lá lốt - Beef cooked in la lot leaves. The la lot leaves, which are like grape leaves, keep the beef moist and gives it a nice herbal flavor to compliment the meat flavor. Dish #5 - Bò chả đùm - Beef pate mixed with nuts, mushrooms, and spices. Not bad though I can see that the texture can be off setting for some. It's one of the more bland dishes in my opinion. Dish #6 - Bò nớng mỡ chài (my second fave) - Ground beef meatballs that have a great garlicky, caramelized profile. 7 beefs course is a disappointment. 1 - Missing the marinaded lemongrass beef wrap. 2 - The beef wrapped in caul fat is horrible and have the ages meat tastse and smell. 3- The steam ground beef patties (meatball) tastse more like pork meatball. 7 courses of meat! If you've been to places like this before you know exactly what it is. If not, it's an awesome place! They bring out beef made differently 7 times aka 7 courses of beef, literally. In addition to beef they also specializes in fish. Deep fried, crispy skin cat fish which is very good! One of my other favorite is the deer meat. Fish sizes are available in small, medium or large. Best to get the medium or large size since the fish generally taste better and there's meat to the fish. All the dishes will come with a plate of salad filled with greens, and 3 or so different mint leaves. And you make your own spring rolls adding whatever you prefer. Came here for the fish. It took awhile compared to other places but everything was still good. Service could have been more attentive.

This place is most famous for their fish and I absolutely love it every time I go. My family and I go here pretty often on the weekends and we get a medium fish with fried rice, beef porridge, and the fried shrimp chip. Service is usually very fast when it's not so busy but the quality of the food is super fresh and made to order, none of that frozen stuff.
