Solid staple of an institution in an area where there's a plethora of Vietnamese dine ins to choose from. It's apparently been opened for decades and withstood the test of time, which is saying something considering how tough the food business is around here where it's so saturated -- you can tell that this is a local's spot with regulars. The food was fresh, meats nicely grilled, and the fish sauce was nice and funky. The egg rolls and calamari you can tell were freshly fried and crispy. They have an extensive menu with a variety of things to order/choose from. Service was quick/efficient and the owner was very kind and attentive. The only downside is the parking is a nightmare here on a holiday or weekend but that's not out of the ordinary for the area here. If you're looking for Vietnamese comfort spot this is it!

I was told about this place from my mom. After an event, she suggested we'd come here and we came with our friends. There is much parking, no need to pay for the parking either. It is on a busy street so turn into the parking lot cautiously. The establishment outside is gorgeous just as the inside. It smells so delicious coming in. Were greeted right away and got seated quickly. They gave us our menus and let us browse for a few minutes and when coming back they took our orders. We had ordered water to accompany our dishes. My mom and I were able to use our Vietnamese with our server and he corrected us where needed when we ordering our food. Much appreciated to our server (I didn't catch his name). We apologized and he said it was okay. I like how they speak both english and Vietnamese here. I had ordered their Cơm Chiên Bó Lúc Lắc, on their Menu it's number E2. In english the food item is cubed filet mignon on a bed of lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. You have the option of steamed or fried rice. I ordered my dish with steamed rice. It was delicious! The filet mignon was rich in taste and tender. Each bite better than the last. It was my first time here and definitely will want to try some other items. What's great about their menu too is that they have photos you browse through and toward the end of the menu it shows the number and price. Creative I thought. Can't wait to be back!

THANH MY RESTAURANT @ WESTMINSTER Parking is available right out front, and it was actually pretty easy to snag a spot on a Saturday night. My family and I were craving some good Vietnamese food, and this place popped up online and looked really promising, especially because their menu is huge with so many different options. We were seated pretty quickly, and we started off with the chicken wings, the garlic butter dish, and a fish tomato soup. The soup was honestly incredible, definitely a 10/10 and probably the highlight of the entire meal. I also ordered the Chè Ba Màu, which is usually a colorful three-layer dessert drink with beans, jelly, and coconut milk. Unfortunately, this one did not live up to expectations at all. Half the cup was just packed with mushy beans, barely any jelly, and mostly milk. It didn't even have the signature colorful layers. I politely asked if they could remake it, but they literally just poured the same drink into another cup and handed it back to me. One of the staff members also seemed annoyed and told me it was "supposed to look like that." I've had this drink many times before, and it has never been like this, so that experience was definitely disappointing. The chicken wings had good flavor, but they were extremely overcooked and dry. Overall, the staff also weren't the friendliest during our visit. That being said, the soup alone would honestly make me come back because it was that good. I'd probably return to try more of their soups and other dishes, but I would personally avoid the drinks and chicken wings next time.

This is one of the oldest Vietnamese restaurants in the Bolsa area. I've been coming here for over 20 years, ever since I first moved to Orange County and finally I writing a review, because I truly want to support this place and hope they continue to maintain their quality and reasonable prices. One of my favorite dishes here is the canh chua (Vietnamese sweet & sour soup) and cá kho tộ (caramelized braised fish in clay pot) . it's perfectly seasoned for those who enjoy authentic Southern Vietnamese flavors, like I do. Other dishes are decent and consistently well prepared. The restaurant may be old, but it's kept quite clean and is located right in the heart of Little Saigon, so it's easy to find. Service is friendly and relaxed, and there are plenty of parking spots nearby !

This spot is an institutional staple in the Little Saigon area, having been run by the same family for nearly 50 years. It's a go-to place for classic, traditional Vietnamese home-style cooking. While I wouldn't call it exceptional, the food is solid and comforting. Exactly what you would expect from a long-standing neighborhood restaurant. The restaurant is on the smaller side and can get quite packed. Our party of nine made a reservation, and they had the table ready for us upon arrival, which we appreciated. The main issue, however, was with the corkage fee. We had called ahead and were quoted $15 per bottle, which I noted before making the reservation. At the restaurant, we were instead charged $20 per bottle, even though we brought our own glassware and openers. Service was somewhat inconsistent. At times it felt attentive, but there were long stretches where no one came by to clear plates or provide bowls and extra plates unless we specifically asked. Toward the end of the meal, Anthony (the owner) came over to speak with us, which was a kind gesture. Unfortunately, since the corkage charge was presented at the very end, we didn't get a chance to raise the issue with him directly.

Love coming here, I've been coming here for the longest time and the food never disappoints. Fast, easy and great service. Restaurant is clean and has plenty of parking. If you're looking for home cook style Vietnamese cuisine this is the place. I ordered the macaroni with shaken beef and it did not disappoint. Beef was tendered in the sauce was delicious. Very well put together. Macaroni was also delightful. Perfect combination. They have the best eggrolls here. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood and in the area.

Com phung is what this place is known for. They serve your traditional Vietnamese meals with catfish, soups and braised meats. We happens to get all fish. Good stuff and the place wasn't too crowded. Prices are reasonable and the place is clean and bright. Plenty of seating and located in a large center. I'd come heck to try other things

Good family style restaurant if you are looking for other things than pho. They have a wide selection of food that is good across the board. You can even mix and match family style with personal orders. We had family style for 3 (plenty for 4 people) plus 2 bowls of individualized shrimp/grilled beef bun and egg roll/grilled beef bun. Both bun were solid. As for family style, we got caramelized catfish, stir fried green beans and beef, hot and sour shrimp soup, and stir fried Chinese spinach with garlic. All were fantastic and served with plenty of rice. I haven't been here in years but if I need Vietnamese home cooking, I'm heading here.

This restaurant was pretty good. Had the three course meal for two people. I love the fish soup and the caramelized fish. It's one of my favorite restaurants.

Mind blowing. The best Mi Kho I've had. The noodles are perfect and there's so much variety of meat in this dish. And there's soup that came with it was a full circle delight. This was a HH special too so it was like $10 for this! Wife ordered the Bo Luc Lac and that was a 5+/5 as well.

The restaurant was clean and the wait staffs were nice. We were sat immediately and the owner took our orders. We got the family combination which consisted of canh chua (sour soup) clay pot catfish, garlic sauté ongjoy rau muống xào tỏi. Gỏi dừa tôm thịt. Canh chua cá 9/10. Flavorful with 2 slice of catfish. Cá kho tộ 8/10. The flavor was good but lacking some pork belly, and lemon grass. Rau muống xào tỏi 8/10 Gỏi dừa tôm thịt 8/10. The owner was very nice and friendly. She chat with my mom which left a good impression on her. We will come back for many other items on the menu.

Goi bo tai chanh. Best item here. Dip it in their mam sauce (brown).
    Dennis L.

This place is still so so so delicious. If you plan on ordering 5-6 dishes, I'd recommend doing the family meal (com Phan) because it is a little cheaper. Service is great. I love fermented fish sauce (mam nem) so I always ask for this. It's my favorite. Plenty of seats. Parking is usually plentiful also. People come here and eat quite often as well. I ordered Canh chua. Ca kho To. Tom rang. Bo tai chanh. Goi sua Tom thit. All items 5/5 hands down. So so so delicious and such a good meal. I've loved this place since my college days and still love it today. They are opened pretty late at night in case you have the late night cravings. I'll be back per usual. If you're looking for family style viet food, come here!

    Braised Catfish (Ca Kho To)
    Cindy H.

Very extensive menu ranging from Vietnamese noodle soups, broken rice, hot pot, home-style cooking (com phan), & so much more. Appreciate that they have pictures depicting some of their items since the menu can be overwhelming. I got the home-styled meal set for two $37.95 (rice not included, $1.50 / person). You get to choose a soup, savory dish, and salad. Braised Cat Fish (Ca Kho To) 4/5: tender pieces of catfish filets braised in a sweet and savory caramel fish sauce. Could use a bit more caramelization since the sauce was still a light amber color (not dark enough); increasing the cooking time would've reduced the sweetness. The flavor also hasn't fully penetrated the fish. Besides that, I still really enjoyed this dish. Tamarind Fish Soup (Canh Chua Ca) 4/5: a harmony of sweet, sour, and umami flavors from the fresh pineapple, tomatoes, tamarind, and stock. Comes with celery, beansprouts, elephant ear stalks, and a generous portion of catfish. Unfortunately comes in a bowl and not in a pot, so your soup doesn't stay hot throughout the meal. Beef Salad (3/5): sauteed beef and onions over a bed of salad. Flavor was good but beef was a little dry. Meal comes with complimentary Vietnamese dessert (che). Service is straight to the point, with food coming out quickly. Ambiance is more on the casual side. The restaurant has been around for at least 45 years with plenty of locals dining here!

Told him it was our first time and he gave us time to look over the menu. We got the signature combo ($31.95) that came with a lobster roll, a side, spring mix salad, and cup of soup. Got the maine lobster roll, fries as the side, and clam chowder. We also got a classic butter lobster roll ($21.95) with salad since we weren't too hungry and shared the fries. For such a decent price the lobster rolls had a very good amount of lobster meat and not too heavy handed on the mayo and butter. The buttered roll was not too thick and held the fillings perfectly without breaking apart. We enjoyed the crunchy battered fries and the dressing on the salad was perfect. The spring mix was really fresh as well. The clam chowder had a thinner consistency than what I would prefer but it had a rich seafood flavor. The items we got did not include drinks but we prefer water anyway. For the total price we paid, it was a great meal and we left very full and satisfied. Rated 10/10 for the food, flavor, amount, and price. Oh and the customer service too! There's a good amount of tables mostly for groups of two or four. It was a nice place to grab a casual delicious meal and enjoy the food without feeling rushed. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back to try more items.

All three were loaded with a really generous amount of lobster, definitely not skimpy, and at around $22 each, I thought the portions were pretty good for the price. The Connecticut Style was my favorite. The lobster is served warm and poached in butter, with just a touch of mayo, green onions, and Old Bay. I really liked the combination of the warm buttery lobster with the creaminess from the mayo. The Maine Style is served cold with lemon aioli and celery, while the Classic Butter is warm buttered lobster with Old Bay. Both were good, but I'd order the Connecticut again without hesitation. If you're a lobster lover, this is a fun spot because you can try the different styles and actually taste the difference. Connecticut Style = the winner for me!

Or maybe they like the cuisine, but for health reasons they've been told to avoid eating it. I know for me I just haven't come around to a lot of Asian cuisines that are focused on high vegetable and low protein content. But to this day Toby and I have never shared a seafood boil together. She has a germaphobe reaction to eating food with her hands and there's no easy way to knife-and-fork stuff like shrimp, crawfish, crab, or lobster. She's offered to get something else like fish n' chips or a plain steak or something, while I get myself a boil. However, one of the joys of boils is digging into a mound of Cajun-flavored seafood together as a group effort. A wondrous temple to the art like Roux Seafood Kitchen would be wasted on her. I couldn't get enough of their shrimp and crawfish. They were both plump, flavorful, and disassembled easy in my hands. At a lb. each, I was more than stuffed at meal's end. I think the only thing that could've made it better is if I had ordered a lobster tail in there. That would've been my ideal order. The service was great here for my party. The drinks were refilled quickly, the food was brought out in an efficient manner, and even the order taking was controlled in what kind of have been haphazard conditions. I liked the ambiance too. The dining room was a spacious and accommodating. The music was low. And the crowds were busy but not super full, which is where I like it. Nobody was on top of each other at neighboring tables and the noise level wasn't drowning. All in all, I think this is the perfect example of a seafood boil joint. Ambiance is spectacular - interior is absolutely beautiful and they have amazing attention to details. Restrooms were very clean and nice too. Location is perfect - on Brookhurst in a great Vietnamese plaza off McFadden with tons of other great businesses around as well. Came here on Sunday of Labor Day weekend for dinner with a friend. We conveniently arrived around 430pm, and they surprisingly have Happy Hour on weekends as well. We ordered the Deep-fried salmon bellies, Oxtail tacos, Garlic noodles, Oysters, and later Whole Mussels Skillet all from their Happy Hour menu. We were pretty excited since they looked like really good deals. Salmon bellies, oxtail tacos, and Whole Mussels Skillet were all good. Garlic noodles - bland, needs more seasoning and greens with them such as cilantro and green onions, more cheese - something. Service - a young boy and girl, Mason and another girl helping us were very sweet. And to what made you guys lose 3 stars - "Oyster (Oyster minimum order is 1 dozen) $2" My friend and I thought this was some Happy Hour only special promo, so cool. I asked and they're just raw oysters - honestly they weren't that good, should've been cooked and seasoned in some way. Basically they didn't have to try much for these, besides ensuring they're clean and safe for consumption, but I thought it was a good deal so worth a shot trying. Then I got the bill and was like WTF? And the worse part was the lady's attitude about it, saying how it's common sense (ie you're stupid for not understanding). The obvious right way to write that is "Platter of a Dozen Oysters $24 and $2 for each additional oyster", not "Oyster (minimum a dozen) $2" - WTF, and she acted like I'm the first to call her out on that. Said she can't do anything, it's obvious, but sure she can tell someone to make a note to update the menu and seemed to roll her eyes. Mason, the young server was nice and understanding, but I couldn't stand the basic Vietnamese woman with HEAVY makeup working at the front. My friend I had dinner with found her extremely rude too. Would I come back? Not likely anymore. Would I recommend them? If you're willing to pay for nice ambiance, decent food, but GOD-AWFUL SERVICE, then be my guest. As a Vietnamese person myself, I'm ashamed of people like these for perpetuating the cheapskate Vietnamese stereotype.

The puff bread was a bit too flour-y for me but I loved the honey butter it came with. I really hope the crab roe spaghetti stays on the menu because it was delicious, great portion, and had amazing crab flavor. The pasta was also well cooked and sauce not too creamy. The berry part of the matcha berry tiramisu was the strongest so I didn't detect matcha as much. They were kind enough to provide a small slice of chocolate cake a la mode with a candle for the birthday and it was actually a great balance of flavor, not being too rich or heavy in chocolate. I would order this again separately as a solid fudge sundae. The beef carpaccio, squid ink uni pasta, spicy miso carbonara, mentaiko pizza, and sticky toffee pudding are still solid as usual. Came back yet another time, and got the beef carpaccio because I just love the truffle flavor, the two sauces, and the arugula/apple bites in between. The only improvement would be smaller slices to make it easier to eat since the larger ones are hard to pick up. The crab roe spaghetti I had to get again for the summer menu in case they decide not to keep it for fall/winter because the crab flavor is so good. My friend ordered the seafood malfadine which I was apprehensive about considering my previous experience but WOW I was surprised by how different it was this time around because when I tried a bite, they REALLY turned it around. I'm so grateful my friend decided to order it because after trying theirs, I might start ordering it again for myself now. Not sure if I had it on an off day previously or they changed the recipe but it now is actually as flavorful as the spicy miso carbonara and might actually be even better. The sausage flavor actually adds a lot of richness without being heavy or overpowering, the spice is a good kick without being actually spicy, the shrimp is delicious, but I kept going back for the sauce. INI Ristorante is one of very few restaurants I consistently keep coming back to instead of trying other new spots in the area because I can't choose my favorite out of so many good things on the menu and just want them all so I need to come with bigger groups or rotate each time I visit. A great problem to have. Their dishes are innovative, pack full flavor, and are unique enough to not find elsewhere. I never have to worry about finding parking and I love being able to reserve in advance since it gets busy. They're the spot I keep bringing friends and family to.
