I wouldn't say I'm a breakfast snob, but I love a traditional breakfast that reminds me of going to my grandmothers and eating her home cooked farm style breakfast. With that said; Waffles and pancakes were amazing. I do like a light waffle, crispy on the outside but these were different. full of flavor, thick and fluffy and didn't taste like batter or flour. Everything was made to order and perfect. Helpings are a little bigger than I'm used to but that will be good warmed for later. The restaurant is a little outdated - but clean. The lighting is soft. At first they were not busy but as it got closer to an hour opened, they started getting busier which still was not very loud. We were seated, drinks and menu given quickly. Order taken and food provided as it was made hot - which took less than 15 minutes to get all of it. The waitress was nice and had a lovely smile. She made sure we were taken care of and we didn't feel forgotten. She did seem to be the only server, yet she seemed to be good at her job. We would definitely come back here. I ordered the steak and eggs medium rare, it came well done without silverware and was told they were out of silverware. Price was marked 22 dollars on the menu but the total was over $40. Never again will I go back to this dive of Sysco food. read more

Came by for breakfast. Inside is very dated and needs a good detail cleaning. Server was nice enough. Ordered the blueberry waffle combo. Blueberries were not fresh. Waffle was heavy (I like them light but crispy on the outside). Combo came with two pieces of bacon (could have cooked the bacon longer, I prefer it more crispy) and bland scrambled eggs (ate less than half of them). Wow. wow. I don't even know what to say. Laughably horrible. The moistest pancakes you ever had in your life. That's right. That's the right adjective here. Moist. Powdered gravy - powdered hollandaise. Everything bad about every Bad diner you ever went to and I LOVE a diner breakfast. This is not the goods. Go elsewhere friends. Anywhere else. Also asked us if we wanted silverware with our meal - and then asked if we would mind if they started vacuuming next to us while we ate. What the actual f. I mean. I don't even know what to say. For breakfast it is my go to place. Quick and good. Over the years the staff has always been friendly and the coffee is looked out for.

Avoid this place at all cost. Owner is cheap and vindictive. Large group of soldiers miss paying one check out of 30 and the owner takes to social media. Multiple people offered to pay for the oversight, owner refused wanted group to come back, it's clearly not about the money. For all we know this could have been oversight by the waiter/waitress. If a $30 bill makes or breaks you, time for a new job. You bring shame to you and your family with this type of behavior. read more

I'm not sure what's going on here. I came in around 9:30 for breakfast. The place wasn't busy and I was told to sit anywhere over there. I took a table and was promptly provided a menu, utensils and a glass of water. I asked for a cup of coffee which was provided within a minute. Within a reasonable amount of time (3-5 minutes) my server came and took my order for the Hot Link Stuffed Hashbrowns. I then proceeded to check my email and get lost in FB world. When I snapped out of my social media trance I realized my coffee was empty and I had no food. I looked at my Sent items in my email and realized it had been over 30 minutes since I ordered and hadn't seen my server since. I had to leave without food. A spooky moment the day before Halloween. I walked in with a group of 6. My kids and my other half.. both waitresses saw us and made nasty faces and walked off. Then the hostess wasn't clear on where to sit and when we asked to confirm she was very rude "well yeah you guys get the biggest table (fit for 9-10) you guys clearly won't fit in the other table" (round corner booth) and rolls her eyes Well okay then.... I could hear them back there arguing over who is going to serve us...it wasn't a welcoming experience.. the waitress that helped us was nice but the other ones seem so upset to be working( complaining to other customers) and are moody.. if you have a bigger party they will not be welcoming or happy to serve you. The food honestly was average. Bigger portions yes but nothing too special. I will not be going back here based on the attitudes being thrown at us. read more

The stereotypical diner style restaurant in the heart of downtown Fairbanks. A first glance I wasn't sure about this place but once I entered the front door I knew this was the go-to for the locals and knew I was in the right spot. I was seated immediately once I entered, greeted by a big smile, water and menus. The service was quick and before I knew it my order was in front of me. The obligatory bacon, eggs, and toast but it was well executed and made to order. One can tell this place has been around a long time and they know what they're doing when it comes to breakfast and diner food. Chicken fried steak was small and hash browns were a tiny amount. For $18 expected better. Worse part was a staff worker was VACUUMING THE FLOOR ALMOST THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE FROM 1:30-2:30PM. CLEANING NEEDS DONE AFTER CLOSING, COME ON GUYS! I felt like staff couldn't wait to get out of there at closing time (3pm). Cleaning up is fine, but NOT VACUUMING. Not just the unhealthy air a vacuum can produce, but the NOISE ALINE was so loud you couldn't speak to another person without practically yelling. This is hands down one of our favorite places to get breakfast in Fairbanks. The decorations are incredibly odd and the rest of the inside is a little dated but the excellent food and customer service trumps the fish walls and golfing pictures. We have loved our experiences here. The food is extremely fresh, huge portions, and very authentic and hearty. Not cheap fast breakfast food. As long as they aren't really busy the staff is very good about constantly coming around and refilling coffee which was nice. The outside def looks run down and parking is kind of a free for all, but the inside is very comfortable and Homey. The decor and furniture is very outdated and out of place for the style of the restaurant, and I wish they would update the inside, but nevertheless the food is hot and delicious, and we have gone back twice now. read more
