    Mango Snowdae
    Emily Y.

I didn't realize how big the mango shaved ice was going to be or I would have ordered just one to split with my friend. The mango itself was sweet and the shaved ice was very fluffy. They have a wide variety of hot and cold desserts including some interesting ones like Durian Cheese Pizza which we did not try. The shaved ice came out quickly and came with color changing spoons which was fun. The spoons went from pink to blue depending on temperature. It wasn't too busy when I went very chill place to hang out.

Will forever get my shaved ice from here, was smooth and buttery-like! I didn't consider myself a huge fan of shaved ice but this place changed my perspective. WIDE range of flavors, highlighting mostly fruit-flavored options (which I absolutely live for). If you had to compare, it doesn't have as many savory options as Meet Fresh does but their list of ranged options overrode that issue for me. The shaved ice is truly shaved, not some crunchy cubes making me beg for a dentist appointment the next day, so that was a huge plus. They may have had physical menus but it was digital ordering for the most part (could still order at the register). I shared it with a friend and it was the perfect size for a post-meal dessert. The topics included fresh-cut mangos, mango-bursting tapioca, marshmallow panda, and some grapefruit sprinkles on top (we had lychee jelly add-on). Will absolutely come back again!!!

Had the mango bingso and it was great! It's a fluffier way to enjoy ice cream and provides a more satisfying texture. Included toppings are also tasty (aloe jelly, popping boba, fresh mango). Prices are a bit high but portions are pretty large and there is a 10% discount for students which is a nice touch.

Still one of my favorite shaved ice spots in the area. I got the small sized durian and it's enough for a quick dessert for two :)

I'm so glad that a friend introduced me to C Fruit Life a few years ago. I never thought of myself as a big dessert fan but after coming to C Fruit Life, I've changed my mind. If I'm eating in the Allston area and have room for dessert, I make a point to stop by C Fruit Life to wrap up the night. The mango snowdae is my favorite. It's rich and flavorful without being overly sweet and comes with different toppings that help to complement the flavor. I've tried similar desserts at other restaurants around the US but none have come close to C Fruit Life's and tend to taste more watery. The shop is a seat yourself with a handful of small tables throughout. It is always busy, especially at night so seating might be tight or you may need to wait a little bit for a table but it's worth it. FOOD: 8.5/10 SERVICE: 8/10 RECOMMENDATION: This is a spot better suited for small groups since seating can get tight.

Came here after doing some research for a Hong Kong based dessert shop. First off, the shop is pretty pleasant. It's clean, spacious, and ordering is easy since you just go up to the counter to order. The lady working at the cash register was awesome and sweet since we had never been prior. She was so patient. My bf and I ended up getting a mango sago dessert and the taro snowdae. The taro snowdae (basically Korean bingsu) was really good and the size is big enough to share between two people. With the fresh fruit paired up, it was delicious. The mango "winter snowball" falls short...somehow I assumed it would be more liquid from the picture but instead it was like...snow cone texture bottom? The fruit and ice cream were good but I did wish it was a bit more "soup" consistency as is the original version of this. So while this place does have a lot of Hong Kong style desserts, it also has a couple of Korean style desserts as well as things like Creme Brulee. Would I go back? Maybe? But otherwise, it's good to try once.

Best shaved ice / bingsu in the area! We ordered the Mango and Strawberry Snowdae. I'd give the Mango Snowdae a 5/5. There was a reasonable amount of toppings, fresh fruit, and a perfect balance of creamy and ice. The mango flavor was so delicious. The Strawberry Snowdae on the other hand was not my favorite. I did not particularly enjoy the strawberry flavor. However, again, there was a reasonable amount of toppings and fresh fruit. Service was good. The snowdaes were ready quick. I'd definitely come back again and hope to try more flavors!

Love this place! Coconut and mango fusion 5/5 fruit mix grass jelly 5/5 Gone here many times and have always loved their desserts! They have a wide selection of sweet items as well as interesting savory items like durian pizza. I'm always impressed at how their desserts with fruits are paired so well that the fruit is not sour in comparison to the ice cream and jellies. The fruit is always perfectly ripe and desserts end up being a good level of sweetness. There's a decent amount of seating, but the place is typically quite busy when I've gone in the evening. There have been a couple times where I've had a short wait before I was able to get seating, but service is good. You can place your order at the counter when you arrive and find a place to sit or take a menu back to your seat to view the selections before ordering at the counter. The place itself is quite lively and has a nice atmosphere to catch up with people. Street parking only.

Mango coconut jelly dessert was delicious. There chewy coconut gum with very flavorful coconut blend ice and fresh sweet mango. Absolutely splendid! Papaya coconut with grass jelly - coconut flavor blast off! If you like coconut, you will be happy. I would say more papaya will fit the title more. Coconut taste dominated papaya. Mango coconut blast was also very good. I'm very impressed with the quality. It's now my official favorite dessert place in Boston.

My friends recommended I try this place, and I'm glad glad that they did! Immediately upon entering the atmosphere was very fun and trendy. In addition the staff was friendly. It had an interesting menu ranging from pizza to shaved ice. We stopped in after dinner and had shaved ice (both the taro and mango). Both were light, delicious, and refreshing on a hot summer day. Parking in the area was a little tricky, however worth it

It's so freaking cold in here. Like legitimately really cold for no reason. And then you come in for shaved ice, and it's honestly so intolerable. The space is very cute though and well decorated. I really enjoyed the various ingredients and freshness of this mango shaved ice. Unfortunate that I couldn't enjoy it more. The spoons are also very fun.

I've come here over and over and over again and each time the fruit is literally the freshest I've had to behold in my entire life. I don't know how they get such high quality fruit and can have such consistency, but this place is literally better than the freshness of Michelin tier desserts. They also make things pretty fast (unless it's one of their pizzas or hot soups, because they make everything fresh). Regardless, I've tried their mango and durian pochettes, mango smoothie, black pepper beef pizza (wow for it being not a pizza focused place their pizza is so good, such a pleasant surprise), several of their puddings and more nostalgic red bean, taro, sago soups. They're so good I don't actually think these desserts would be any better if I went to a formal dessert restaurant or renowned dessert stall in HK. I have pivotal memories sitting with my cousins around midnight in Hong Kong at a dessert shop, and while this place isn't open that late, I am continually floored by the quality and nostalgia of their desserts. If you're Cantonese this place is awash in memories of familiarity - if you're from elsewhere, it's a great place to get a taste of HK in a conventionally palatable way. I'm moving in a few weeks back to NYC and am gutted to know that I can't just stop by anymore. This is one of those places that I will travel to!

    Papaya and Peach Gum Stew
    Sierra H.

A great spot to drop in for a delicious dessert in Allston. The menu is extensive and has something for almost any taste. You order at the counter and seat yourself. We ordered the mango snowdae and the peach gum in papaya bowl. The mango snowdae is a fluffy mountain of shaved ice topped with popping mango boba, lychee jelly, and fresh mango pieces. It's a large portion and great for sharing. The peach gum in papaya bowl is served warm and comes with a small pitcher of cream on the side. This not-too-sweet dessert is a comforting classic.

I built my own with custard fish, twist ice cream, caramel sauce, and Oreo crumbs. Beautiful presentation and honestly delicious. The cone smelled and tasted so great. The custard is more of a cream but still good. Where I'm being picky: the cone could've been a little crispier and the toppings were pretty minimal. I couldn't taste or see any of the caramel sauce and the Oreo dust is so fine I think I inhaled more of it into my lungs than I actually ate. I wish it was actual mashed up pieces not fine dust. We will definitely be back though! I just won't get Oreo crumbs next time.

We got our ice cream and ate out in the courtyard area, seaport is such a nice place. I got a matcha soft-serve in a taiyaki cone with red bean, and my bf got a vanilla one. The ice cream and taiyaki fish tasted great, my only gripe was how incredibly messy it was to eat. There was such a large volume of ice cream in the cone itself that I wasn't able to eat fast enough and it started melting all over my hands and arms. Like it was crazy. I was eating this ice cream like an animal. It would be nice if they served this with a cup or something. So I just feel like if you're not someone who can inhale a giant ice cream this is not for you. I would just get a plain taiyaki fish treat with ice cream on the side.

I've heard folks raving about this place for years, so finally decided to swing by and try it out…read more First off, must say I'm a bit of a skeptic regarding specialty ice cream shops: with one exception (a now-defunct "frozen custard" shop in Friendswood, Texas of all places, where you could see the super-dense/rich stuff glacially oozing out of the machine, and one milkshake's worth of it kept me full for the rest of the day!) I have yet to find any that are significantly better than ordinary Haagen Daz from a supermarket. In fact, most ice cream parlour ice creams aren't even as good, while costing orders of magnitude more than supermarket H-D! Toscanini's is close to equal to H-D in my book...and mainly for the fact that they offer some truly unusual and original flavors: we had the Mango Sticky Rice, Burnt Caramel, and Kulfi. My friend who enjoyed the first one the most, quickly tired of the second, and the third was my favorite by far, mainly because I love cardamom and saffron so much. I was somewhat conflicted with the Burnt Caramel...first taste was delightful, but halfway through the novelty faded away for the most part. We both appreciated that the ice cream was not hyper-sweet like JP Licks, though. HOWEVER, the extreme creaminess, density, and dry mouth-feel of H-D was just not there, as usual. I'd describe the texture of Toscanini's ice cream to be fairly ordinary, like a typical soft/smooth gelato texture. Not bad, but not anything I would really write home about. YMMV of course. Otherwise, service was good and the place is clean and pleasantly modern inside, with 3 nice new steel benches to sit at outside. The benches are curiously turned AWAY from the street, I suppose to foster more of a "communal" vibe and people-watching opportunities. I've walked by during peak hours and seen it quite full, so this place clearly is still quite popular. At $8.25 for 3 scoops (albeit fairly generous sized scoops) of oh, 8 out of 10 ice cream, I don't see myself ever becoming a regular here despite the undeniably interesting/unique flavors, unless I came mainly for the people-watching opps on a nice weather day.

I regretted not trying something else. I eventually did at Hub Hall (another food hall) connected to North Station. This location is a little more expensive by $1-2 for cannolis compared to the one in Hub Hall and sells other desserts like turnovers, donuts, croissants and sticks if you don't want a cannoli (but then why come here for anything else?)
