I don't usually write reviews, but Dr. Pettit absolutely deserves one. I had a large piece of impacted earwax that had been stuck for about eight months, and it had noticeably affected my hearing. I finally decided to get it taken care of, and I'm so glad I found Dr. Pettit. From the moment I walked in, I had a great experience. The front office staff was so friendly and welcoming that I immediately felt comfortable. Dr. Pettit was just as wonderful. He was genuinely kind, professional, and immediately put me at ease. The entire procedure was quick and completely painless, which was a huge relief. He was able to remove the blockage, and the difference was instant--I could hear clearly again for the first time in months. Dr. Pettit is not only incredibly skilled, but he also has an exceptional bedside manner that made the whole experience much less stressful than I expected. He helped me through two sinus surgeries to eliminate the headaches I had been experiencing daily. This doctor is really nice, warm, and respectful and staffs are friendly and kind. I have several long standing issues in my nose and throat leading to other problems in my body. He listened all of my claims respectfully, but his solution to this was just a prescription of nasal spray for allergy. Which allergy do I have? And what's possible factors causing my problem? I took a family member to visit Dr. Pettit due to some concerns with the throat. He has excellent bedside manner and humor, and listens intently to ones description of the illness / concern before making diagnoses. Concerns with the throat were addressed using a microscope device to view the inside of the throat. Numbing substances are used to help prevent discomfort. Overall we appreciated his professionalism and knowledge. Recommended to anyone in the area with ENT concerns. read more

I and my daughter saw Dr Petitt Thinking we were going to get some answers but contrary. First my daughter got examined which she has a serious problem when swimming and he said there was nothing he could do next I was up and I thought what a joke. I should walk out but not wanting to be rude I sat in the chair. He did the same to me. I had just gotten over a sinus infection that became bronchitis and after medication from another doctor I still had issues but he would not address any of the issues only asking his assistant what do you think? I'm new to the area and needed my ears checked ( According to my wife). Very good guy and put me at ease right away. He's been in the area practicing since 1975. Cleaned wax off my ear drums, zero pain. They also do not pack the office in with patients to make money. Takes his time with you while you are there and I did not feel rushed. It is nice to work with a doctor who really cares about his patients. His staff was very friendly as well. Turns out my ears are fine, I have a problem called "selective listening". I was very disappointed. He didn't seem to want to take the time to perform a careful exam. We had an appointment and he was about 40-45 min late so we thought...."wow, he must really take a lot of time with his patients." Well if he does, it wasn't with us. He basically told us we wasted our time coming to see him and did the bare minimum. I can't believe I paid for that exam! What an absolute waste of time and money. I found him on Yelp and was hoping for a better experience! I guess I should have known better than to trust only 3 reviews! Now I have to go elsewhere to actually get a proper ENT exam! Dr. Pettit's staff was super friendly and kind! Dr. Pettit's bedside manner was extremely impressive and welcoming, he listened to every problem I had with my ear and was also concerned having pain while pregnant. His assistant was the sweetest and even talked to me a couple minutes after Dr. Pettit left the room assuring me I should feel better and to not hesitate to call if I need anything or have questions. I had a septoplasty with another doctor on the East Coast. I was visiting pebble beach and had some very bad nose bleeds, and ear issues from the flight over. I ended up in the hospital twice then, after the ER put an extremely painful balloon in my nose and sent me on my way to find a way to get treatment on the opposite side of the country from anything I knew, I found Dr Pettit. He got me into his office ASAP. He removed the balloon and told me the ER likely did more damage then good. He was extremely thorough and gentle in everything he did. I was quite anxious to see what was going to happen after the pain I had experienced. Dr Pettit took care of me without causing any pain or discomfort. Before seeing him I was bedridden in pain for two days. He saved my entire vacation and even gave me his cell phone number in case I had any further issues while visiting the area. I was very nervous about my flight home and what was going to happen. I visited his office the day of the flight, he examined me and took care of my nose, to ensure I would have a safe flight home across the country. I wish I lived closer because I certainly would go back to have him treat me! read more

For several months I had been having popping sounds and discomfort in my ear. My GP told me it wasn't a wax problem, and not to worry about it. Thankfully I ignored her advice, and went to see Dr. Pettit, who completely resolved my problem. It was indeed a wax problem. He takes Medicare and the receptionist insisted he was a good listener, because "what ENT was a bad listener?"she said. ...In reality, he was a big disapointment, extremely dismissive and did not have a moment of kindness or patience to actually listen to my ear or throat health history. He took Medicare and Med-Cal in his Healdsburg office though. Overall, I felt like I completely wasted my energy and time. He was very late, though nobody else was even there, and he never apologized. He just wanted me in and out quickly and told me to come back if the problem gets worse; though the problem already has gotten worse and worse for months, that's why I was there.
