This was ok. I came with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning. He ordered the biscuits and gravy with scrabble eggs and I had the eggs with patch potatoes. Mine was ok, I feel like I could of made better potatoes. My boyfriends looked good, but on his third bit he had a mouth full of gristle and excused himself to the restroom. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Today, the staff were being over worked and we were basically forgotten. We waited an hour after ordering until my husband went inside and asked when we should expect our order of a salad, soup, and a sandwich. When my husband went to ask, he saw 4 people in the kitchen doing nothing, and one guy was scrolling through his phone. The waitress he asked went in the back and didn't come out until 5 minutes later. She told us it would be another 10 minutes. We waited another 30 minutes before we left without ever receiving our simple order. Not to mention, when we walked through the restaurant to the front door, there was absolutely no sign of staff. This was NOT the waitresses fault. I could tell they were being over worked. Our tables waitress looked stressed and tired. After we gave her our order she turned around and ran away, sobbing. Also we had to ask for the table next to us outside to be cleaned. The table had food and a ton of wasps on it for about the first 30 minutes we were there until we asked. This is managements fault. Give your employees more Manning. They are being over worked. Also, do your job and *manage* your kitchen staff. They should not be scrolling through their phones while people are waiting 1.5 hours for their food. I feel ashamed for this restaurant. Used to be great. So sad to see this happen. read more

Thankfully we had a reservation, otherwise it would have been quite a long wait. We were seated at our reservation time. The hostess was sweet (maybe a little overwhelmed) but very pleasant. We had scones and water nearly immediately. Very good scones and the jam was wonderful! The waitress was good, very efficient. In our party we had 2 people order Ruben Sandwiches- they both enjoyed their meal very much! The rest of our table ordered salads. We had a few Crab & Shrimp Louie salads at our table and they would have been good but...the one HUGE negative- they put lots and lots of cheese (low quality blend bagged cheese) ALL over the salad. There are not a lot of vegetarian choices on dinner menus in downtown Snohomish so we decided to check this place out. We were hungry and indecisive so it seemed fine. The interior is like you're dining at your grandma's house. I can look past that if the food is good, but it was just ok. My sandwich had very brown avocado on it that I ended up scraping off. The place could use a good dust/clean. I was eye level with 2 dead flies. More positively, my husband liked his dinner and the prices are good. Service was great, Ericc was our waiter. Very nice with a sweet accent from Ireland. The food however was so disappointing!! I took a friend that had never been there before and I raved about how wonderful the scones and jam are and the breakfasts. The scones came to the table they were cold and obviously at least a day old, even tasted old. Butter was so cold could not even spread on a cold scone. We ordered...she had bacon gravy on scone with an egg. Gravy had no flavor and same stale scones that were served when we sat down. I ordered pancake, bacon and egg. All my food was cold! Served on cold plates! More cold butter to put on a cold pancake with cold syrup. The pancake was huge but I could only eat a few bites since it was tough and cold. I went to The Cabbage Patch for lunch with my two little ones and a friend from out of town. We were seated fairly quickly and given a really good spot to keep the two littles ones out of the way. We went to cabbage patch four times over the last month. But unfortunately they have been closed or have turned us away because they we're closing way early. Early before dinner some nights and at 7pm on a Friday night. They have even published new hours in the last week. But they are still not keeping those hours. Tonight there was even people eating at 7 and we were told they were closed, with no explanation and no note on door. Seems like this business needs to just close until they can offer the services. I get it I am a small business owner. The labor market is at its absolute worst EVER!!! But??? I try to spread my patronage around the area to support as many small businesses in our community as possible. It has made us some good relationships with some amazing neighbors during the COVID years. So, I guess I am expressing my frustration with how this business is struggling. read more

I took my husband for a breakfast date this weekend after having "won" a free coupon for two during a gift exchange. I hadn't been to CP in many years. The service was excellent. Waiter was so kind and attentive. The eggs were cooked perfectly; toast superb with butter smothered evenly; thick, meaty bacon; and delicious potato patties. This was my second time here after a wonderful first and boy did they out do themselves again! Sitting outside on a rare sunny day, our waiter took our drink orders and returned just a few moments later with a plate of delicious, warm scones and homemade jam. Let me just say, my grandmother used to make raspberry jam every season...and the Cabbage Patch definetly knows what their doing!! The jam combined with the scrumptous scones were so good, we had to order more :p Our waiter was very attentive, kind, and funny despite how busy they were for the lunch hour. He always made sure our glasses were full and gave us the right amount of time to order (dont ya just hate when servers come back every minute to see if your ready...either that or they take an hour, erg). I ordered the clubhouse sandwich with steak fries and my girlfriend ordered the tomato basil soup and spinach salad. The sandwich was a little more than I could eat (perfect as I love leftovers) but absolutley delicious. Toasted sourdough bread with fresh cut turkey, bacon, tomato, etc...Mmm. The tomato basil soup was good and creamy(I think theres only so far you can take tomato soup) and the salad was one of the best I have yet to have. Not normally a fan of spinach salad, this one was served with cranberries and candied pecans drizzled in a homemade raspberry vinegarette. It all came together perfectly and we were both very satisfied! After finishing, we asked our waiter if we could buy some of their homemade jam and after a few moments he came back out, bag in tow. "Well guys, I haven't been able to find someone to give me a price so until I do, its free!!" The bill came and guess what? No charge for the big ole 12oz container of jam we got! No charge for the extra plate of scones and jam either! Our bill for the sandwich, salad, soup, tea, and three glasses of house merlot came to about 31 bucks...worth every penny. When we first moved to the area, we stopped here and I liked it well enough to decide it would be a close to home fail safe place when we wanted home cooking without doing the cooking ourselves. If this was that visit, I might have given them 4 stars for the wide variety of comfort food and the homemade pies. But this review is not about that visit, as that was two years ago. This review is based on the last 2 times we ordered ahead for takeout. I suffer from debilitating psoriatic arthritis and during flare ups, I can't cook, nor can I get out and about. During these flares we either eat the mystery food my other half cooks, or we do takeout. I ordered the turkey dinner that comes with dressing and cranberry sauce, a baked potato with all the accompanying items, and a side of whatever vegetable they are serving that day. The above description is NOT what I ended up with. I opened what should have been a delightful and dazzling to go box and found a fire and drab piece of turkey, literally a piece, a big chunk of white meat cut perfectly rectangle about 3"x2"X1.5", a baked potato with a slit cut into it, no accompaniments, literally a teaspoon of dressing( cause we were laughing so hard at how awful this was we actually got our measuring spoons out to see how it would measure), ZERO CRANBERRY SAUCE, and some old dried out pathetic baby carrots and cauliflower, about 1/8cup. I decided to call the restaurant while we dined and the young lady who answered the phone was very defensive and really was not wanting to listen and at least give a bullshit 'we apologize', she said we could come back in right then but that was it. I wanted to speak to the manager and guess what, 'uhhhhhmmmmmmm, we don't have a manager that is here.... ' she relayed the whole thing to what was most likely the manager and we heard him in the back ground say, ' well it's their problem, they should have checked it when they picked it up.' Okay.... see this is why we shouldn't have a big minimum wage... this made my mind up that we should vote not to increase it, because nobody should have to check their order.... the Cabbage Patch employees should do their damn job and make sure the order is right and that they have presented their customer with the best possible product. It's not like this place is a chain, it appears to be a one of a kind place, the kind that would have an owner on premise each day. How can service be so poor in this setting? And then I began thinking that if the service is this poor, what else might not be very appetizing if we started looking into things further.... Well folks, I have no idea, but what used to be a staple in our area is now on the list of "Oh Hell No's". I don't want to risk ordering from their again and finding nothing but a shriveled piece of tainted meat in my styrofoam carton of shame. So tonight we mourn the loss of The Cabbage Patch.... it was a good friend at one time, and then it just became an acquaintance who kept asking for money but never really gave anything of the same value back. Went to breakfast with hubby and daughter. 10:45 ish on Sunday. Been here many times and have always been pleased. Hubby had burnt potato cakes My scrambled eggs were so over cooked that they were brown. My rye toast was so toasted that it broke with every bite. Daughters bacon was burnt, her eggs were like mine. Hot cake was very dry. The free scones must have been from the day before, so dry and tasteless. I did not complain although I wanted too, the others did not want a fuss. The reality is this place is a 3+ stars, at times. It's clear there's been a change in ownership/management as the quality of food has dropped. We've only come for breakfast/lunch. Scones are more like basic biscuits now. Came hard as a rock and stone cold once. Flies the last time we were there. Fairly often the eggs are overcooked. Waffles are small and may even be frozen/pre-made. Clearly people are cutting corners. It's like 50% of the food is actually 4 star and the other 50% 2 star. It's always a shame to see a place you frequent drop in quality. In the end you will lose your customers. read more

Cabbage Patch...hmmm well the name sorta fits... I have been to this restaurant at least 6 times over the last eight years. Once for dinner and the rest breakfast or lunch. This place is great for dinner if you like prime rib. They do have fish & chicken but the steaks & prime rib are the better choices here. Very basic home cooked type food. NOT a place for a foodie unless you love comfort food or want a good piece of pie. Even those two reasons would be a stretch. Here is why.... 1. There isn't anything here that is really "fantastic" as in the best meatloaf or whatever as far as the comfort food goes. 2. Homey old fashioned atmosphere 3. Service is good 4. Basic breakfasts, however the french toast done with the baguette deserves a mention 5. Signature soup is good if you like chili & beef but I think it has too much salt 6.Good French Dip Sandwich w/ the jarlsberg swiss but again very basic & no wow factor 7.Pies are the best thing they have in my opinion. Homemade and nicely done at that. Lemon sour cream pie is the bomb. Cobbler is good as is the bread pudding. 8. Food IS consistent & very basic and I never had a bad meal here. Prices are good and they give you lots of food! In fact huge portions of food! 9. Nice sized menu with very little vegetarian options, however they do have a nice choice of entree salads 10. Came here for brunch with my dad and left feeling kind of meh. This is your basic bed and breakfast place in the middle of nowhere Washington. The decor of the Cabbage Patch is quaint and basic and the food is very much the same. Bacon was chewy and overdone, and the patch potatoes are just glorified potato squares without any embellishments. I think my most disappointing part of the meal was when my dad asked about the coffee and the waitress admitted that it came from a concentrate they keep in a jar in the kitchen, add water to, and then heat up (is it really that hard to make a pot of coffee?). If you want a nice breakfast in Snohommish, go to the little bakery around the corner. My dad and I peaked our heads in after our meal and quickly realized we had gone to the wrong place. read more

Anytime we have family/friends in town this is a win/win place for lunch and dinner. We've been here a number of times and we've always come away satisfied when we're in the mood for home cooked style meals. We really enjoy the lunch items like their Reuben, Grilled Meatloaf Sandwich, Prime Rib Dip w/ Homemade JoJos (wedge potato fries) or substitute for fruit. The BLT is also really good. We've also enjoyed their dinner dishes like Chicken Fried Chicken, Meatloaf and the Prime Rib. The portions are a respectful and food is fresh. The only items we've tried that were just so/so were the Fresh Steamed Northwest Clams (great if you want a light dinner) and the Beef Stroganoff. My husband says the ambiance is perfect for 'little ol ladies', yet all the men we've taken (and there's been a lot!) all enjoy the food. They did a great job dividing up rooms of this old house into dinning spaces. You feel like you're eating at your grandmother's house. This place has a great history and a lot of work has gone into restoring the building after a huge fire. The antiques and stain glass windows are amazing. The staff has been great every time we've been here. Also, if ever you're just in the mood for just a great piece of pie and coffee - you've come to the right place! Some of the best pies in the county are served right here! Some of our favorites include the Millionaire Pie, Pecan Coconut Pie (AMAZING!), Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Pie and Chocolate Kahlua Cream Pie. Pretty good food, depending on the cook. The first time my boyfriend and I went, we loved it and couldn't wait to go back. We went back two more times, but unfortunately the service was significantly less awesome than the first time. I think when they are busy and short staffed the customer service is not as great as when it's relaxed and they're not rushed. The third time we went back we were seated at the bar and ended up waiting about 70 minutes from when we ordered our food and the waitress only came to check on us after about 45 minutes to tell us our food would be ready in 5 minutes and then came back 25 minutes later. The first time we went I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and my boyfriend had the smoked salmon scramble. It was so good, but when we went back the next time they no longer had smoked salmon. I got the scramble with normal salmon, but it was not the same as before and the egg whites were uncooked so I ended up not eating anything. I would go there again in hopes of a good cook but stick to safe foods like waffles/pancakes/potatoes/salad/desserts and ask to be seated upstairs because it's cool to be up there. read more

I've eaten here once before and I liked it. We had my rehearsal dinner here this weekend, and they seemed to be incredibly accommodating. We had 20 plus people and lots of picky eaters, and the menu was great, with things for everyone. There was a vegetarian option, as well as a seafood, chicken, and beef option. You could have soup or salad, and the desert was little tartlets. I felt really bad for the server, because she was the only one serving us. For 20 plus people... She did an amazing job keeping our drinks full, despite the fact that she was alone. Someone should have at least helped her bring out the meals when they were ready. A few people were done eating before others were even served. The food was solid, and they were happy to work on pricing with my mother in law. I would do another event here; the restaurant is beautiful in an Old Snohomish kind of way and has a lot of space. Consider this a 4.75 review, not a 5 _only_ because we haven't made it back to confirm consistency. 4 or 5 months ago, recently new to the area (from the SE USA and then TX), we were doing the drive around to get familiar with this whole new section of the country when we stopped to walk around downtown Snohomish. (My parents would love the town, a bit too much of what I was happy to leave behind for my taste, but entertaining and still enjoyable none the less.) We'd missed breakfast and it was rolling into lunch when we decided to try the Cabbage Patch. Perfect restaurant for the location, fits in with the overall feel of "Old Snohomish" yet with enough modern on the menu (and in the kitchen) to be "today." He got a breakfast plate with a side of french toast (which he dove into and ate, and smiled, and ate, and smiled, and ate and still couldn't finish) while I opted for a salad, the Crab and Shrimp Louis. Now, we lived in TX for over 5 years just before moving here so when I say the salad was beyond Texas big, I know what I'm talking about. It was HUGE! A heaping mound, nay, a mountain of salad. There must have been a full cup of crab on it and it looked small compared to the rest of the ingredients. And every single bite was Fresh, Sweet, Crisp and Delicious. I'm a decently big eater and this was "just" a salad, but I couldn't finish even half of it. (Made a delicious 2 more meals, yes, two more meals.) I've had the Crab and Shrimp Louis at a half dozen places since then and, while most have been good, none have compared with that massive mountain of goodness. If spending a day antiquing and enjoying the overall feel of Old Snohomish, eating here is a perfect, and delicious, fit with the entire experience. We spent more than we planned or budgeted for, but I got 3 meals for the price of one, so it worked out. It may be a bit pricey, but if you like big portions or you're not afraid of taking home the extras, it is definitely worth it. My only regret is that we were far, far too full to attempt any of the wonderful sounding desserts. There is still much of Seattle to see and experience, but, Cabbage Patch, we will be back, oh, yes, we will be back. read more

I like the cabbage patch! I'd been here once before and I had a good experience. This time, I went with a group of twenty people. The poor waitress had her work cut out for her, but she handled it well and was such a trooper! I would describe the food as comfort food, which also suits the environment--it's in an old historic home and has adorable decor and a great garden. They're famous for the cabbage patch soup, which I haven't personally had, but I hear nothing but good things from people who have had it. My parents even asked for their recipe so they could make it at home! It's a little pricey but if I'm ever in Snohomish, I would go here again for sure. read more

This place is like walking into Grandma;s house and I dig it. I have been wanting to try it and finally got around to it. Complimentary scones and raspberry jam to start...so good. I had the prime rib dip and jojo's. Honestly, the prime rib dip was sub par. The jojo's are literally an entire potato cut up. They were pretty tasty. My mom ordered the chicken pot pie, the petite version. It was still HUGE and not your typical pot pie. Had all the filling and then a light crispy filo dough stacked on the top but not covering the entire thing. She said it was really good and it looked like it. Now on to the best part. the pie. I had the raspberry cream and OH MY GOSH...so good and creamy. The slices are huge so make sure you have room or take it to go, just don't skip it I would love to come back and try more things on their menu, especially breakfast. read more

I'm not sure that we'd return to the Cabbage Patch restaurant. Stopped by this afternoon for a Saturday lunch after walking through the cute shops in town. Our guest had dined here a few years ago and had fond memories of dining here. I'm sad to say that I won't share that fondness. Our party of three was seated in the back dining room. Most of the tables were filled, resulting in a very loud dining experience. If your party contains senior citizens, you might want to keep that in mind. We ordered our lunches and inquired about the soups. The house soup is a cabbage chili. Our guest asked if there was a lot of cabbage in the soup and the reply was that there wasn't a lot of cabbage and it was only small pieces. Our assumption was that this would similar to a minestrone soup. As the server brought our lunch, she lost balance of the serving tray resulting in our lunches falling to the floor and soup running down the wall. Luckily the soup only lightly splashed my shoes. The table and floor was quickly cleaned and the lunches were quickly remade. Our guest enjoyed her tomato soup, the corn beef sandwich wasn't great. The meat was very chopped up and almost seemed to be ground. The cabbage chili was mostly large cabbage leaves and a few beans and tomatoes. I wasn't impressed with the food or the service. Spiral pasta cooked until it was mush, canned mushrooms, and canned mushroom soup. The prime rib, cut into cubes, was so chewy I had to discard mine in my napkin. My Mom and sister visited this restaurant the other day for pie and coffee. Rave reviews. Marionberry cobbler was the best! The restaurant is an old historic house. Funny thing happened during their visit... My sister's coffee cup moved (and rotated 1/4 turn) across the table. Table was dry, cup was dry. Then the light behind her flickered off. Employees stated that "men with equipment" have been monitoring the place upstairs for ghosts (spirits). If you want a good piece of pie and your table to clear itself, this is the place! Not good enough, but maybe someday this place could live up to its' potential. Located in white people country (Snohomish), staffed by white people, patronized by white people (like me), the music in this place was totally out of character for the early 20th century decor. Music by white people like the Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby, Tommy Dorsey, or even black people like Count Bassie or Louis Armstrong would have been appropriate. Instead, our senses were assaulted by vile, loathsome, utterly putrid musical detritus by white "artists"(!) like The Cranberries, Avril Lavigne, Phillip Phillips, and Dave Matthews. And it was too loud. This isn't supposed to be a nightclub. I hope. Oh. The food. Well, I followed another Yelp recommendation and went with the chicken pot pie, and it was very good. Kelli had the herb-encrusted beef tenderloin medallions which were acceptable. Her potatoes were overcooked as were both our steamed vegetables. The Cabbage Patch soup was good but probably could use some spicing up. Kind of bland, it would have more appeal if it were zesty. It was kind of... white.... The orange smoothie I ordered was watery. The table was somewhat dirty and there was a lot of food on the floor under our feet. And lots of flies. White people like me don't like flies. I've had lunch there once, it was alright, dinner once, didn't like it-was a mixture of strange things for what I read it to be and it was also over seasoned and off tasting. Tried the soups multiple times and can't get past the second or third bite because its so salty. I know now that's how they make it, just wasn't a flook! The desserts look good though.. 5/2011 Still hearing complaints from others about the the soups being over salty. Wondering when they will get it?
