We may have to try some on a future visit when we feel like splurging. Although Cabin Creek Brewing has been around for almost two years, as we haven't traveled too often, they were a fabulous find this afternoon - and a yummy reprieve from the traffic on 70. This is a gorgeous, spacious brewery situated on the banks of Georgetown Lake. The staff and bartender, Larry, were amazing and by happenstance, we met one of the owners of CCB and enjoyed learning a little more about CCB and all the sweat equity that they poured into CCB. Very cool. The craft beer? My partner enjoyed a hazy IPA, Trail Tag, and I had their vodka based Lavender Lemonade. Both were easy drinking. Food? We thought we'd need to go boxes, but with really yummy food, that's rarely ever the case. He ordered the Classic Chicken Sandwich and I had the Cabin Burger with a pretzel bun. We had all the carbs today, lol. My burger was cooked to order, seasoned well and the Argentine beer cheese sauce was delicious. His chicken sandwich was also seasoned well and the pepper jack cheese he chose just added flavor. Their fries? Crispy and fat - my fave. Such a great new addition to Georgetown. We stopped here again a couple weekends ago. It's the perfect pit stop! They are always poppin' so we like to bring a blanket and sit by the water while we wait for a table. The location is beautiful and the concept is good with the indoor and outdoor area however the service and execution was horrible. We came on a busy Saturday, which we expected to be busy, but we waited in line for 45minutes just to order. When we got up to order they told us food was delayed over 1 hour. Normally totally understandable but you're letting people stand for 45 minutes without warning them? Then after we placed our beer orders, we were told to wait in another line for them. 3 other groups got their beers before us. So that added another 15 minutes into our wait. So basically 1 hour of waiting for no food and 1 beer. Mind you, each time you want a new drink you have to stand in that line if you are sitting outside (no servers or service outside that's why you have to order at the counter). Also there was no water in any of the water stations, no paper towels in the bathroom, unfriendly service. Overall just not a fun experience! They need more help behind the bar, more than 1 person taking orders, clearer communication on wait times. Probably will not be back which is disappointing because the location is great and I have been wanting to visit for a while. Don't understand how this place has so many good reviews. Came here after a day of leaf hunting by Guanella Pass. It was a but chilly outside but we still sat on thr patio area since we had my dog with us. They are short staffed but we weren't really in a rush. The service was friendly and the views of the water and mountains are beautiful! The food was meh, not too impressed. We got the fried mushroom and cauliflower for an app. I was slightly disappointed because I thought it would be lightly breaded and not in a batter. The batter made it a bit too heavy to eat. For my main meal I got the crispy chicken sandwich. I think it would've been better if the piece of chicken was smaller, it was so huge and awkward to eat. But the avocado cream sauce was legit. It was a little snow squall that led us to taking a break and waiting out the weather, in which we found ourselves at the bar at Cabin Creek. We stopped on our drive down to Denver. It's nice to know there's another great spot to stop and eat besides in Idaho Springs. Cabin Creek has really good beer- a flight has 4 5oz pours. Carry out cans are also available, but pricey! $20 for a 4 pack is a bit steep. Highly recommend the elk jalapeño and cheddar brat with sauerkraut! Delicious! Our server was super friendly and the huge windows allow for awesome views of the mountains. This place was fantastic! Decided to try to escape the Denver smoke and headed up to Cabin Creek, a year old brewery right on the banks of Georgetown Lake. The inside had high ceilings and reminded me of a wood cabin. Since the day was nice I opted to sit on the patio so I could get a view of the scenery. I started off with the blood moon blonde. It had a citrus start with a tart orange finish. I'd easily get it again if I didn't want to try their IPAs as well, I went with the 4Lo which was hoppy and crisp. I also got the chicken ranch pizza. Holy cow it was good! My biggest mistake was not ordering a larger size to take home and eat leftovers. They were short staffed, but loved how everyone here worked as a team. Unfortunately I am allergic to rice and their fries have rice flour and tots are fried in same oil as fries. This was seriously so surprising, but I guess if someone was gluten free they'd be in luck. We asked if my friend could have Colorado tots not in the large size.. because obviously I couldn't enjoy with her and they didn't seem to think that was possible(disappointing). We also got the Tai chili chicken pizza and it was wonderful, but could've used more cheese. Stayed in Georgetown for the night next door to Cabin Creek Brewing, so after a day on the slopes with no car, I decided to stop in for some food and beer. This place is an open space and they had a guy singing with an acoustic guitar. His music was great as I ordered wings with side order of Blonde Beard's Chicken & Waffle Buffalo Sauce and Dojo Ginger Siracha Sauce. Both of these sauces together was the bomb! The beer is tasty and the food is decent! But, the views are spectacular! It really depends what you are going for. It's located in a cute small mountain town about hour outside of Denver. After a few hours of hiking it's a great spot to grab a beer and a bit and take in the beauty that surrounds. We got the loaded tots and pizza for lunch and sampled a few beers. All were delicious. Driving to Glenwood from Denver we stopped by (searched Yelp for "Brewery") and found a pond-hockey tournament going on outside of this brewery. The inside was large, and packed. Cabin Creek is a hockey bar. I love that they have an identity and aren't trying to be everything to everyone. Hockey memorabilia, hockey on the tv's, and hockey players fresh from the frozen pond. The service is brisk, informal and efficient. We were a little taken aback at first, but after a short wait a waiter came, took our order electronically, went to the bar and got our beers himself, and a short time later our wings and pizza were brought out by a runner. This bright and airy, simple and rustic brewery not only serves some stellar beer, but a delicious food menu as well. They make their own beer hot sauce and sell it as well. I recommend you try them all, if you're feeling spicy. I ordered the chicken sandwich and customized it with goat cheese. I HIGHLY recommend you do the same because my opinions about goat cheese on sandwiches is forever changed. Personal beer recommendations are the Trail Tag Hazy IPA and the Waylon American IPA, both are highly drinkable and pack a punch in every sip. We only tried those two, but on my next visit I would like to try a flight of everything else they have to offer. I love the relaxed vibe, views of the lake, dog-friendly patio, and friendly staff. My boyfriend and I had spent the past few days up in Silverthorne at a cabin on the river. We took a hike at the Lower Cataract lake, where he became my fiancé! On our drive back home, we decided to celebrate at a brand new little joint we'd spotted on our drive up - Cabin Creek Brewing. It was an incredibly blustery day, so we opted to sit inside at a table with a view of the lake. Our correctly-masked server (I wish I could remember her name) offered us a few recommendations of the beers they had on tap. I opted for her recommendation of the Lake Effect IPL - fruity nose, spicy hop bite and an incredibly clean finish. Their menu is extensive, but not overwhelming, with offerings of sandwiches, burgers, pizza and salads. I was torn between the Mountain Cheesesteak and the Vegetable and Grain Salad, but since we'd spent the entire trip in Silverthorne gorging ourselves on fried chicken, fried calamari and multiple other fried things, I went with the salad. Whatever magical dressing that tops this is absolutely delightful! A little bit of citrus to dance with the warm and tender pearled barley, studded with bites of roasted vegetables atop some of the freshest lettuce I've seen in quite some time! The garnishes of crisp cucumber and juicy tomatoes was a nice complement of crunch and chill to balance out the soft grains. I was stuffed and happy after I demolished the plate. I went to wash my hands and when I came back, the server was there with free taster pours of their latest brew to congratulate us on our engagement! We sipped on our Rockdale Peach Double IPA splashes, gazed at the lake and revelled in the beauty of the day and toasted to the start of our new life together! After a morning spent leaf peepin' over Guanella Pass, our group of 4 decided a beer sounded mighty fine. However, we lucked out and got a spot on the patio upon arrival. Our server had the entire outdoor section, with a row of tables inside - all of which were full. SIPS: We opted on a flight of the 5 flagship beers to get started before ordering pints of our own - "Slinger" House Lager, "Pounder" Pilsner, "Cobra 1" Saison, "Trail Tag" Hazy IPA and the "Cheaters" Mocha Oatmeal Stout - all of which were fresh and crisp! I blame the long haired blonde server with the glasses and crocs. He just kept letting people walk up and sit down without being on the waitlist. We had dinner here the night before my husband was doing a half marathon in the area. The outdoor space is huge and the view is beautiful. The patio is dog friendly. It can get pretty windy on the water once you're not directly in the sun. The Thai chicken pizza was really good and the tots were ok. The tots came on paper in a basket and the paper basically disintegrated due to the sauce and we had to make sure we didn't eat it with the food. The buffalo sauce had zero spice to it, which was unexpected. The service was a little spotty and it was difficult to get our server's attention when we wanted to order food to go after our meal as well as our check/to go containers.
