I was surprised when, after years of driving past this place and writing it off as generic-suburbs Mexican food, I tried it and it turned out to be the best choice by far in my area. It has a Chipotle vibe going on, where you choose ingredients as you slide down the counter. Everything is reasonably priced. Their guac is fresh and good, not too sugary like some places (Moe's). Their burritos are well-packed and they don't skimp on the good stuff. They always charge me the lower price for a half-chicken, half-steak burrito, which is just plain good customer service. This place is awesome! All the ingredients are fresh and tasty, their portions are big! And there are way more selections to choose from than chipotle, yeah chipotle is good but this place is way better!! How shall I begin this review? I guess I'll start with my reasoning for rating this place 2 stars. The chicken looked pale and under cooked. Quite chewy in my mouth, kind of reminded me of eating gizzards. This was my dates big idea for "taco Tuesday" yea I picked the place but I had no choice being that I only had one hour for lunch. The only thing that made this experience close to perfection, was staring into my handsome date's eyes. Sam noticed I looked a little perplexed with my chicken, so Sam being the ultimate gentleman, proceeded to appease me by offering me a piece of his steak. As soon as I put his meat in my mouth, I realized how small and chewy it actually was. I was quite disappointed and I don't think I'll be returning for seconds. I'm sorry but I could not swallow at the time, I had to spit it back out unto my napkin. Very un-lady like, but I had no choice. Sam on the other hand, loved his tacos. Sam is the only thing that made that experience worthwhile. Our first date was truly special. I don't think I'll trust his meat ever again. What's chewy to me, might not be chewy to him. I did offer Sam some empanadas, but being that the chicken got me sick, I unfortunately had to reschedule. Thank you Cabo Fresh for bringing us together finally after 5 months! This place in my opinion is so much better than Chipotle. They give you a ton of food at Cabo Fresh, do not charge as much for the same thing you would be getting at any other type of place, and best of all, there is never a line! They offer a lot of different types of meat, including seafood. Definitely beats every competitor by far. read more

Giving this place a 3 stars because I had an overall good experience mainly due to my company. I was recommended here by Daisy who I should've known isn't exactly the person to go to when it comes to tacos. Daisy also chose seats that were for a 12 year old but I managed to sit and enjoy my tacos. Daisy didn't like her chicken tacos and felt weird after eating them, perhaps it could've been the chicken, I kindly offered her a piece of my steak which she found gross which at that point I came to a conclusion that maybe she doesn't deserve all the 10 stars. I was also told that I would be getting empanadas next day which never happened. At this point, I have realized that perhaps I have to be the man and take the leadership here, so with that being said, will I be returning here? I really liked this place! I would say it is comparable to Chipotle in most respects but the friendly staff and the fact that it is Long Island owned and operated makes it so much better. So does the cooked to order tuna and shrimp. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. The food was good. And the restaurant was so incredibly clean. Pleasently surprised by the chicken bowl that I had at this establishment this evening. I do like that you can add mango as a topping. I also enjoyed the chipotle ranch sauce. The chicken was not dry. The food was a bit salty tho but that's not a shocker with take out. Much better then Sabrosa which was unable to stay open which was predictable. read more

I come here in my lunch often, they are MUCH better than chipotle. The portions are larger, New and improved sauce selection, clean counters where food is stored, clean bathrooms, very friendly staff. I only have the chicken and steak salads. Forget Chipotle, Cabo Fresh is a million times better. We went here the other day for the first time and we were surprised by how good the food was and how low it was priced. The whole wheat chicken burrito was delicious. I got it with vegetables, lettuce, black beans, grated cheese, corn, and sour cream. All the ingredients were fresh and the chicken had a good flavor. The vegetable bowl is also excellent. We usually got to Chipotle for the same type of burritos and bowls, but just about every location I've been to has gone way downhill recently. They are over priced, dirty, crowded (not sure why) and the last one we went to in Deer Park had flies flying around the filthy tables and there was a burning smell from the grill that was disgusting. Cabo Fresh is a great alternative. Staff is friendly and the dining area is always cleaned. When we were there the other day, the cashier came out and started to clean the tables. At most restaurants of this type (especialy Chipotle) the tables stay dirty and the garbage cans are always overflowing. It was nice to see employees take the initiative and keep things clean. I hope that Cabo Fresh opens more locations and expands into other parts of Long Island and the city. I was shocked to find out there are only two of them- the other being in Stony Brook. I was sure it was part of a large chain. I will definitely be going here whenever I want fresh Mexican food. read more

these guys catered for a 40 person party and it was one of the best catering services ive experienced. I tried seven other catering places before coming here...most good, some bad. Staff was very professional on the phone and the food was great as expected. Service was exceptional and organized. menu was flexible with many veg options as well. Food came on time (and hot) and the delivery guys had no issues in finding a typically hard-to-find place involving elevators and escalators. ive come here a number of times and the work flow is like a well oiled machine with people who are very attentive to customer service. Sometimes it's contagious and gives me energy just by watching them. i usually get their burrito bowls with fresh jalapeños and it's pretty awesome every time. read more

First of all, I have been going to Cabo Fresh in Commack since they have opened with my ex boyfriend. . . Now, I go by myself probably like 3 or more days a week!! :) Even tho I don't work at Savers anymore, I'm still always at Cabo for lunch!! :) I really don't understand why people have to be so rude & make inappropriate comments about the best place to eat!! :) You could go for lunch or dinner, & if you like Mexican food. . . This is a place to go!! :) When I eat at Cabo, I usually get a kids meal. . . As it's cheaper & smaller portions for me to eat!! The guacamole is amazing, & so is the shrimp / chicken!! :) Your paying for the good stuff!! :) Avocados are not cheap, & shrimp is not cheap. . . Cabo Fresh prices are not expensive at all. You people don't know good food until you try it!! :) They also send out coupons in the mail, so you could go with a friend & have a buy one get one meal if you get that coupon mailed to you!! The service is always fast & always friendly!! For Cabo will always be my favorite place to eat, & I will always continue to go there!! :) They always give me the "Royal Treatment", & since I go there so much. . . (Like everyday), they know what I order!! They always get so much business when I go, & that they will never shut down!! One point of criticism here, this plastic cutlery they provide is a friggin' joke. It bends like it's made out of rubber..you couldn't cut a bowl of jello with this knife. C'mon Cabo Fresh, spend a few more fractions of pennies on a higher grade of cutlery. read more

Sent hubby to get takeout. Armed with his list, he got it all. Gave 3 stars because he was stressed out because he couldn't watch if the fillings for the burritos, tacos & quesadilias were right.The lady with the tortillas rushes you through your order & not sure if the people actually making the food get it right. Everything was right except one of the burritos, its ok we'll live. The food is fresh, the place is clean & the staff is professional. The food never leaves a pit of grease in your stomach.
