Was there for dinner a few months ago and it was definitely not something that I remembered much of, However, we will stop by today for just a quick cold brew and shared an appetizer sat at the bar. What a delightful, relaxing environment for a lazy Wednesday afternoon. We sat outside on the sidewalk with fans blowing providing a cool, pleasant dining experience. Well, if you've ever wondered what it's like to be ghosted in real time by restaurant staff, boy do I have a recommendation for you! Our Cinco de Mayo "celebration" started with a hostess who looked like we'd asked her to donate a kidney when we requested a table. Half the place was empty at 7:45, but somehow we earned ourselves a solid 25-30 minute wait--indoors, because obviously the ghosts needed the empty tables more than we did. Eventually, we were seated, but not before perfecting the art of being invisible at the bar. Tried to order a second margarita while waiting? Cute. You'll die of thirst before anyone notices you. Once seated, the food took an hour to arrive--which, ironically, is probably how long it took for the chicken to grow and the shrimp to swim upstream. Now to be fair, the food was actually good. The fajitas were flavorful and the KFC tacos? Weird name, but tasty. Pro tip: douse it all in extra avocado ranch because flavor shouldn't be left to chance when service clearly was. The place wasn't even packed until we were leaving around 9:35, so unless the entire staff was on a break between 7 and 9, I have questions. All in all, if you enjoy slow service, irritated stares, and a margarita limit of one due to staff invisibility, you're gonna love it here. Otherwise? Our first visit to Cabos Cantina. We went on a Saturday around 4pm. Staff were super friendly. We were greeted and seated immediately. Nice atmosphere. Lots of Day of Dead artwork, which I love. I ordered the White Sangria and my husband got the Chili Cuke Margarita. My Sangria was good. My hubby loved the margarita. I ordered the Steak Street Tacos and the hubby got the Loaded Quesadilla. It's still a solid 4 rating. We stopped in on a Thursday night and sat on the sidewalk out front. It's fun to watch all the people and vehicles cruise by, and of course enjoy the 74 degree weather. We got a pitcher of the Skinny Margaritas. It's about the price of 3 'regular' ones, so why not? It was good-lots of juice and certainly some tequila, but not strong. For dinner I got the Beef Taco Meat Bowl and my wife opted for the Grilled Shrimp Bowl. They were both good and very filling. I had delightful time at Cabos especially because of my wonderful bartender Kirsten. After 4 tries I finally had someone who served me and was super nice and friendly. The atmosphere is pretty nondescript, but typical for a "Mexican" restaurant. The guacamole and salsas were tasty and the Steak Quesadillas were well prepared and tasty. Place is located conveniently in downtown ft myers so it's easy to find right on the main road. The atmosphere is super chill very laid back. Offers out side seating and inside. Has a full bar and decorations in the location are very Trendy new school Mexican styles. Parking is always a little but of a pain in downtown so you may get lucky and find some street parking close by or you can park in the parking garages around the area. The location looks like it can get pretty busy in the evenings specially on weekends. Luckily today it was not crazy due to some rain when we were arriving. It looked to definitely be getting crowds once we were heading out closer to 8:30pm. Service was around 3 stars. Wasn't horrible wasn't amazing just enough to not ruin the night. Maybe not enough waiters available? Not sure. Food was ok. Definitely not the place you would be going to if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. I would give this place a nudge above taco bell. Im sure it impresses the tourist and snowbirds. Flour tortillas taste like those out the pack from the grocery store. Presentation of the food is nice. The drinks we ordered were pretty good. Good amount of alcohol in all. Price of the food and drinks was very affordable. On the menu, it was 22 but then the waitress came over to tell us there's an up charge when you order on the rocks and it would've been $25. Little smaller than we thought and would have ordered three had we known. It came with rice and beans. Also ordered a small side of quac which I like that option as well and it was only $5. We each ordered frozen margaritas (clearly better than prepared mixes) as well as two appetizers: nachos with carnitas and chicken empanadas with homemade guacamole. Happy to report that the restaurant has really turned around and both atmosphere, service, and food quality. Hey guys Heyyy!!! Ok! First and foremost, I visited this establishment on Valentine's Day so, it was super crowded. We initially wanted outdoor seating, but couldn't wait any longer being as though we just came from hot yoga and was starving (initially). We asked to switch our reservation to indoor and was seated at a table that was unclean. There was sticky residue on the table, trash and crumbs on the seats, and a ton of trash on the floor under the table. We kindly asked for the table and seats to be cleaned and they obliged. We then proceeded to ask if there was a bucket and dustpan to be used on the floor and the server was sweet enough to just love our seating which was much cleaner. Now...I will say this...the chips and salads dip was delicious! So delicious that I ended up not needing to order a dish because it was filling enough. My girlfriend ordered ceviche and said it was pretty good and it actually looked very appetizing in my opinion. The ambiance was nice and the service was amazing. I will definitely be going back to try more of the menu items. Oh and we had drinks which were pretty good as well. I recommend this spot read more

What a fun place to go and celebrate Cinco De Mayo! The whole downtown Ft Myers business we're celebrating with the event specials including Margaritas at every place. Cabo's Cantina is one of our favorite places to go for delicious Mexican food and refreshing margaritas. My hubby ordered Steak Street tacos with lime rice & black beans while I ordered Cabo's signature classic ground beef tacos with lime rice & black beans. We also shared one delicious Mexican Fried Ice Cream! Out server Savannah Banana was awesome! The chips and salsa were very good and the soda mix at par...tasty. All tacos came in "corn" tortillas (as they should) + 2 which makes them 100% easier to eat instead of falling apart and landing everywhere! But I ended up with too many corn tortillas when all was said and done. Parking on the street is limited but there are parking garages closeby, charging $1.00 per hour. read more

My girlfriend and I were so excited to try this "Mexican Caucasian" restaurant (whatever that means) because we love a good fusion cuisine. We were expecting some authentic Mexican food, but instead, we got a Texican disaster. The salsa tasted like it came straight out of a jar (probably because it did), the sauces lacked any sort of flavor, and the portions were smaller than my appetite after a juice cleanse. Our server was rude and clearly didn't want to be there. Maybe they were just jealous of the host, who seemed to be the only happy person working at this joint. But don't worry, the host didn't have to serve us, they just took our names and gave us a smile. I ordered the quesadilla it really that hard to heat up a tortilla and melt some cheese? And who the heck uses Gouda cheese in a quesadilla? Pepper jack, people. It's not rocket science. I can only assume the chef in the kitchen was too busy swiping on Tinder or perfecting their instead of actually cooking our food.
