Average launch ramp. Credit card reader requires 15+ swipes to get working to pay for parking. No men's bathroom.

There is a big fountain in the center of the lake that you'll probably feel splashes of water from. My husband and I had a wonderful experience on our swan boat. Each swan boat fits 2-5 people, but only the 2 in the front can pedal the boat. You can ride the boat for an hour, which is more than enough time. Everyone is required to wear a life vest during the ride for safety reasons. The life vests are provided at no extra cost. The boats light up at night, so this spot seems even more busy in the evenings than earlier in the day. Advanced reservations are required and can easily be booked online. I would highly recommend reserving a night ride so you can see the swans glow over the water. Pricing is hourly, per person and very affordable. Children's prices are cheaper than adults. For what you get, this activity is very worth it. I will definitely be revisiting with my husband for another night ride. Before or after the boat ride, you can also enjoy a nice walk around the park trail. The only con is that parking is pretty limited.

A perfect way to spend the day!…read more I'm a Los Angeles native, and even though I've been to Echo Park a gazillion times, I'd never tried the swan paddle boats--until now. A friend and I decided to give them a go, and it honestly made an already great day even better. I highly recommend it. It's $13 per adult (kids are less), parking is usually easy to find, and you can enjoy a relaxing lap or two around the beautiful lake. Simple, fun, and such a classic LA experience

I wish I remembered his name! He also had the sweetest dog named Stella. When we arrived, the employee who got us set up on the boat was just as great -- patient, informative, fun, and super easygoing. We rented a boat for 2 hours and it ended up being the perfect Memorial Day activity. Highly recommend if you want to explore the marina or ocean, sunbathe, fish, listen to music, and just enjoy good vibes. Thank you again for such a fun experience!

Credit where it's due -- the staff working the docks were warm and helpful every time. The owner was the opposite. What I watched over the course of that second visit was a man who seemed to make up charges and rules as he went. The clearest example was my own deposit, which somehow climbed from the $300 I was quoted when I booked online to $450 on arrival -- a 50% jump I never agreed to and never saw written anywhere during checkout. And I wasn't the only one. Customer after customer got the same treatment. One person tried to simply walk away from the whole thing, and he laughed at them and announced he'd be keeping their $95. The way he treated his own team was just as hard to watch. Certain employees seemed to be his favorites; others he'd put down openly, right in front of paying customers. The whole place had a tense, on-edge feeling to it. He struck me as genuinely intimidating, and honestly, if I worked there I don't think I'd ever feel safe pushing back on any of it. One more thing I'd want to know before handing this person a deposit. According to a 2003 Tahoe Daily Tribune article, a Mark Sentyrz who owned a Lake Tahoe boat-rental business pleaded guilty to felony unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor under 16, as well as furnishing a controlled substance to a minor. I'd encourage anyone curious to look it up and form their own view. Having a boat rental right here in the Marina should be something the community gets to enjoy. The way this one is run, it's the opposite. Skip it.

Went for the Grady-White over the smaller Whaler model. We definitely enjoyed the stability and speed with this model.
