The weather was great and we walked the nursery first with our golden, and then did the drive-thru on the way home. We got a iced mochas with cold foam, and they were good- not the best coffee we've ever had, but this is such a cute and fun spot, and the coffee was good enough to go back for sure. It was a bit on the pricier side- 2 12oz iced mochas with cold foam were 15 and change- not horrible, but more than a few other spots we've tried. Bat Man and Marvel comics were his go to. So, coming to this joint only made sense. Yoooooo, this has to be one of the dopest comic book stores around! As soon as you walk in, everything catches your eye! You have Deadpool right at the door. You have beautiful display cases with the most realistic characters in them. Funko Pops nicely organized on shelves. Comic books neatly arranged in bins nicely labeled. It truly is a prestine store. We looked around for a bit. I was just in awww at how cool everything was. My husband was mainly doing the looking. He didn't really find anything that caught his eye. He has a pretty good collection but didn't find what he was specifically looking for. All good cause there's always next time! The gentleman that was working today was really nice! Even though he was mid conversation with another customer, he still greeted us! Very loudly and happily too! The set up of this joint is cool! And the fact that they serve coffee here so you can chill and read a comic is dope. A double shot espresso and a medium house drip coffee totaled $4.35! I had to double check with the barista to ensure that was the correct total, and YES THAT WAS MY TOTAL!!! I wished I had a more time to check out their comic selection, but that will have to be on my next visit. BTW: The house coffee was smooth with a nice nutty flavor (no sweetener or creamer used). The heated tent is such a plus, especially in the cold. It has multiple sitting areas from a couch, hammock chair area, 8chair table for larger groups and a little table and chair for "work" or any other type of alone time while enjoying your coffee. Quick take: Yes, decent espresso…read more Coffee Snob Version: First some background to be fair. I buy and roast my own beans and tried beans from all over the world. I have an Excel file full of roasting profiles per bean with what worked and what was less good. I tend to like African and Asian beans. I have use the same Breville machine for 15 years, drink espresso and espresso based drinks exclusively. Yes I would consider myself a coffee snob. I live around the corner from here and have meant to come try them for a while. I was sick a few weeks ago so missed two roasting Fridays, I roasts every Friday and ran out of my own beans. As you know if you are reading the Coffee Snob version, Sbux disappoints, so hey... perfect opportunity to try here! What to try... curious to know about their beans, I ordered a Dopio and an Americano. The Dopio lets me experience just the bean, the Americano what it tastes like dilluted, the flavor can change a bit. The Americano also tells me how much water they add. I tend to make mine with equal parents espresso and water, there is an actual name for this that eludes me at the moment. What was odd was that as they pulled the double espresso shot, there was an unusual volume of crema on top, I actually saw the Barista dump some of the crema off before pouring the remainder in my cup. This is caused by a few things but beans that are too recently roasted is a primary cause. Freshly roasted means usually need at least a week to off as the carbon dioxide in the beans. All that crema was likely CO2 relates, so if anything would have made the shot undrinkablly bitter... And the Barista seemed to know this! I have had beans that needed a month to stabilize. One day it's sharp and bitter, as if by magic, the flavor has changed entyrly and is wonderful! The flavor of the Dopio would tend to support this as it was on the sharp side. That sharpness came through in the Americano which was full to the brim. The fix is simple, I add a small amount of whipped cream and swirl it in. When I get a less than ideal roast at home, this is the fix. I'm certain milk based drinks, cappuccino, breve, etc would overcome this easily. Will I go back, if I am out of beans, definitely, but now I know to add a bit of whipped cream!

She had a couple orders ahead of mine but she stopped what she was doing to grab my order. I grabbed the green apple tea lychee jellies today. The barista smashed out 5 drinks. She was on top of it! Since she was the only one working it did take her a minute to get them all done. My tea today was perfect! I have never had green some before and I'm happy I tried it out! It tastes like green apple Jolly Ranchers. There's a good amount of jellies on the bottom that you get a couple pieces every time you take a sip. It's quite delicious! There's plenty of tables and seating for a great coffee date or a spot to do homework. It's the ultimate chill spot to grab a drink and enjoy the moment.
